Chapter 8: The Thug in Suit

Looking at the simple ingredients in front of her, Chen Man took the small basin, walked into the main room, and stood outside the threshold to ask.

"Grandma, this vegetable garden in front of our house belongs to us, right?"

Fortunately, grandma’s ears were still good, and she could hear without being called out, “Yes, there should be vegetables in the garden. I know how they are growing, but I didn’t care about them. If you want to eat them, go get them.”

"Then I'll go get some cucumbers. I saw some yesterday. Can we have noodles this morning?"

"Yes, be careful not to get hurt."

"Won't."

Grandma sat on the bed and sighed. She was a delicate girl who grew up in a big city.

He came to the countryside to take care of an old lady. His filial piety was great and his attitude was good. I thought I would just live like this for a few days and then pass away quietly, but I didn't expect that there would be a filial child to take care of me before I died.

She felt very comforted, but at the same time she felt sorry for Chen Man.

Chen Man walked into the garden happily, exploring the joy of harvest.

The cucumbers are short and plump, and they smell like cucumbers. Chen Man is secretly happy. The countryside is so good. It is so reassuring to eat vegetables grown by yourself.

Next to them were purple eggplants and beans with bamboo shoots, as well as peppers and big red tomatoes.

There are also leeks and onions on the edge of the garden.

Chen Man picked three cucumbers, some tomatoes, and some green onions, put them in a basin, and rinsed them under the tap.

The cute cucumber is crisp and refreshing when you bite it.

She walked into the house with a smile on her face.

Making a fire is simple.

Put the firewood in and light it with a lighter.

It's just that the firewood burns too quickly, so we have to add new firewood soon.

I guess it’s because my grandmother is too old and can’t go to the mountain to collect firewood for burning the scriptures.

After the pan is hot, add lard, and the lard will melt quickly in the pan.

Chen Man fried two eggs and put them on a plate for later use.

Pour water into the pot, a sizzling sound is heard, and after the water boils, two people's worth of noodles are put in.

Take two clean white porcelain bowls and put in half a spoonful of lard, chopped green onions, and salt.

If you don’t have other seasonings, just make do.

Stir-fried some shredded cucumber and diced tomatoes.

Actually, you can just eat it raw, but my mother used to always say that breakfast in the countryside is cooked rice, with both vegetables and rice.

Chen Man was thinking about her grandmother, so she didn't cook, but she still casually fried two dishes.

Just when she was about to serve the noodles and dishes, Junyang's grandmother's voice rang out outside the house.

"Chen Man, Chen Man?"

Chen Man put down the hot bowl and walked out.

Seeing the bowl in Junyang's grandmother's hand, she knew that breakfast had arrived. Chen Man was instantly warmed by her.

A distant relative is not as good as a close neighbor.

If I were still far away in Linhai City, my grandmother would really be relying on her neighbors to survive.

"grandmother."

"Chen Man, I cooked porridge this morning and brought it over for you."

Chen Man was filled with gratitude. "Thank you! My grandmother is so lucky to have a kind-hearted neighbor like you looking after her. I'm so grateful. I made breakfast myself. Would you like a bowl of noodles?"

When Junyang's grandmother heard this, she said in surprise, "Oh my, she can even cook after just arriving. You are really capable, little sister. I'll go and see."

Chen Man smiled and moved aside.

Grandma Junyang entered the kitchen and saw two bowls of noodles and two plates of vegetables on the stove.

He smiled and praised her for being so amazing that she could even use an earthen stove.

"Grandma, would you like something to eat?"

"No, no, I don't like noodles. Take a bowl and clear out the porridge so your grandma can eat it when she wants."

"good."

Junyang's grandmother stepped out of the door and turned back to say to her, "Oh, I almost forgot, Junyang asked you to come to my yard after dinner and call him, saying that you are going out to buy something today and can take his car."

"Yes, there are many things missing. I'll have breakfast quickly."

After breakfast, Chen Man went upstairs to get her parasol and backpack.

The weather was nice, the sun was shining a little, and the cicadas in the trees were chirping non-stop.

As soon as she walked out of the yard, across the street, Chen Man saw Xu Junyang at a glance.

He was leaning outside the car smoking, smoke slowly coming out of his mouth. His eyes met Chen Man's, and he looked aloof and arrogant.

Honestly, Chen Man could drool over hundreds of men like this online, but meeting even one in real life would scare her. She was too timid to even deal with such a superior man.

He is not wearing a suit today like he was yesterday. The suit thugs are probably the kind of people they are talking about.

He was wearing a pair of light-colored jeans and a simple, casual light blue shirt. The buttons were not fully buttoned, revealing a large area of his chest, giving him a lazy and sexy look.

His temperament is not as youthful and sunny as that of a college student, but more manly and mature.

There are no bulging muscles on the arms, but the lines are clear and they look very powerful.

It is rare to meet such a handsome and well-dressed man in life. I even feel a little embarrassed to look at him a few more times.

"Good morning, Xu, uh..."

"Get in the car." Xu Junyang put out the cigarette and threw it into the trash can outside. The look of surprise on her face when she saw him was in his mind, and he got in the car as if nothing had happened.

Chen Man felt secretly embarrassed, not knowing what to call him appropriately.

The car was moving slowly and turned the corner to meet a young mother who was playing with her mobile phone while walking, with a little boy walking slowly and unsteadily following behind her.

She looked up inadvertently, her face full of surprise, and stopped the car.

Chen Man glanced at Xu Junyang, and he stepped on the brakes.

"Jun Yang, where are you going? Bring me a package."

Speaks Mandarin in a carefree tone.
