Chapter 6: Reconciliation, but not much
Seeing his expression ease up a bit, Butler Li felt relieved. His experience in the Demon Cult had given him excellent adaptability. He believed that it wouldn't take long for Ning Che to adapt to life here.
Butler Li patted Ning Che's head and said, "This world is completely different from ours. Don't wander around. Settle down here. I'm here to take care of you. I've watched Fu Chengyun grow up. Although he has a lot of tricks, he's a kind child."
Ning Che got angry when Fu Chengyun was mentioned. "You're just partial to him!"
"Oh, I watched him grow up, and I watched you grow up too. Both the palms and the backs of my hands are made of flesh and blood. I feel bad when you tell me that I am partial to someone." Butler Li was at his wit's end, looking at Ning Che with a bitter face.
Ning Che snorted coldly, "Then you still let him bully me."
"He just said something loudly, and you went up and hit him. Who's bullying whom?"
Ning Che thought about it and it seemed to be the case.
After all, I have to settle down here and temporarily rely on him. It's better not to make enemies until my health improves.
Butler Li patted his head, stood up and said, "You are a smart child. You know what is best for you. I will go find Cheng Yun to apologize on your behalf."
"You're not allowed to go!" Ning Che retorted subconsciously. "He even drugged me! He deserves to be beaten!"
Butler Li glanced at his wrist. The suppression bracelet was still there, and the rose fragrance was still emanating from it. He realized that he was still in a susceptible period.
But seeing that they had slept together last night, he assumed Ning Che had understood the reason for his abnormality, so he didn't explain. He just smiled and said, "If you feel unwell, go find him. You'll be fine after a good night's sleep."
"I slept with it yesterday and it didn't get better." Ning Che asked.
"Then get some more sleep." Seeing Ning Che's mood improve, Butler Li felt relieved. After telling him to get some rest, he closed the door and went downstairs. He saw Fu Chengyun lying on the sofa downstairs, holding a mirror and applying medicine to himself with a grin.
Butler Li took the cotton ball and said, "Don't blame him. The child just has a bad temper. He is actually kind and simple, and a good child."
"What's your relationship?" Fu Chengyun asked, leaning back on the sofa. He had a hunch that these two people were hiding something from him.
Butler Li had anticipated that he would not be able to hide the truth, so he lied calmly, "He is my distant grandson from my hometown. I have watched him grow up. Today can be considered a reunion after a long separation."
"Reunited after a long time? Playing role-playing games right after meeting?"
The room was quiet for a few minutes.
"Well, this kid..." Butler Li reacted and laughed awkwardly, "He's had a dream of becoming a martial artist since he was a child."
He felt it was ridiculous after he finished speaking, and hurried to comfort Fu Chengyun. "The company requires that he must immerse himself in the role. Isn't this kid dedicated to his job? I just told him off, and he knows he's wrong. He's a little boy! He's so shy. Isn't this asking me to apologize on his behalf?"
Fu Chengyun was skeptical. Dedication to one's job was a good thing, and it was a good opportunity for her to stay and play the role of her lover, so that she wouldn't be easily exposed if she pretended to be pregnant later.
But this was flammable and explosive. He paused for a few minutes and then asked, "Is he really just a little wild model?"
Butler Li, seeing he was losing his ability to deceive, tried his best to conceal his panic. He paused for two seconds, took a deep breath, and then, as if ready to reveal his true colors, said, "No."
"What else is he?"
Butler Li thought for a moment and said, "He's also a martial arts champion."
…
"Is this true?"
Fu Chengyun was surprised that he had caught up with all the new things in the past two days.
Butler Li nodded stiffly. "Really?" Seeing Fu Chengyun stop talking, his brows knitted together again. He quickly added, "Actually, this kid is quite easy to get along with."
"I just have a bad temper." Fu Chengyun would answer quickly.
But now that things had come to this, there was nothing else to do but keep quiet. Who had asked me to bring someone home without asking any questions? However, Ning Che's skill had already been revealed at the engagement party, and I had made a mistake in my confusion and overlooked this point.
Fu Chengyun frowned. He felt that he had to deal with more than just the old fox Fu Chen.
Housekeeper Li packed up the medicine box and told Auntie to reheat the food. After all the commotion, everyone was still hungry. Fu Chengyun ate a few bites in the restaurant and then went into the study to remotely handle matters related to tomorrow's wedding.
Ning Che stayed in the guest room and refused to come out, so Butler Li could only bring him another portion and watch him eat.
When Fu Chengyun came out of the study, the sun was already setting.
The study door faces the floor-to-ceiling windows of the living room. Looking from afar, the orange-red sunset covers the sky, and the blazing flames of Chifeng connect the sky and the horizon.
The light gradually dimmed, and the unique aura contained in the world was just like that person, strong, unrestrained, and vigorous, yet deliberately restrained.
"Where is he?"
The aunt came upstairs with two bowls of bird's nests, handed one to Fu Chengyun, and replied, "I've been in the guest room all afternoon."
Fu Chengyun was in no mood to eat. He waved his hand and asked casually, "What are you doing in the guest room?"
"watch TV."
Who would actually watch an afternoon of TV these days? I'd believe him playing games or on his phone. But then Fu Chengyun thought again: he'd never ridden in a nice car, slept in a good bed, or tasted strawberry cake. He'd been so dedicated to playing a shameful ancient costume game just to make a living. It seemed normal for such a poor man to never have watched TV.
He doesn't have a cell phone either. How about I buy him one?
While he was thinking, his aunt had already walked out of the guest room, carrying a plate of food. Fu Chengyun glanced at the clean, empty bowl. His anger was rekindled.
I'm so depressed that I have no appetite. But they eat my food, live in my house, watch my TV, and even beat me!
I even bought him a cell phone! I'm such a jerk!
He picked up another bowl of bird's nest, drank it all, and returned to his room angrily.
The bedroom door banged loudly, and Ning Che, who was in the adjoining guest room, heard it clearly. He curled up in his bed, covered in his quilt, his dizziness and weakness worsening. Even lunch and porridge didn't provide much relief.
There was no scent of cedar in this room, only an increasingly strong rose fragrance. Ning Che didn't understand why the stronger the scent, the more obvious his discomfort became.
He stumbled out of bed and opened all the windows.
The evening breeze was already cool, ruffling the strands of hair on my forehead and relieving the heat in my body. But it was only for a moment.
After standing for a while, his vision went black and he fell back onto the bed. His body curled up in pain, but his mind was still trying to stay clear, his eyes dark and shiny.
Grandpa Li said that this person was kind by nature, which meant that he would not be in danger here.
Grandpa Li also said that if I feel unwell, I should sleep more, which means that sleeping with him can relieve my discomfort.
Grandpa Li also said that I hit someone first and that I was wrong.
…
After a fierce ideological struggle, Ning Che jumped up from the bed.
When Fu Chengyun opened the door in her light silk pajamas, she saw a large white silk silkworm pupa leaning against the door, swaying precariously.
His first reaction was speechlessness, and his second reaction was nervousness. Fu Chengyun instinctively took a step back, distanced himself from the silkworm pupa, and asked defensively: "What are you going to do?"
Ning Che took two steps forward to shorten the distance before emerging from under the quilt.
Her high ponytail was disheveled, her forehead was covered in sweat, her delicate face was pale with a blush, her long eyelashes drooped listlessly on her eyelids, her mouth was slightly open with heavy breathing.
There is a kind of sad beauty in it, like a withered rose.
Ning Che remained silent and took two more steps forward. He pressed himself against Fu Chengyun through the quilt, eagerly sniffing the faint cedar scent on him.
A furry head sticks to my chest, sniffing around clingily, as cute as a little animal acting coquettishly.
The remaining half of Fu Chengyun's anger completely disappeared.
I seem to be a bit mean!
He sighed, pulled Ning Che out from the thick silk quilt, released strong pheromones to wrap him up, and helped him sit on the bed.
"When you're angry, you hit me, and when you need me, you act pathetic!"
"What do you take me for? A tool?"
"I didn't even apologize before using it!"
Fu Chengyun held Ning Che in his arms and whispered angrily in his ear.
"Sorry." The voice was weak and soft, as thin as a mosquito's whisper. It came from his chest, but Fu Chengyun still heard it clearly.
"What?" He thought he was hallucinating and asked again. "What did you say?"
"Sorry," Ning Che repeated again, his voice a little louder than before.
He stayed in his room watching TV for the whole afternoon, and Butler Li also told him a lot about the rules of this world and the status of the Fu family.
Ning Che was deeply impressed by the level of advancement of this world, but he was extremely disdainful of the Fu family's dominance in City S.
I climbed up to the position of leader step by step through my own efforts. Fu Chengyun is just a local rich man who inherited his father's business!
But he was unfamiliar with the place and wanted to settle down and recover his strength as soon as possible. Fu Chengyun was undoubtedly the best choice.
Besides, I did start the fight first, so it’s not too much to apologize.
Under the influence of Fu Chengyun's pheromones, Ning Che's physical discomfort was greatly alleviated. He straightened up, looked at Fu Chengyun, and said seriously: "I will never hit you again."
Her long, curled eyelashes resembled two thin, cicada-like wings. Her dark, bright pupils shone with starlight. Her face was grave as she stared intently at Fu Chengyun.
"So beautiful!" Fu Chengyun was so blinded by the beauty that he didn't even feel the pain in his eyes.
Ning Che snorted coldly and thought: Using your beauty to serve others is shameful! If anyone wants to serve someone, it should be you who serves me!
The apology lasted only a moment, and he resumed his defiant look, raised his eyebrow and said, "You will still sleep with me today."
After saying that, he leaned back and lay flat on his back.
Fu Chengyun: ...Is this how you apologize?
You either beat me or sleep with me. You are so arrogant. Who are you?
Fu Chengyun got angry, sat still, and stopped emitting pheromones.
He folded his arms, turned around and looked at the person on the bed with cold eyes. A bad idea came to his mind: I want to see how long you can jump around without the comfort of pheromones!
Suddenly, the phone vibrated on the bed. The assistant sent a text message: "Mr. Fu, the omega you are with does not exist."
Fu Chengyun was stunned for a few seconds. No such person? Then she couldn't be a wild model sent by a small company. Who could she be?
Could he really be a martial arts champion?
In just a few seconds, he had imagined a tragic drama in his mind.
A young man, left alone and helpless, seeks refuge in a temple. Unexpectedly, he possesses exceptional physique and is a martial arts prodigy. Upon achieving fame at a young age, he finds himself in trouble. To protect the temple, he hides his identity and seeks refuge with his distant grandfather...
I didn't expect him to be such a pitiful person. Fu Chengyun's heart softened, and he released a higher concentration of pheromones to wrap around Ning Che.
Turning around, she noticed Ning Che was still wearing the same suit he wore during the day, and couldn't help but reach out to pull him away. "You can sleep on my bed, but you have to take a shower."
Ning Che thought so too, and stood up, arms outstretched, looking at Fu Chengyun.
"Change clothes?" Fu Chengyun laughed angrily: "Do I still have to bathe you?"
It wasn't that Ning Che didn't want to wash. He had gone to the guest room bathroom that afternoon and hadn't figured out how all those metal pipes worked, so he didn't clean himself.
Anyway, in the sect, servants are there to help with bathing and changing clothes, so it doesn't matter who you are.
"Okay."
Fu Chengyun regretted letting him in, and was even more distressed about the pheromones he released. He sat on the edge of the bed, pointed to the bathroom, and said coldly: "I don't care, don't get on my bed until you're clean!"
After saying that, he crawled into the quilt and replied to his assistant's message with his back to Ning Che.
Ning Che turned and looked at him, then carefully felt the changes in his body. He seemed to really be inseparable from him, but he had just promised not to hit him.
"Oh!" Ning Che sighed and regretted silently: I shouldn't have made the promise so early.
Helplessly, he could only walk into the bathroom. After staring at the big metal thing hanging on the wall for a few minutes.
Give up completely.
You say you don't care and you can just ignore it? This is a joke!
"Crackle, crackle, clatter! Ping! Pong! Ding! Dong! Bang! Bang! Boom!"
There were bursts of unusual noises coming from the bathroom, followed by a scream.
Within a minute, Fu Chengyun appeared barefoot at the bathroom door.
The small room looked like it had been brutally robbed.
Bottles and cans were scattered all over the floor, toothbrushes and towels were scattered here and there. Amidst this mess, a pitiful person lay slumped over.
In the mist, the man blinked his large, watery eyes and stared at him intently. His eyes were red, and he looked aggrieved. His voice was low, full of guilt. He said, "I don't know how to use it. Can you help me?"
