Chapter 99: Protecting His Wife, Rich and Inhumane

The two stayed in bed together all day, and only left home the next morning to go to Lingyin Temple.

Along the way, Si Muyan was very sleepy and kept sleeping with her eyes closed.

Her head rested on his shoulder, and Huo Si kept his back straight, protecting her head with his hands.

Si Muyan slept all the way until she arrived at Lingyin Temple, where she finally woke up.

Si Muyan stretched her body and moved her neck: "We are finally here, Brother Si, let's go."

As she spoke, Si Muyan was about to rush down, but she froze.

"What's wrong?" Huo Si said in a low voice.

With a blush on her cheeks, Si Muyan said coquettishly: "It hurts."

Looking at the resentful look, Huo Si immediately understood, with a smile in his eyes, and carried her off the bed.

"Brother Si, you have to restrain yourself." Si Muyan poked his chest and said seriously.

Huo Si chuckled: "I heard something before."

"What?"

"I can't control myself." Huo Si replied slowly.

Upon hearing this, Si Muyan walked inside embarrassedly.

Walking into Lingyin Temple, I saw Si Muyan kneeling before the Buddha devoutly, with her hands clasped together, pious and serious.

"Why haven't I seen you so pious before?" Huo Si was curious.

Si Muyan looked at him and explained, "There were many deaths in this plane crash, and you are the only one who escaped death. I think it may be because you believe in Buddhism and have Buddha in your heart, so the Buddha blessed you and you survived."

She was very grateful to God for allowing Huo Si to continue to stay by her side. She felt that perhaps there was a god in the dark.

"I used to have Buddha in my heart, but now I have you in my heart." Huo Si held her hand and said in a low voice.

"Brother Si, I have decided. I will come to worship on the first and fifteenth of every month and pray that we can be together forever." Si Muyan said.

Huo Si raised an eyebrow: "Shouldn't we pray to Yue Lao? Let Yue Lao pull our red string tighter so it won't get loose."

Listening to his explanation, Si Muyan nodded seriously: "That makes sense. I'll go to the marriage tree now."

Having said that, Si Muyan spread her legs and ran out quickly.

Seeing this scene, a smile flashed in Huo Si's eyes.

Si Muyan trotted all the way to the marriage tree.

Because it was the weekend, many young couples were already standing under the marriage tree.

Si Muyan took a deep breath to adjust her breathing. When her breathing became smoother, she walked to the little monk beside her and wrote her and Huo Si's birthdays on a wooden sign.

"The higher you hang the wooden sign, the more Yue Lao can hear your prayers and feel your sincerity," the young monk explained.

Si Muyan nodded: "I will definitely let Yue Lao hear it."

Si Muyan said as she began to aim and throw the wooden sign upwards.

The marriage tree at Lingyin Temple is very effective, so many people come here to pray for love. The marriage tree is already full of wooden plaques.

She found that the wooden sign should not be hung too low, otherwise it would be easily knocked down by others when they threw the sign.

Thinking of this, Si Muyan tried hard to throw the wooden sign high up.

It’s not easy to hang on a high place. Si Muyan kept throwing herself up and dropping her down.

Repeating the same movements over and over again, running back and forth breathlessly.

Ten minutes later, Si Muyan felt tired.

Holding her chest and feeling her rapid heartbeat, Si Muyan opened her mouth and took deep breaths.

She felt her asthma coming back.

Si Muyan took out the spray from her pocket and took a few deep puffs.

Just as she was taking the medicine, a girl's voice came over: "You look so sick, and you're still thinking about finding a partner. What are you thinking?"

"Don't talk nonsense. The girl is pretty. There's no need to ask for a marriage partner." A male voice came.

Seeing her boyfriend defending Si Muyan, the girl's face instantly showed jealousy: "So what if she's pretty? Look at how fragile she is. Do you men like to look for medicine bottles?"

Her boyfriend pulled her sleeve, signaling her to talk less.

Seeing this, the girl deliberately raised her voice and looked at Si Muyan: "I advise you not to ask for it. With your weak body, you won't be able to throw this wooden sign onto the marriage tree even if you throw it all day."

"This is my business." Si Muyan frowned slightly.

"Look at your voice, it's like a mosquito. Mr. Yue is old and may be hard of hearing and can't hear what you say." The girl said proudly.

Seeing the contempt in the girl's eyes, Si Muyan just opened her mouth to refute, and then she heard Huo Si's cold voice: "Who said that Yue Lao couldn't hear her prayers?"

Si Muyan glanced sideways and saw Huo Si coming to her side.

Seeing Huo Si's face that was so handsome that it infuriated both humans and gods, the girl was infatuated for a moment.

"Go tell the abbot that I want to book the entire Lingyin Temple today, and no pilgrims are allowed in the entire temple." Huo Si ordered expressionlessly.

When the little monk saw that it was him, he quickly spread out his short legs and ran towards the inner hall.

Hearing his words, the girl was surprised and quickly put away her fangirling: "This is a temple, you can't just rent it out. We are all pilgrims, and everyone has the right to be here."

"Yes, yes." The others echoed.

Huo Si sneered: "Whether it can be done or not is not up to you."

Just as the girl was about to speak, dozens of monks appeared in formation. Then, the leading monk ran up to Huo Si and asked, "Master Huo, I heard you're planning to book the entire place."

"That's right." Huo Si's eyes were cold. "My wife wants to pray at the Marriage Tree, and I don't want any noise to disturb her. As a reward for clearing the area, I will donate five million to repair the temple."

Hearing this, everyone at the scene gasped.

Just as the girl was about to speak, Huo Si said calmly, "If you are willing to donate one million, I can give you a chance to stay."

The girl's face flushed red. She was told that she couldn't donate even ten thousand, not one million, to the temple.

Upon hearing this, the master said kindly, "Donor Huo and Madam Huo are sincere, and our temple will naturally make things convenient for you."

After saying this, the master glanced at the monks. The monks understood and immediately began to send the pilgrims away.

Some pilgrims had objections, but because they were unwilling to spend money lavishly like Huo Si, they had to leave in embarrassment.

When the girl was about to be sent away, Huo Si said, "Wife, you don't have to be so loud. Even if your voice is not loud, you are the only one in the entire Lingyin Temple praying so devoutly, and Yue Lao will be able to hear you."

Knowing that she was being implied, the girl's face turned red and white, and she left in embarrassment.

Soon, he and she were the only ones left.

"Brother Si, it's actually okay. It goes in one ear and out the other. It has no effect on me." Si Muyan said softly as her breathing finally became smooth.

Huo Si stroked her head and said, "I won't allow anyone to say a bad word about you."

Seeing the determination in his eyes, Si Muyan felt a warm feeling in her heart.

"Even if you want to make a living, you don't need five million. It's too expensive." Si Muyan felt distressed.

Huo Si raised his chin slightly and replied proudly, "I have money and I can do whatever I want."
