Chapter 5: Patiently Observing the Prey
Bo Wei looked up and saw that there was no one at the railing.
But her heart was pounding faster and faster. How could this be?
That refined scoundrel!
Mr. Li?
Bo Wei recalled the two people behind her yesterday calling him "President Li," realizing that he was actually Li from the Li Group.
A corporation may have countless presidents, but she never expected this...
I remember the intrusive look in my eyes in the elevator.
Through the mirror on the elevator wall, she could see his gaze lingering dangerously over her body; that one look felt like a direct hit to the head.
Nowadays, every secretary in the office is a beautiful woman, exuding allure and charm.
This made Bo Wei wonder what kind of person this President Li really was.
From her adolescence until now, she has seen too many malicious glances at her and has seen too many unfortunate stories about women online.
We must always be more aware of self-protection.
Regret and anger gradually welled up in my heart. I originally thought I had gotten a dream job, and I was even heartbroken over it, hoping for a miracle.
In retrospect, her self-assessment was absolutely correct!
Miracles are something that can never happen to you. Even if they do, beneath the surface lies a sweet trap!
He said to go up, but didn't ask anyone else to go up, so Jiang Chengli took her along with him.
Lost in her own troubled thoughts, Bo Wei followed him upstairs with conflicted and hesitant feelings.
Having already completed the onboarding process, I can only take it one step at a time and be more aware of self-protection.
Then I couldn't help but comfort myself, thinking that maybe I was just being overly sensitive.
His icy gaze just now made her wonder if she had been paranoid and had been too arrogant.
The heavy, luxurious double doors were open, and Jiang Chengli stepped forward and gently knocked on them.
"Come in."
Jiang Chengli turned to her and instructed, "Follow me."
"good."
The office space design is highly purposeful, with a layout that emphasizes visual appeal and comfort, yet exudes understated luxury, reflecting the extraordinary taste of the office owner.
Bo Wei glanced around briefly before looking away, focusing all her attention on the man behind the desk.
"President Li, this is Bo Wei. She just started working here. I'm showing her around to meet her colleagues and also letting her see your office and explain her job duties."
Jiang Chengli stepped aside, and Bo Wei stood in front of Li He without any cover, feeling somewhat at a loss.
"Hello, Mr. Li." She lowered her eyes, not daring to look at him, and greeted him softly.
Li He leaned back in his black chair, his posture unruly, his eyes deep and sharp like a wolf's, as cold as a star shining in the night.
It seems to be patiently observing its prey, waiting for the right moment, when its lithe figure will pierce the night sky and swiftly and accurately bite the prey's throat.
The hunter's posture is innate, requiring no deliberate disguise; a sense of oppression arises naturally.
There was a moment of silence, and Bo Wei's throat tightened.
Finally, he slowly spoke, "Since you've brought her along, let's make arrangements for her first."
After speaking, he began to flip through the documents, as if he had nothing but work on his mind and no regard for the two people.
Jiang Chengli felt somewhat annoyed after hearing what President Li said. He had been by President Li's side for so long, yet he still couldn't guess what President Li was thinking.
President Li simply asked him to come up, but he took it upon himself to bring Bo Wei up as well.
Instead of getting a proper look, Bo Wei felt relieved.
"Phew~"
The very soft sound made Li He pause slightly as he flipped through the documents, his eyes subtly changing color, like a wolf spotting its prey.
"Come here, I'll quickly explain your main responsibilities to you now," Jiang Chengli said softly.
Bo Wei followed him to the side, took out a small notebook she had prepared in advance from her bag, and opened it to take notes.
Jiang Chengli glanced at it and said, "From now on, you will mainly be responsible for President Li's daily affairs, meetings, business trips and business travel. Although it may not seem like much, there is quite a lot to do."
This was to delegate some of his work. He's getting busier and busier, and he can't manage on his own, so President Li asked him to hire another secretary.
"President Li's office has a thorough cleaning once a month by a dedicated cleaner, and a minor cleaning once a week by a dedicated person. You just need to be there to supervise and prevent anyone from touching anything in the office. However, you will need to perform simple cleaning tasks every day, including wiping, tidying, and taking out the trash daily."
"Also, prepare a cup of coffee for President Li every morning, or fulfill any other needs he may have. This was originally Dou Ning's job at the front desk, but it's now being transferred to you. President Li's office is an important place, and unauthorized personnel are not allowed in. The fewer people who come in, the better."
Bo Wei nodded and continued listening to his explanation, taking very careful notes with neat and beautiful handwriting.
The two walked to the lounge area with their backs to Li He, and Jiang Chengli explained to her the precautions for cleaning the office.
All important documents and official seals in the office are stored in a safe with a combination lock; no wonder they dared to assign a newly hired employee to clean the office.
Bo Wei felt she was overthinking things; other people's arrangements were always reasonable, and no one here was dumber than her.
The two spoke in hushed tones, and the movement of their high heels revealed that the owners were deliberately making their movements light.
Li He lazily lifted his eyes, his gaze landing precisely on the woman's feet.
His gaze clung to her skin like a snail, slowly climbing upwards inch by inch.
The feminine black stilettos accentuate the sexy curve of the instep, showcasing fair and jade-like skin, gracefully elongated ankles, and long, well-proportioned calves.
Up, there's a small black mole behind her left knee, a tiny black dot against her snow-white skin, but it's not enough to detract from the beauty of her legs.
Above the knees, the black dress tightly hugged her legs and hips, her legs straight and graceful, her hips round and her waist slender, like a ripe, plump peach lying upside down.
Her long, smooth, black hair cascaded down her back, her white shirt was tucked into her skirt, and her waist was so tight it could be encircled by one hand.
Li He's mouth was parched, his Adam's apple bobbed slightly, his gaze became anxious, and his large, well-defined hands clenched gently, as if he were gripping something tightly.
The two talked as they walked out, and Jiang Chengli closed the door behind them.
Li He haphazardly pushed the documents in front of him aside, leaned back in his chair, and the veins on his long neck bulged, exuding a wild yet sexy aura.
With his eyes lightly closed, the woman's voluptuous figure swayed gently in his mind. He reached out and tugged at his tie, trying to release the restlessness in his chest, but it was no use.
His Adam's apple bobbed as he took a deep breath, his pectoral muscles bulging beneath his shirt, his red lips parting slightly as he exhaled slowly.
Great, I've found myself a walking aphrodisiac.
Bo Wei.
He slowly opened his eyes, his gaze firm and resolute.
