Chapter 1 First Encounter
The elevator doors opened.
Bo Wei came out with hurried steps, her high heels clicking rhythmically and impatiently on the clean, shiny floor.
His expression was somewhat irritable, with a hint of annoyance.
My heart was beating so fast I could hardly keep up; my cheeks were burning, and my ears were noticeably hot too.
It felt very unfamiliar, yet very intense.
This made her even more irritable and angry.
She brushed her hair aside with her slender hand to cover her ears.
Two women in suits and skirts, wearing name tags and holding documents, approached from opposite directions.
The conversation abruptly stopped, and the two of them stared at each other, their eyes locked in unison...
A slender woman walks gracefully towards you, tossing her hair aside and bowing her head slightly, effortlessly exuding charm that is natural and completely unpretentious.
As she brushed past me, the breeze she stirred carried her unique and captivating scent—a faint, feminine fragrance.
The elevator behind us seemed to be unattended, waiting quietly and orderly before slowly closing.
The two snapped out of their daze, ran a few steps quickly, their high heels clicking impatiently, and barely managed to block the elevator doors from closing with the documents.
The elevator doors slowly opened again, and the two stared in astonishment at what lay inside.
As Bo Wei turned the corner, she heard two panicked voices calling out to her from behind.
Good morning, Mr. Li.
Mr. Li?
Her heart was still pounding wildly.
She felt as if she were still in the elevator, and behind her, that gaze seemed to envelop her tightly, as if it wanted to peel her away.
What boss? He's clearly a well-dressed, refined scoundrel!
Frustrated, Bo Wei pushed everything to the back of her mind, gripped the bag strap tightly, and her heart began to race with tension.
Inside the elevator, the man watched the disappearing figure before gently turning his gaze away.
His gaze swept lightly over the two people at the door, and he nodded slightly. "Mm."
Standing up in a languid posture, his figure appears even taller and more slender, instantly exuding an aura of nobility and aloofness.
Even though there was only one person, the two of them felt as if President Li had filled the entire elevator, like a thousand troops rushing towards them. That sense of oppression filled their faces, making it difficult to even breathe.
The two people at the door took a step back in unison, and said nervously and awkwardly, "President Li, please go first. We can take another elevator."
The man nodded slightly, his face expressionless.
The elevator doors closed again.
The two patted their chests outside, took a deep breath and exhaled, and looked at each other.
"Why is President Li in this elevator?"
"I don't know."
"That scared me to death!"
Inside the elevator.
Li He stood with his hands in his pockets, his posture slightly languid, his eyelids lowered, his thoughts wandering.
Countless erotic and debauched images flashed before my eyes.
These images had appeared countless times in his mind and dreams.
These images were once blurry.
Since then, things have become much clearer, and the woman's features in the picture have gradually become clearer.
He started having frequent dreams from the beginning of puberty.
In his dream, he was passionately entwined with a woman who was all white and had a voluptuous figure. The intense pleasure stimulated every nerve in his body, and the feeling was still very strong every time he woke up.
He didn't believe it was a precognitive dream, because the scenes in the dream were too lewd, regardless of time or place, with different methods and techniques, making him feel excited and wildly thrilled.
If it's not a precognitive dream, then what is it?
Why has it been going on for so many years? Why did he smell a familiar, warm fragrance that he had only ever smelled in his dreams as soon as the woman appeared? And why did all the dreams he had ever had flash before his eyes like scenes from a movie, with faces he had never seen clearly in his dreams beginning to materialize?
So, what exactly happened?
The faint fragrance lingering in the elevator wafted into my nostrils, seeping into my lungs and lingering there, haunting my dreams.
"Pfft." What an absurd and bizarre world.
He suddenly smiled, and the entire quiet elevator space seemed to come alive.
A handsome face was reflected in the elevator mirror.
Her clean and neat hair was flipped back, revealing her upright silhouette.
His facial features are striking and well-defined, with dark, arched eyebrows, a high nose bridge, and rosy lips. His overall appearance is smooth yet strong, and his almond-shaped eyes exude an air of natural nobility.
An expensive suit worn meticulously exudes a sense of luxury.
He straightened up, stepped out of the elevator, his languid demeanor vanished, leaving only an innate composure and wisdom.
The three-story building features a central atrium with an open-plan office area for the general manager.
When Dou Ning, the receptionist, saw President Li walk out of the elevator and not take it upstairs as usual, she wasn't particularly surprised.
Mr. Li's private elevator can go directly to the two floors above, while the other elevators only go to this floor, but they were temporarily under maintenance this morning.
"Good morning, Mr. Li." She greeted him respectfully.
Li He didn't look to the side, nodded slightly, and strode away.
...
In the General Manager's Office, Jiang Chengli picked up last week's work report and this week's work and schedule and went upstairs to the General Manager's Office.
"Clang, clang, clang."
"Enter."
Jiang Chengli pushed open the door and entered.
A figure stood by the window, tall and handsome, looking down upon the world like a king.
He came in and placed the documents he was holding on President Li's desk.
He walked up behind President Li, took the suit jacket he was taking off, and casually hung it on the black hanger next to him.
"Bring me the list of people recruited today," Li He casually ordered, unbuttoning his cufflinks.
Jiang Chengli: "I've already brought them; they're on the table. We've gone through four rounds of interviews, and today is the final one. Only two people meet your requirements. Do you need to interview them in person? They're all here."
Li He strode to the desk, sat down, picked up a stack of documents, and flipped through them. "No need."
The slender fingers quickly stopped on a resume.
Bo Wei.
25 years old.
Graduated from the Department of Management at the University of Washington.
In the 2-inch photo against a blue background, the woman has long, thick, dark hair without bangs. Her facial features are in very pleasing proportions, and her fair face looks very small.
With thick eyebrows and large eyes, she possesses a pure and refined beauty, clear eyes, and an elegant and tranquil demeanor.
What's the deal with these two people?
As if asking casually, Jiang Chengli said, "Both of them have flaws. The one you have is quite capable but lacks experience, and he has an excellent appearance; you can tell from his speech that he's an honest and reliable person. The other one is a man, experienced and capable, but..."
Li He raised his eyes, his gaze deep and emotionless. "What is it that you find difficult to say?"
Jiang Chengli said with a headache, "I think he should get his body odor treated first. I didn't notice it the last few times, but I happened to run into him in the elevator this morning."
I guess it wasn't cleaned properly today; I didn't smell it the previous times when I was close by.
Li He frowned, and after a moment spoke, "Did you spray the wrong perfume?"
Jiang Chengli: "...It shouldn't be."
He was biased towards that man. Although the female secretary was more attentive, it was more convenient for President Li to use a male assistant when he was on business trips. "If you think neither of them is suitable, then we can hire someone else."
Li He placed the documents in his hand on the table and pushed them forward.
"No need, she's fine. She has a good appearance."
Jiang Chengli: ...
Should we add a face reading expert to the recruitment team?
Li He leaned back in his chair, looking dashing and casual, and casually unbuttoned two buttons on his shirt.
Her neck was fair, and her Adam's apple was sexy.
Jiang Chengli couldn't help but glance at it a couple more times.
Li He lightly lifted his eyelids and glanced at him.
Jiang Chengli quickly looked away.
He was secretly annoyed. He used to only know how to look at women in a vulgar way, so why did he feel the same way about President Li?
A knock on the door. "Mr. Li, coffee."
"Enter."
Dou Ning brought over the coffee, carefully placed it down, and took two steps back before asking, "Mr. Li, is there anything else you need to prepare?"
Li He stared at the coffee cup, raised his hand, and ran his fingertips along the handle of the coffee cup, grinding it.
Just as Dou Ning thought everything was alright and was about to leave, she heard President Li say meaningfully, "Pear."
Dou Ning was unsure and asked cautiously, "Pear? You mean fruit?"
"Um."
She glanced at Assistant Jiang, but Jiang Chengli remained expressionless and unresponsive.
He nodded immediately, "Okay, I'll arrange it right away."
Before I could even turn around, I heard President Li give a meaningful order: "I want the kind that's snow-white, very sweet, and juicy."
She paused for a moment, then turned around and nodded quickly, "Okay."
As soon as Dou Ning left, Jiang Chengli said, "I'll go and arrange the recruitment. President Li, the meeting is at 10:30."
Li He nodded.
