Chapter 41 Have you ever dreamed of me?

Chapter 41 Have you ever dreamed of me?

The next day.

Bo Wei brought up the coffee and then left.

Li He watched her figure disappear through the doorway.

Yesterday's reflections continue.

Does a person really have a past life? Did he really live in a book before? Everything in the dream was absurd and ridiculous in reality, but he felt as if he had experienced it firsthand.

If that was a book, then what about now? Is it the real world, or another book?

He grabbed the glass of water on the table and smashed it with a 'bang'.

The water glass smashed against the wall, leaving a deep mark. Li He stared at the mark quietly, then turned his gaze to the shards of glass scattered on the floor.

The wall will break, the cup will shatter.

The world seems a little more real now.

The people downstairs heard a loud 'bang' from upstairs, followed by a crashing sound of shattering.

The crowd exchanged bewildered glances, their hearts pounding with fear.

Why did President Li get so angry?

I've never seen it before.

In their eyes, President Li was a master strategist, and everything seemed to be within his plans. He was decisive and resolute, yet calm and composed.

today……

Bo Wei's reaction was even stronger than theirs.

Hearing the sound of shattering glass, she was startled, but then a hesitation arose in her heart. Cleaning the office was her responsibility, so should she go up and clean it now?

Assistant Jiang isn't here right now, otherwise I could ask him.

Never mind, let's talk about it later.

Going up now feels strange, like someone eagerly anticipating seeing President Li's performance, afraid of missing out if they're too late.

Okay, she pretended not to hear it.

She waited until noon. After lunch, she figured that President Li shouldn't be there, so this was the best time to clean. If she missed it, she would have to wait until tomorrow, which was too long.

She took her tools, opened the office door, and seeing that no one was behind the desk, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Upon entering, one is immediately struck by the sight of the man sitting on the sofa in the lounge area, smoking – none other than President Li.

She abruptly stopped, frozen in place, and the sound of her high heels vanished instantly.

She watched Mr. Li's retreating figure with bated breath, but dared not greet him. However, after a long while, she did not see Mr. Li turn around.

So, she felt relieved again and looked at the wall with a mark on it and the broken glass all over the floor.

The wall was damaged, severely undermining its aesthetic appeal.

There's broken glass everywhere, and I don't know if it can be cleaned up completely. I hope there aren't any shards left that could injure someone.

She smoothed her skirt with her hand, slowly squatted down, and carefully picked up the shards of glass around her.

A moment later.

The footsteps drew closer, and Li He was already standing in front of her, very close.

Bo Wei was a little nervous. He was wearing leather shoes and dress pants. She looked up at his incredibly long legs.

Li He looked down at her intently.

From this angle, Bo Wei felt extremely oppressed. Every cell in her body felt uncomfortable under his gaze, and she just wanted to avoid him.

She glanced at him quickly, unable to discern his emotions, then looked away and asked nervously, "Mr. Li, what are you doing?"

Li He slowly half-squatted beside her, meeting her gaze. It was the first time he had been so close to her. Her fair forehead, delicate eyebrows, fan-like eyelashes, pert nose, and rosy lips.

With just a touch of makeup, she is more beautiful than any flower.

"Have you ever dreamed?" he asked slowly, looking at her.

It was a meaningless question, yet he asked it so earnestly.

Bo Wei glanced at his eyes, puzzled, and nodded, waiting for him to continue.

Have you ever dreamed about me?

Bo Wei was startled, her pupils slowly dilated, and her heart pounded.

How did he know!

Almost instantly, she felt her face burning, the heat like being licked by flames.

She was in a very awkward situation.

Li He watched her rapidly changing expressions, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes.

I don't know if it was the question that made her shy, or if she really had dreamed about it and that's why she was shy.

"Hmm? You dreamed about it?" he asked softly.

Bo Wei didn't speak, and after holding it in for a long time, she finally turned the embarrassment on her face into anger, "President Li, what do you mean by asking that?"

Li He half-squatted in front of her, the distance between them ambiguous, and his gaze was full of aggression.

It's quite interesting to watch the rich and varied emotions on her face right now.

But then I thought again, we've finally managed to desensitize her a little and gradually lower her guard, we can't let it all go to waste.

"Sorry, I just dreamt about you last night."

Bo Wei's heart skipped a beat, and she looked sharply at Li He, but immediately looked away uncomfortably.

"You, you..." She couldn't get a straight answer.

Her helplessness turned to anger. How could he say that to her!

It's just a dream, it's not real, who's going to take it seriously! She dreamt about it but didn't even come to tell him!

"I dreamt that we lived in a book, and in that book, we were very close. Have you ever dreamt of that?"

Bo Wei: ...

"No."

"That dream felt so real; it would be even more incredible if you had dreamt it too. But now it seems it was just a vivid dream."

"What did you dream about us doing in the book?" she murmured to herself. What incredible dream could she have had?

Li He looked at her slowly, his eyes filled with an inscrutable expression.

Bo Wei met his gaze and immediately regretted asking the question.

"Making love..."

Bo Wei seemed to lose her heartbeat in an instant, and even stopped breathing.

What, what are you doing?!

"A project to cultivate mugwort into ginseng, and then extract an elixir of immortality to promote male fertility and childbirth." He spoke slowly, a faint smile in his eyes.

Bo Wei looked somewhat stunned.

After a long while, she imagined the scene based on his words, and it was both absurd and funny.

"...Heh~"

When she looked at him with smiling eyes, she saw that his eyes also held a smile, and that he had been looking at her the whole time.

That faint smile, falling into her eyes, was breathtaking. It felt like seeing the morning sun, making her inexplicably happy.

They looked at each other awkwardly, but couldn't help laughing again. She lowered her head, her shoulders trembling slightly as she laughed.

At this moment, the atmosphere between the two was more relaxed and harmonious than ever before.

As Li He watched her laugh so happily, the smile on his lips grew even wider.

Bo Wei laughed for a long time before slowly stopping, but the smile in her eyes never faded.

"Cough~~ Your dream is really amazing. If men could really give birth, that would be wonderful."

"We almost succeeded, but unfortunately, the dream ended."

Bo Wei suppressed a laugh, finding President Li's words rather endearing, and at that moment, she even felt that President Li was approachable.

"President Li, please step back a bit, be careful not to step on the glass shards." She said, preparing to continue picking up the glass shards.

Li He grabbed her wrist and moved it away, then quickly let go. "Don't touch these things. Call the cleaning staff to do a thorough cleaning. You can't clean it properly."

"Oh, okay, I'll contact him right away." She only felt that what President Li said was right, completely ignoring the delicate wrist that had been grabbed.

Bo Wei took all the tools she had brought in out, put them back, called the cleaning staff, and then went downstairs.

Xu Xiangying had been watching her go upstairs the whole time, and now that she saw her coming down, she kept staring at her.

"Is President Li not here? What was smashed?"

"Just one glass."

"It was terrifying. We were on tenterhooks all morning. Ugh, I wonder who was so clueless as to upset President Li."

Bo Wei: ...

She carefully recalled her experience upstairs and realized that Mr. Li didn't seem unhappy at all; in fact, he even smiled!

Did President Li go to Chengdu to study the art of face-changing?

Li He leaned back leisurely on the sofa, his eyes still gazing into the distance, his pleasure still lingering.

Very good. Apart from the slow progress, he was very satisfied with everything else.
