Chapter 3 Don't put your hands in your pockets when walking
Jian Ruochen was about to join the police force before he traveled through time and that was when he wanted to be a police officer the most.
Unexpectedly, someone so foolish yet so wise could actually point out his wish.
"Heh." Jian Ruochen stared at Chai Jinwu and chuckled, "You're quite interesting."
Chai Jinwu felt uncomfortable being stared at. His whole body felt numb and his legs began to shake uncontrollably.
It's so strange, why can Jian Ruochen be so calm?
He was suspected of being a murderer, questioned and searched by the police, and provoked for no reason.
Why is it still so calm?
Chai Jinwu's heels tapped on the floor of the interrogation room.
His legs were shaking, and after a while, his hands began to shake uncontrollably, causing the table to tremble along with them.
Officer Zhong couldn't hold back his excitement and asked with a frown, "Why are you shaking?"
The tapping sound of heels hitting the floor stopped.
Chai Jinwu suddenly realized.
Jian Ruochen said: "He was shaking, of course, because he was embarrassed and nervous. Medically speaking, when people are nervous, adrenaline will surge rapidly. In order to relieve tension, the human body will have some subconscious reactions, such as shaking legs."
Chai Jinwu's Adam's apple rolled up and down, and he pulled his legs back uncomfortably, trying to hide under the chair.
Jian Ruochen pretended not to notice. "Shaking his legs can distract some of his attention and reduce the discomfort caused by being noticed. If it doesn't work... it means he is too nervous and has too much adrenaline secreted, which leads to what he is like now."
He raised his chin and motioned the two officers to look at Chai Jinwu's hands. "Your hands are shaking."
Chai Jinwu clasped his hands together, trying to make himself say something different from Jian Ruochen, but it was useless.
He was still shaking.
Jian Ruochen put four fingers together and touched the two photos placed on the table. With a light flick of his thumb, the photos were held in his palm.
"Don't be nervous. In fact, whether this case can be solved depends on you."
Chai Jinwu hesitated, "What? Why?"
Jian Ruochen said that it was because I had "lost my memory" and didn't know any clues.
He didn't answer, but raised his hand and shook the photo to draw Chai Jinwu's attention back. "Think about it carefully, is there anyone who hates you, dislikes me, and hates Feng Jiaming?"
"Neither you nor I live on campus, so we usually only run into each other in medical school courses. If you don't usually say bad things about people behind their backs, then it's likely that you were bullying me in person and someone saw you. There aren't many people who meet these four conditions at the same time."
A string of words was spoken, and you could hear a pin drop in the interrogation room.
Officer Zhong and Chen Yunchuan looked at each other and saw the same shock in each other's eyes.
They asked Chai Jinwu and Jian Ruochen to be questioned at the same time in order to obtain more information while the two were arguing and communicating.
But Jian Ruochen is really too professional.
His logic was sound, his moves were cautious, and he didn't say a word of nonsense from the moment he entered the room.
Chen Yunchuan suppressed his shock and said to Chai Jinwu, "Think about it carefully and start by looking for someone who doesn't like you."
She handed Chai Jinwu a piece of paper and a pen, "You can write as you think, write slowly."
Chai Jinwu lowered his head, grabbed a pen and wrote a few names on a piece of white paper, then hesitated and crossed out a few.
Jian Ruochen watched for a while and his stomach started to sing the empty city plan.
I'm so hungry. I don’t know how Luo Binwen is doing outside.
Anyway, the leather seats in the Porsche are definitely more comfortable than the backless wooden benches in the interrogation room.
It would be great if I had a cell phone. With that I could contact Luo Binwen to buy some midnight snacks, and this would be a good opportunity to build good relationships with the police officers.
Jian Ruochen was stunned for a while, and when he came back to his senses, he heard two knocks on the door of the interrogation room.
Chen Yunchuan stood up and opened the door. He saw Luo Binwen standing outside politely, showing the paper bag in his hand. "This is the midnight snack my young master prepared for several police officers. It's getting late. My young master hasn't had dinner yet and he has a fever. Can you let him rest for a while?"
Jian Ruochen: ...
Luo Binwen is worthy of being the gold medal butler in the book. He is very good at guessing his superiors' intentions and is a good person.
I'm so in tune with him!
"Isn't this Huangji?" Chen Yunchuan stared at the gold-plated crown on the paper bag in amazement. "I heard that the cheapest porridge in this store costs 2,000 yuan a bowl."
Jian Ruochen: Poof!
What?
2000 a bowl?
What outrageous prices.
Luo Binwen smiled and said, "The young master specifically asked me to buy it. You all have worked hard. Here are five bowls of shark fin porridge and some side dishes."
He reminded Jian Ruochen: "There is a box of antipyretic medicine next to you, remember to take it after dinner."
Jian Ruochen stood up in a trance and took the paper bag. Before it is opened, a salty and fresh aroma lingers on the nose, making one's appetite surge.
He looked at Chen Yunchuan.
Chen Yunchuan waved his hand, "It's too expensive."
She never imagined that one day she would use the word "precious" to describe a bowl of porridge!
"Eat it yourself."
Jian Ruochen opened the paper bag and saw five small ceramic insulation bowls with plastic lids neatly stacked up, each one was only as big as an adult man's fist.
He closed it, feeling uneasy.
2,000 yuan for a bowl of porridge as big as a sandbag.
But with 10 billion in deposits, the daily interest alone is nearly 100,000.
Next, these profits will continue to grow like a snowball.
Oh, that's alright...
Jian Ruochen was very cheerful, "It's okay, I can't finish it all by myself, and it won't taste good if it gets cold, let's eat it together."
He turned to look at Luo Binwen: "What about you? Have you eaten?"
Luo Binwen was stunned. He didn't expect Jian Ruochen to care about him. "I have used it. Don't worry."
He took a few steps back, then leaned forward and carefully closed the door.
Elegant, so elegant.
Jian Ruochen divided the porridge among Chen Yunchuan and Sir Zhong, and took another bowl and placed it next to Chai Jinwu.
Chai Jinwu had already filled half of a piece of paper, which was filled with the names of people who had been screened out.
He was in a daze. "Huangji's shark fin porridge? It's so expensive... why did you give it to me?"
He just appeared to be so fierce but was actually weak and spoke without thinking.
Doesn't Jian Ruochen bear any grudges at all?
Jian Ruochen said: "It's okay, drink it."
Five bowls are only one-fiftieth of the interest, and he seems to have received some dividends.
You can never spend it all.
He scooped up a mouthful with a small spoon and put it into his mouth. The rich taste and aroma rushed straight from his taste buds to his nasal cavity.
Upper class, too upper class.
Jian Ruo swallowed the first bite and said teasingly: "If you really make a mistake, the law will punish you, and this may be your last good meal."
Last meal before execution.
Chai Jinwu: ...
He clenched the exquisitely crafted small porcelain spoon and realized that this man really didn't take people he disliked seriously.
To Jian Ruochen, these people were not even as important as the porridge in front of him.
Like a stone on the roadside, you just kick it away.
Jian Ruochen was very different from what was rumored. At least he was not timid or unsociable at all.
After the four of them finished their midnight snack, Officer Zhong stood up and cleaned the table, threw away the garbage, and came back with two cups of hot water.
He smacked the taste of shark fin in his mouth and looked at Jian Ruochen, "I didn't expect to benefit from being a witness today. We can't usually eat this. Drink some hot water and take the medicine."
"Thanks."
Jian Ruochen took the water, took the medicine, and felt warm all over.
He held the remaining water and looked at Chai Jinwu, "How is it? Do you remember it?"
Chai Jinwu: "I haven't..."
His voice choked and he suddenly shuddered. He looked at the paper full of words in his hand with a horrified expression, staring at a name.
Jian Ruochen looked at his expression.
Breathing is rapid, pupils are constricted, orbicularis oculi muscles are tense, and eyebrows are slightly raised.
Surprise and fear.
"Looks like you remembered."
"How do you know?" Chai Jinwu asked subconsciously.
He didn't have time to delve into it, and quickly said, "Yes, I remember now. The person who meets all four conditions is Huo Jinze!"
Chai Jinwu's hands holding the paper began to tremble again.
He looked at Jian Ruochen, "Many people in school dislike you and are jealous of you. But you never cause trouble. There is only one person who might really hate you, and that is Huo Jinze! Huo Jinze's GPA is not as high as yours, ranking second, and he failed to apply for the special scholarship."
Chai Jinwu took a breath, "Huo Jin resented me because I guessed he stole things from the restaurant, which caused him to lose his part-time job. He couldn't find a new job for a long time afterwards, and his life was very difficult."
"A week after he lost his part-time job, Feng Jiaming called him to the rooftop. Feng Jiaming has always been indifferent to men and women. I heard that Huo Jinze devoted himself to playing with Feng Jiaming for a while, so his financial situation was actually pretty good during this period."
Chai Jinwu's face turned pale. "I once teased you in anatomy class, saying that you were too good-looking and didn't look like a boy. Huo Jinze is also a student in our department. He was in that class too, so he should have heard it."
Jian Ruochen sighed.
From this point of view, Huo Jinze's criminal motive is basically established.
Now, all that’s missing is evidence.
"Dong Dong"
There was a knock on the door of the interrogation room, and an intern in a white coat holding a dozen A4 papers probed, "Madam, we found some skin tissue between Feng Jiaming's fingernails, which should be left when he fought with the murderer. The person was not found in the database. Have you found a suspect who can be compared with DNA?"
Jian Ruochen recognized this young man who liked to chatter during the investigation. Although this guy was a little bit of a loner, he had a good heart and was someone worth making friends with.
He replied, "Madam has found it and is about to catch it."
Chen Yunchuan put on his coat and walked out. "If it weren't for you, this person probably wouldn't have surfaced so quickly."
Sir Zhong also praised: "Jian Ruochen, you are not here to cooperate with the investigation, you are here to participate in the investigation."
Jian Ruochen laughed, "What a coincidence, what a coincidence."
Chen Yunchuan: "Your suspicion has been completely cleared. Do you want to go home first? If there is any further investigation, I will call you again."
Jian Ruo pondered for a moment and said, "No, I want to meet Huo Jinze as soon as possible."
In Chai Jinwu's confession, there are actually some loopholes in the part concerning Huo Jinze and him.
This loophole even caused Chai Jinwu's entire mind to feel a subtle sense of disharmony.
He had to confirm it himself to feel at ease.
Huo Jinze has a deep hatred with Chai Jinwu and Feng Jiaming that is related to personal dignity.
Chai Jinwu slandered him for stealing.
Feng Jiaming treated him as a plaything.
But Jian Ruochen got the "scholarship" based on his own ability, and Huo Jin shouldn't hate someone for this reason.
This is a bit far-fetched.
If Huo Jinzhe's reason for involving "Jian Ruochen" in the case is invalid.
So what was the real reason why Jian Ruochen was framed?
Jian Ruochen thought as he walked out leisurely with his hands in his pockets.
He walked absentmindedly with his head down, counting the bricks on the ground, and was about to reach the corner.
Suddenly, a tall figure came out from the tea room not far away.
Jian Ruochen caught a glimpse of a man who seemed to be over 1.9 meters tall, wearing a long windbreaker and reading a document.
He quickly moved to the left, trying to avoid it.
But both of them were walking close to the wall, one was absent-minded and the other was reading documents.
The man reacted quickly. When Jian Ruochen dodged to the left, he subconsciously took a step with his long legs and actually dodged in the direction where Jian Ruochen was dodging.
Both of them were very confident in dodging, and neither of them slowed down, and they crashed into each other.
Jian Ruochen tripped over the other person's leg that suddenly stretched out, with his hands stuffed in his sleeves, and he couldn't even take them out to keep his balance.
It's over.
This body has never been trained and its agility is very poor.
Jian Ruochen held his breath and closed his eyes involuntarily, preparing to hit his head on the floor, but someone suddenly grabbed his waist and abdomen, and he fell sideways, suddenly falling into a chest that smelled of black tea.
His forehead didn't hit the floor tiles, but he hit someone's arms hard.
