Chapter 48 Going to Work Together
It was a cloudy morning.
Bo Wei opened the door.
I thought I would run into Ji Mingxiu getting up to wash up as usual, but I found that he had already cleaned up and was sitting on the sofa.
Hearing the door open, he turned around with a gentle smile, "Good morning."
Bo Wei was taken aback, then smiled and said, "Good morning. Why are you all ready so early today?"
"I woke up early today, so I decided to go to work with you." He said, standing up. He was wearing a black polo shirt and brown trousers. He had a great physique and was handsome and capable.
"This outfit is very elegant. Is it also a uniform issued by the company?" His gaze fell on Bo Wei with deep appreciation, but there seemed to be a hint of sullenness deep in his eyes.
Bo Wei glanced down at herself.
Today I wore another beige suit, a V-neck, fitted waist, mid-sleeve top, and a fishtail skirt.
To complement this outfit, she also wore pearl earrings today, which added a touch of sophistication and elegance to her clean and high-class look.
She nodded. "Yes, it was also issued by the company."
She changed her shoes at the entrance. She didn't have many shoes, but fortunately, she had both dark and light colors.
She changed into a pair of beige high heels and went out the door to wait for him. "Last time when I went out to a meeting with President Li, I met two secretaries who were dressed quite elegantly. They kindly shared their clothing shops with me. President Li probably heard about it, and when he came back, he had someone take measurements for the entire office."
Ji Mingxiu lowered his head to change his shoes, and the sullenness in his eyes gradually dissipated as Bo Wei spoke.
He changed his shoes, grabbed his bag, came out and closed the door behind him, his voice gentle and smiling, "Did your CEO misunderstand that someone disliked your clothes and made him feel embarrassed?"
"Possibly."
"It's perfectly normal for the Li Group to pay attention to its image when it goes out, but are you referring to that outfit of yours, the white shirt and black skirt?"
"Hmm." Bo Wei smiled helplessly.
"Although that set is not as good as these two, I think it is perfectly fine for traveling and attending meetings. It's just that your CEO, Mr. Li, has misunderstood. Fortunately, the company is quite humane and did not ask you to purchase your own outfits."
"Yeah. I was thinking of buying a new outfit as soon as I got paid, but now I'm saving that expense."
"Don't be stingy, buy what you want. Aren't our combined salaries enough for you to buy two outfits?"
Bo Wei smiled without saying anything. She didn't want to talk about this topic anymore, fearing that he would be unhappy like last time if she talked too much.
Ji Mingxiu strode forward, pressed the elevator button, and stood beside her to wait.
There were many breakfast stalls outside the residential area. The two of them quickly ate breakfast and then headed towards the subway.
The Li Group is a complex of buildings, with the main building and several auxiliary buildings next to it.
The two worked in different buildings and parted ways at the group's plaza.
Ji Mingxiu glanced back, then looked away and continued walking.
Since Bo Wei started working, their relationship has become more like that of roommates, with very few opportunities to meet and talk.
This morning, in less than an hour, although it was far from enough to improve our relationship, we did have a lot more communication, which is good. We can take it slow.
In the not-too-crowded elevator, everyone's gaze, whether direct or concealed, was fixed on Bo Wei.
But one gaze in particular was exceptionally intense, causing Bo Wei to instinctively meet it.
She remembered that when she argued with Pan Yujia in the lobby, Pan Yujia was the only girl from the administration department who spoke up for her.
Bo Wei smiled and nodded at her.
The woman was taken aback, and when she saw the gratitude in Bo Wei's eyes, her face suddenly turned red.
After the announcement, she learned the truth and was furious! At the same time, she also felt a sense of guilt. So many people were watching the spectacle, but not a single person spoke up for her, and she herself had backed down out of fear.
This matter is chilling to think about. It reveals the coldness of human nature, the power of rumors, the butterfly effect, and what will be the final outcome for those who are slightly less lucky.
After Bo Wei nodded to her, she stood quietly, though her brows furrowed slightly from time to time, and she felt a slight, dull pain in her lower abdomen.
This familiar, sharp pain is a signal that her period has started today, and it also tells her that this time the situation is not good.
Her expression changed, and she subconsciously turned her head to check behind her. Because of the big movement, everyone looked at her curiously. She quickly stood up straight and leaned against the wall without moving.
Because she hadn't been to work for a long time, she didn't even think about putting sanitary napkins in her bag, nor did she have any spare painkillers.
Fortunately, there were sanitary napkins in the bathroom, which Wendi and her friends had left there. Since only a few girls used the bathroom, they could leave a pack there without anyone taking it, just in case.
She got off the elevator and walked quickly toward the restroom.
After checking, thankfully, her underwear wasn't soiled, so she quickly put on a nighttime sanitary napkin.
She secretly regretted that she had actually worn an all-white outfit today!
The abdominal pain wasn't obvious, but the feeling was impossible to ignore, and it made me feel restless and uneasy.
She touched her stomach; it felt cold, as if it could never be warmed up. She quickly poured herself a cup of hot water and drank it.
The group's premises are all office buildings. I searched using navigation, and the nearest pharmacy is about 700 or 800 meters away.
During rush hour, the elevators are always busy, and if she had to go back and forth, she would be late for work. So she ordered online to have a delivery person bring it to the building.
While she was there, she quickly went upstairs to clean the office.
Although the pain was not obvious, the feeling of irritability was getting stronger and stronger.
The delivery person called half an hour later, and she hurried downstairs to pick up the medicine.
I rushed back and quickly ate one.
"What's wrong? Why did you take medicine?" Wendy asked, noticing this.
Bo Wei showed her medicine box, "Menstrual cramps."
Is it serious?
“It depends on luck.” Bo Wei said helplessly and frustratedly, “Sometimes I almost faint from the pain, and sometimes I can bear the slight swelling and pain.”
"That's quite serious. You should see a doctor and get some treatment when you have time."
Bo Wei nodded listlessly.
Seeing Jiang Chengli go upstairs, she quickly went to deliver coffee.
Bo Wei walked into the office carrying a cup of coffee.
A white-clad figure entered Li He's field of vision, and he looked up and scrutinized her without any attempt to hide his gaze.
This glance caught Bo Wei off guard, causing her to pause slightly, but her thoughts were quickly drawn to her lower abdomen.
She gently placed the coffee beside him, nodded respectfully, and turned to leave.
Li He glanced at her back. He looked downcast and pale. What had happened?
After going downstairs, Bo Wei got busy. The project materials that President Li had given her last time should have been finished yesterday, but she was out all day yesterday, so she could only finish them today.
As the morning slowly passed, Bo Wei's breathing grew heavier and heavier, her brows remained furrowed, and the initial dull ache in her lower abdomen gradually turned into waves of cramping pain.
Gradually, he lost all interest in his work and even affected those around him.
