Chapter 129 A woman's pregnancy can't be hidden for more than a few months.

The taxi was driving on the road into the village.

Bo Wei gazed at the familiar scenery outside the window, feeling somewhat depressed.

People always have roots; this is where she grew up, so naturally she feels attached to it.

But now it has become a place she doesn't want to return to.

As the car drove further in, houses were scattered along both sides of the road.

She hadn't been back to this village for several years, and it had changed quite a bit; many of the houses were new.

On the left side of the road, a house covered with white tiles came into her view; that was her home.

Across from her house to the upper right, a new house had been built sometime ago, and three women were sitting at the entrance, looking relaxed.

One of the women in white was the same one who had seen Bo Wei at the hospital earlier that day.

As the taxi drew closer, everyone silently looked over.

Bo Wei didn't pay much attention. The distance was quite far, so she didn't need to greet them and pretended not to see them.

"Just stop here, driver. I can't make the decision here, so I won't invite you in. Just find somewhere to wait for me, and I'll call you when I'm done." She had chartered this car today.

The driver agreed and pulled the car over to the side of the road.

As Bo Wei got out of the car, she heard a noisy chatter coming from her house.

Inside the house, everyone heard the car stop.

"You're back? Let me see."

"It looks like a taxi, it should be."

Several people inside craned their necks to look, then stood up one after another and went to the door to peek.

Then I saw Bo Wei getting out of the car. She was tall and slender, wearing a black high-necked long dress. Her straight long hair was shiny and reflected the sunlight. Her black high heels gave her a fashionable and aloof aura.

Before leaving the hotel, she touched up her makeup, adding more eyeshadow and eyeliner, and lightly edging the outer corners of her eyes to make herself look more aloof and distant.

A soft-hearted person is always easily bullied.

She didn't believe that her family would let her have a proper meal and then let her leave after she returned home.

A middle-aged woman dressed in a modern Chinese-style suit walked briskly towards them, smiling warmly, "Oh, Weiwei's here!"

Bo Wei smiled at her, "Auntie."

Several more people followed, and when they saw Bo Wei, they tried to identify her.

Bo Wei greeted everyone one by one, "Uncle, son-in-law, maternal uncle, maternal aunt."

The men immediately put on warm smiles and said, "Come inside quickly."

She forced a smile and saw Zhao Shulan, wearing an apron, looking around as she walked out.

Upon seeing Bo Wei, Zhao Shulan was somewhat stunned. Was this stunningly beautiful woman really her daughter?

I haven't been home for Chinese New Year since I started university.

She hadn't seen him for several years, and he had changed so much that she almost didn't recognize him.

Seeing that her daughter didn't greet her, Zhao Shulan suppressed her displeasure and said, "You're back and you don't even know where you're from. People might think you don't have a home."

Bo Wei looked at the woman, who was wearing a dark blue dress, with an oval face, thick black hair, and a tall and slender figure. Even without skincare in the countryside, her skin was still much fairer and more delicate than that of her aunt of the same age next to her.

My feelings are very complicated.

This woman was her mother, and she inherited many of her traits, yet became the person she was least close to.

Even when they see obvious genetic traits in themselves, they feel a little uncomfortable.

She is very worried that as she gets older, she will become like her.

Because she believes in the power of genetic inheritance.

"Mom," Bo Wei called out softly.

Seeing that the two weren't getting along very well, the aunt quickly changed the subject, "Oh dear, they've come all this way to see you, what are you saying? The driver is still waiting, haven't you unpacked your luggage yet? Come on, let me help."

Bo Wei turned to the back of the taxi, opened the trunk, and took out a box of mooncakes and a box of milk.

My aunt came over with a smile to help carry it, but her smile became a little forced when she saw that there was only a black plastic bag left in the trunk.

You haven't been home for years, and you only bought two boxes of stuff when you came back?

Not wanting to ask directly, I instead asked, "Where's your luggage? You didn't bring it back? Where did you put it?"

Bo Wei noticed that as soon as she asked the question, everyone was looking at her with strange expressions.

She picked up the black plastic bag and closed the trunk. "My luggage is at the hotel."

Zhao Sulan was already embarrassed to see that she had brought back so few things, and when she heard that the luggage was in the hotel, she immediately became unhappy. "Why leave it in the hotel? You come back and don't stay at home but stay in a hotel. You have so much money."

Everyone remained silent.

Bo Wei looked at her, "Did they clean my room at home?"

Zhao Shulan felt a little guilty. "What do you mean by a room? You're not going to stay for more than a few days. After you leave, it'll just sit there collecting dust. I'm too lazy to clean it for you. Your brother and his family aren't upstairs. The sofa is incredibly spacious. It cost several thousand yuan. It's more comfortable than a bed."

Bo Wei had nothing to say.

She doesn't even have a room in such a big house.

I'm not feeling sad, just calm and indifferent. There's no point in arguing.

Although her aunt felt disdain, it was indeed outrageous that such a grown girl didn't have a room when she came back.

But saying this would offend people, so she kept it to herself and only advised, "Oh dear, what are you doing standing outside? Come inside and talk."

Once everyone entered the house, the few people who had been watching the commotion across the street turned their attention away and began to talk in hushed tones.

"Here you are, alone." The woman in white met their gazes meaningfully.

The short-haired woman thought carefully, "Is it her? But I don't think it looks quite right."

Another slightly plump woman glanced sideways and spoke disapprovingly, "How can they not look like country people? It's just that they're dressed so elegantly now, they look fashionable and don't seem like they're from the countryside. They've already gone inside, don't you think?"

The woman in white became increasingly certain of her guess. "He hasn't come back for several years, and now he's suddenly back. Something must have happened. Otherwise, at this time of year, all the young people would be out having fun. Who would come home and go straight to the hospital as soon as they get back?"

The short-haired woman nodded. "A woman's belly can't be hidden for more than a few months. If it's true, you should come back and discuss it quickly, or it won't look good."

The slightly plump woman sighed, "Sigh, back then she was such a good student and even won a 200,000 yuan bonus. I thought she would have a bright future. What a pity. After working for a year, I heard she didn't send a single penny home. I don't know what kind of job she was doing."

The woman in white said, "Indeed, she's the best student in the village. She went to university and hasn't come back for years. I wonder what she's up to."

The three of them chatted amongst themselves, making wild guesses.

Whenever they can't figure something out, their minds automatically fill in the worst possible scenario.

When Bo Wei entered the house, she saw her little nephew, who was going to learn street dance, lying on a stool scrolling through his phone.

"Ziyi, look who's back!" Auntie called to the little boy, "Come here quickly."

Bo Ziyi's eyes were glued to his phone, and he didn't hear a thing.

Bo Wei glanced at it only once before looking away indifferently.
