Chapter 10 Campus Goddess White Moonlight 10 Overnight

Seeing that the thunder was still roaring outside the window and the weather showed no sign of improving, Ji Hanlin sighed slightly and finally gave in.

In this extreme typhoon weather, it would not be safe to force Wen Qianning to go back.

"Stay." He said, turning around to find a set of clean home clothes and handed it to her, "Go take a shower first."

Wen Qianning took the home clothes and hesitated for a moment at the bathroom door.

"I don't have any change of clothes..." she said a little embarrassedly, "Um, underwear."

Ji Hanlin was making her bed, and when he heard this, he paused. He turned to look at her, his expression calm, "Wash first, take it off, and I'll help you."

"Deal with it?" She was stunned for a moment, her eyes widening slightly.

"I washed it and put it in the dryer. It dried in half an hour." Ji Hanlin said it naturally, as if he was just explaining some kind of life process, but his red ears still exposed his inner shyness.

Wen Qianning didn't move, just stood there looking at him.

He had originally lowered his eyes, but at that moment he raised his head and met her gaze, his voice low: "I won't look around."

Her eyelashes trembled, then she nodded slightly and turned into the bathroom.

After the door closed, Wen Qianning leaned against the door and let out a sigh.

Help... Why does the male protagonist have to wash such a private thing? I really want to find a building to jump off. After she realized that she had made a stupid mistake, she slapped her red cheeks hard.

In the living room, Ji Hanlin took her clothes to the balcony, washed them by hand, and then put them in the dryer. He moved quickly, but also tried to be gentle.

About half an hour later, he had folded the dried underwear, then knocked gently on the bathroom door and handed it to her wrapped in a clean white towel.

Wen Qianning blushed as she opened the door a little and stretched out an arm to receive it. Her fair arm was clean and smooth, still stained with wet water droplets.

Ji Hanlin was stunned and subconsciously looked away, but his fingertips accidentally touched her. The girl's skin, still warm from the shower, felt incredibly soft to the touch.

"Thank you." She said hurriedly and quickly closed the bathroom door.

After handing over the clothes, he turned around and left, walking faster than usual, as if a step slower would reveal some unbearable emotion in his heart.

Ji Hanlin leaned on the sofa with his head lowered, the tips of his ears still tinged with pink.

Her "thank you" just now was so soft and sweet. He actually wanted to hear it again.

Wen Qianning finished her shower and changed into her freshly dried clothes. When she came out, Ji Hanlin seemed to be deliberately avoiding her, not daring to look at her, and hid in the bathroom.

Wen Qianning: "..." What did she do to him? She should be the one who is shy!

There was a dim standing lamp in the room, making the whole house soft and quiet.

She lay on the bed and played with her cell phone for a while. When she felt her eyes were a little sleepy, she sat up and stared blankly for a while.

Until her eyes accidentally fell on the low cabinet next to the bedside table, she saw an unlocked wooden box placed there.

Wen Qianning just glanced at it, not wanting to touch it. But as if by magic, she stood up, moved closer, then squatted down and slowly opened the lid of the box.

For a moment, her breathing stopped.

The necklace Bi Shiwen had mentioned, the one Wen Qianning needed to obtain for her grand adventure, now lay quietly in the center of the box. The silver-white necklace reflected a faint glow under the light.

Wen Qianning stood there in a daze, his fingertips suspended in the air, neither extending nor retracting.

"What are you looking at?"

The bathroom door suddenly opened, and in the mist, Ji Hanlin walked out wearing a black T-shirt and home pants. His hair was still wet and his face was still hot.

He looked down and saw Wen Qianning holding the box, and his footsteps paused slightly.

Wen Qianning was startled and closed the box almost reflexively. She was a little bewildered for a moment and hurriedly explained, "I didn't mean to touch your things. I was just looking through them out of boredom."

"Yeah." Ji Hanlin walked to the bedside, but did not snatch the box away. He just lowered his eyes and looked at her, with a bit of silence and a hint of inquiry in his eyes.

"Well..." She sat on the edge of the bed holding the box, bit her lip, and suddenly raised a cautious smile, "Today is your birthday, right?"

"Um."

"I didn't give you a gift." She lowered her voice, "Then... give me one?"

Ji Hanlin's eyebrows moved slightly, his eyes fell on the box in her arms, and he didn't say whether he agreed or not. He just reached out and took the towel from her hand, gently covering her hair, "Blow your hair first, don't catch a cold."

Wen Qianning sat there obediently, her head gently tilted back against his chest. Ji Hanlin's earlobes flushed slightly as he silently picked up the hair dryer and turned it to warm. His other hand gently played with her damp hair.

He blew the hair carefully, patiently smoothing each strand before gently drying it. His movements were natural and gentle, with a sense of restraint, as if he was protecting a treasure that he dared not touch easily.

After a few minutes, he turned off the hairdryer and put the towel aside.

"alright."

Wen Qianning smiled and hugged Ji Hanlin's waist, rubbing against him reluctantly, "You are so nice."

She didn't notice that his ears were red again.

"This necklace is a gift from my mother." Ji Hanlin was silent for a moment, then casually mentioned it, his tone somewhat hesitant. "That should be it? Actually, I don't know where it came from... but I've been wearing it since I was a child."

"When I was a child, I was abducted by human traffickers. Fortunately, they were caught by the police not long after, and I was placed in an orphanage. I was too young at the time and can't remember many things. I just vaguely remember that this is something my mother gave me."

When Wen Qianning heard him bring up his childhood, she was stunned for a moment and didn't know how to respond.

"Ji Hanlin..." She thought for a moment, then hugged him gently.

Ji Hanlin buried his head in Wen Qianning's neck, greedily breathing in the fragrance of her hair.

After an unknown amount of time, the young man released her, opened the box, and twisted the chain between his fingers. He leaned over and gently passed around her from behind, carefully wrapping the silver chain around her neck, and then fastened the hidden clasp behind her neck.

The necklace was cold against her skin.

Ji Hanlin stepped back a little and looked at her.

"It looks nice," he said. "Just wear it like this."

Ji Hanlin's tone was calm, but his eyes were far from calm. He stared at her with such intensity that it seemed as if he could see through her.

The next moment, the boy suddenly leaned over and kissed her.

His kiss was so gentle and serious that her long-held patience finally found an outlet. Wen Qianning's heart was beating wildly. She slowly closed her eyes, hugged him back, and climbed her arms onto his back.

After a long time, he let her go.

Both of them were breathing heavily. Ji Hanlin pressed his hand against her forehead, his voice low and hoarse:

"You provoked me first."

His eyes were too intense, and Wen Qianning shrank into his arms in fear, her heart beating like a drum that couldn't be hidden: "I...I want to sleep."

Ji Hanlin chuckled, carried the girl to the bed, and covered her with a blanket considerately.

"good evening."

The door clicked shut, and the room was plunged into darkness. Wen Qianning buried half of her face in the quilt. After a long time, her head was still dizzy and she hadn't fully recovered.

She hadn't expected the hero to simply give her the necklace without asking any questions. Does this mean the important breakup moment in the original novel is about to arrive?
