Chapter 14 She would have died long ago if she had any sense of shame
After coming out of the Yangxin Palace, Yun Ji felt as if a huge rock was pressing on his heart. Even though he tried his best to ignore it, he still found it difficult to breathe.
He headed out in silence, wanting to leave the palace as quickly as possible.
Suddenly a familiar fragrance entered my nose.
When he raised his eyes, he saw Su Rui standing against the palace wall with her sleeves fluttering. When she saw him coming, she immediately waved at him with a smile on her face.
"Mr. Yunji, what a coincidence."
Su Rui came forward familiarly.
When she reached out to hold his arm, Yun Ji calmly dodged to the side and walked straight forward.
Su Rui missed and almost stumbled and fell.
She cursed in her heart that even if this bastard turned his back on her, he should at least give her some face for waiting for him for so long in the hot sun.
But even though she complained, in this palace, with countless eyes staring at her, Su Rui could only turn around and quickly chase Yun Ji.
"Sir, please walk slower. I can't keep up. The maid who led the way has already left. If you don't lead me, I won't be able to leave the palace."
Yun Ji seemed to be oblivious to Su Rui's pretending to be pitiful, and did not slow down his pace at all.
He walked with long legs and big strides, and the corners of his robe didn't even flutter when he walked.
Su Rui followed behind but had to jog all the way to keep up with him. She went all the way to the outer palace gate and saw Yun Ji getting into the carriage and the coachman whipped the carriage to start.
You are not allowed to bring secret guards into the palace, otherwise someone will block your way once you leave the palace.
Su Rui gritted her teeth and leaped forward.
After rushing into the car, he couldn't hold on any longer and sat on the floor, gasping for breath with his mouth open like a fish out of water.
He was sweating all over, his hair and clothes were disheveled, his chest was heaving with heavy breathing, his clothes were opening and closing, his spring scenery was faintly visible, and the fragrance of his daughter filled the entire carriage.
In the narrow carriage, Yun Ji had nowhere to hide.
Thinking of how she had fallen into her trap a few days ago, she couldn't help but frown slightly. "Miss Su, this is the outer palace gate."
"So what? No one is allowed to breathe outside the palace gate?" Su Rui asked back. Turning around, she saw Yun Ji suppressing his displeasure under his sword-like brows. She smiled sweetly and said, "Then why don't you, Mr. Yun Ji, give me a glass of water to quench my thirst."
The water is right next to Yun Ji's hand.
He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and said calmly, "Miss Su, please get out of the car."
Yun Ji's tone was so polite that there was no emotion in it, but his eyes showed that there was no room for negotiation.
Looking at him, Su Rui's eyes were misty with grievance. She moved closer, but before she could speak, her hand was pushed quickly by something, and the sound of nails being nailed into wood rang in her ears.
When she looked up, she saw an iron half ring, locking her wrist tightly, unable to move.
This was a precaution.
"Mr. Yun Ji is so heartless. He held hands and whispered with my daughter just a few days ago, and now he treats me like this today." A tear fell from the corner of her eye, looking so pitiful.
Yun Ji showed no pity and calmly explained, "If the young lady had not used incense on me on the first night and forced me to use a plate of complementary wild vegetables on the second day, I would not have done this. It is all due to the medicinal properties. It is inherently heartless, so how can you say it is heartless."
I didn't expect Yun Ji to find out her methods so quickly.
She had obviously dealt with it all.
But Su Rui didn't feel guilty at all. Instead, she smiled and praised him, "Sir, you saw through me so quickly. You're really amazing."
While speaking, Su Rui's embroidered shoes gently teased Yun Ji's calves.
Yun Ji hadn't expected her to use her feet even though her hands were restrained. The numbing sensation made him move away immediately. A hint of anger flickered in his eyes, and he couldn't help but ask, "Miss Su, you are also a daughter of the Yong'an Marquisate. Don't you have any sense of shame?"
Su Rui's movements paused for a moment.
Shame?
She would have died long ago if she had any sense of shame.
He died on that snowy winter night. In order to preserve his reputation, he stabbed a wooden hairpin into his neck with all his strength, staining it red.
It was thrown out like a rag, no one knew about it, and was left to be eaten by hungry wild dogs.
"I don't have something that can kill me." Su Rui smiled calmly, "Does Mr. Yunji think that shame is more important than life?"
This question stumped Yun Ji.
He had never thought of putting shame and life on the same scale.
Throughout the ages, reputation has always been more important than anything else for women.
Death is a minor matter, but losing one's chastity is a major matter.
But Buddha said that all beings are equal.
Flowers, plants, livestock, and animals are all naked, without any sense of shame or integrity. They strive to grow and hunt, and the harmony of yin and yang is a living word.
Why would that person sacrifice his life for so-called shame and reputation?
Thinking about it this way, his question just now was inappropriate.
Just as he was about to answer Su Rui, Yun Ji suddenly felt something was wrong.
Looking up, Su Rui's hand had been freed from the iron half ring without him noticing, and she pounced towards him as nimbly as a cat. The curtain was blown up by the wind, and the guards were looking right at her.
As expected, we can't be lax with her at all.
Su Rui was so close that she was about to successfully throw herself into Yun Ji's arms, but his hand pushed her waist through his sleeve first.
The whole person turned around in an instant. Before he could react, a force hit his back and the car curtain passed over his face, blocking his vision. When he could see the scene clearly again, Su Rui had already flown out of the car.
I closed my eyes tightly, tightened my muscles, and was about to face the pain in my vertebrae when I felt a softness in my buttocks.
He glanced down and considerately gave her a cushion.
He has a kind heart, but no humanity at all.
Su Rui was trembling inwardly as she stood up, picked up the cushion, dusted it off, and shouted towards the carriage that had already left the palace: "Mr. Yunji, this is the first time I've seen this pillow used as an engagement token. But I understand your intentions, so I'll frame it and hang it above my bed when I get home."
In the carriage, Yun Ji's calm face cracked a little.
He silently recited Buddhist scriptures in his heart, strengthened his mind, and never let up on Su Rui in the future.
This person is not only shameless, but also cunning and extremely difficult to deal with.
But he didn't realize that the heavy pressure in his heart that made him breathless had quietly dissipated.
After Yun Ji's carriage disappeared, Su Rui also took the soft pillow and got on the marquis's carriage back to the mansion.
As soon as I entered the mansion, I saw Madam Liang, Su Ye, Zhou Yao and people from the second and third rooms coming out from behind the screen wall.
Su Ye had already cleaned himself up, but his face was full of indignation. When he saw Su Rui, his eyes were blazing with fire, and he wished he could burn her to ashes.
The Marquis's wife immediately came forward, looked him over carefully with concern, and asked, "Did your entry into the palace go smoothly? Did you encounter any difficulties?"
"No." Su Rui said perfunctorily and wanted to go inside.
The Marquis's wife, Lady Liang, stepped forward to stop her. Grabbing her hand, she said with a look of heartache, "Child, why didn't you come and tell me when you were wronged? If you hadn't asked the messenger to tell me today, I wouldn't have known your brother had done such a wicked thing."
Su Ye did not refute what Madam Liang said, but the word "dissatisfaction" was written on his face.
Seeing that everyone from the second and third rooms had arrived, Su Rui understood that Liang was going to play the role of a virtuous stepmother again.
But why are you in such a hurry?
