Chapter 52: Concern and confusion
Fu Chengyun leaned back in his chair and pressed his brows with his knuckles.
The boring meeting exhausted him, and the conspiracies revealed by Fu Linyu made him even more irritated.
After taking a sip of red tea to calm his anger, he didn't have time to think about the plan of that bastard Fu Linyu. He sat up straight in his chair, turned on the computer immediately, and reread the summary of the meeting content.
The company is going to hold a press conference next, mainly to introduce the company's internal welfare facilities and prepare for the introduction of high-quality talents. It is also to break the various negative news caused by Ning Che through a thriving current situation and rebuild the image of the Fu family.
Less than a minute after the internal call was connected, Assistant Lin was standing opposite the president's desk.
Fu Chengyun handed her a stack of documents and said, "Deploy this and select influential media outlets to attend the press conference."
"Okay." Assistant Lin reminded carefully, "My wife called. Do you think you should reply?"
Fu Chengyun then remembered to take out his cell phone and saw a long string of "My Little Fox" on the missed calls.
Five calls, and each call was less than a minute apart.
Fu Chengyun asked worriedly: "What's his tone? Is he anxious?"
"Madam was very calm, and her tone wasn't anxious," Assistant Lin replied, then suddenly, as if remembering something, added, "And she was very polite."
Fu Chengyun's heart, which had just been put at ease, suddenly became heavy again.
polite?
Should this word be used to describe Ning Che? You can say he is rude, arrogant, and insolent, but he has nothing to do with politeness.
Could it be that the little fox caught a cold yesterday and has a fever today?
Or did you take the wrong medicine before you sobered up?
Or was it that some bad guys invaded the house and beat the little fox silly?
………
No matter which one it was, it made him feel uncomfortable.
Fu Chengyun couldn't sit still any longer, eager to get home. He closed his laptop, tucked it under his arm, and rushed out of the office door.
A black commercial vehicle sped through the dense and intersecting canopy of poplar trees. The sunlight passed through the layers of leaves, casting a patch of light and dark spots.
A gentle breeze caressed my face, bringing a cool and comfortable feeling. The journey from work to home took only twenty minutes. Yet, Fu Chengyun felt uneasy in the back seat.
Now he was convinced that Fu Linyu's words had a lot to do with Ning Che, a relationship that was unclear due to layers of fog.
He tried to sort out everything about Fu Linyu.
Fu Linyu came to apologize and mentioned Ning Che in his words;
After Mr. Li sent a dancer to Ning Che, Fu Linyu colluded with Mr. Li;
Fu Linyu barked for no reason, and Ning Che made six phone calls.
Fu Chengyun shuddered as if something cold was crawling up his spine. He seemed to have glimpsed the tip of the iceberg created by a huge conspiracy.
Maybe! Fu Linyu's target wasn't the company, let alone himself, but Ning Che!
"Old Hu, drive faster!"
He concluded that Fu Linyu must have taken action against Ning Che. Although the little fox was quite skilled, two fists could not defeat four hands. Besides, if Fu Linyu really wanted to attack, it shouldn't be difficult to grab a gun.
His heart was tightening, his hands were clenched in his knees until they turned white, and he stared at the buildings speeding past on the side of the road, wishing he could grow a pair of wings and fly home in the shortest time possible.
In order to save time on the elevator going up and down, he asked Lao Hu to park the car outside the courtyard gate, got out of the car and trotted to open the gate.
As he stepped onto the porch, the first glimpse he caught out of the corner of his eye froze him in place.
An irregular circular piece of stone lay on the marble floor in the middle of the living room. The bright red was dazzling and shocking, and the ceramic fragments radiated outwards, each one piercing Fu Chengyun's heart.
The little fox is injured? !
He began to shout without hesitation: "Cheche!"
"Ning Che!"
He rushed into the living room and began to search aimlessly. His voice trembled as he asked, "Where are you?"
“Don’t scare me!”
Fu Chengyun walked in and out of the rooms at a brisk pace, but he didn't see Ning Che. After leaving Butler Li's room, he walked into the restaurant with a last glimmer of hope.
Although Ning Che never cooks, what if?
He was anxious to confirm Ning Che's safety and was unwilling to miss any possibility.
His hurried footsteps stopped at the restaurant door, his eyes were bloodshot!
The dried blood on the restaurant floor was like the last straw that broke the camel's back. Fu Chengyun punched the table and roared:
"Fu Linyu, I want you to die!"
"Keep your voice down~"
A voice came from the guest room on the third floor, with some anger in it.
Fu Chengyun moved his head with difficulty and looked slowly in the direction of the sound in disbelief.
Around the corner by the third-floor staircase, a figure leaned against the carved mahogany railing, like a graceful white rose. His long hair cascaded down in front of him like a stream of ink, making his moon-white pajamas look exceptionally clean.
Ning Che lowered his head and looked at the angry man downstairs. His eyelashes trembled. His eyes flickered for a moment, as if there was tenderness, but also as if there was nothing.
The strands of hair fell on his straight nose, and he reached out to brush them away. His knuckles were long and slender, glistening like jade in the sunset.
Ning Che watched Fu Chengyun's resolute and sharp face change from worry to anger, from anger to daze, and from daze to joy.
A trickle of warmth flowed through his heart, and he couldn't help but smile.
"Grandpa Li and Auntie Li are resting because they are frightened. Don't wake them up."
A warm current flowed into Fu Chengyun's head again, and a smile of surviving a disaster suddenly appeared on his face.
He ran up the three steps to Ning Che and hugged his treasure as if it were a treasure.
"Baby, you scared me to death."
The voice carried the aftershock of a great shock. Ning Che's heart trembled, but his tone remained as defiant as ever.
"What can two mere soldiers do to me?"
Fu Chengyun: ...
As expected, politeness had nothing to do with him. But it didn't matter anymore.
He buried his face in Ning Che's neck, and the faint rose scent soothed Fu Chengyun's thoughts. He held Ning Che's face in his hands, his eyes tender and affectionate. "I'm glad you're okay."
"Um."
Ning Che hummed through his nose, his long eyelashes drooping slightly, with a matter-of-fact look on his face.
"So cute." Fu Chengyun kissed the hair that hung in front of him. His hands were always wrapped around Ning Che's waist, unwilling to leave even a little bit.
He lowered his head slightly, staring at the two thin lips in front of him and asked, "Did that blood belong to just two soldiers?"
Ning Che rolled his eyes at him, shook off his dirty hands, and walked down the stairs by himself. After walking down two steps, he turned back and pulled Fu Chengyun down with him.
A slightly cool temperature clung to his palm, the unique body temperature of the little fox. Fu Chengyun glanced at him from the side. The corner of his lips was slightly raised, and he seemed to be in a good mood.
Are you in a good mood after smashing two heads?
The two of them went to the study on the second floor. Ning Che arrived at the door before Fu Chengyun and pushed it open. He leaned against the door and stared at Fu Chengyun.
Her pointed chin tilted upwards, her lips curled into a proud arc, and her eyes arched slightly. Her face was filled with the words "I'm awesome! Praise me!"
At the same time, Fu Chengyun couldn't help but take a breath.
He rarely let go of Ning Che's hand, put it in his trouser pocket without leaving a trace, and secretly touched his thigh. At the same time, he turned his neck stiffly and looked at Ning Che.
He mobilized all the muscles on his face and forced a smile.
"Baby, you, you are so amazing!"
