Chapter 7
Li Yang drove to the school bus parking lot, turned off the engine, and the red clock on the electronic screen went out at "7:53".
The school bus full of children was like a mobile buffet outside, attracting monsters all the way. But this morning, because Li Yang was sleep deprived, the ferocity he exuded was even stronger than the bad guys coveting the cubs on the bus, and none of them could get close to the window. They were driven away a few meters away, not to mention attacking him or implanting any auditory or visual hallucinations.
Back in the dormitory, Fatty Liang, wearing a cap and mask and dressed as a chef, was packing lunch boxes. He looked up at the black-haired young man and said, "Breakfast for faculty and staff is on the table."
Li Yang squinted his eyes and finished eating in no time.
Fatty Liang was amused: "Not really, right? Driving a school bus is hard because it's hard to get up early, but can it be harder than driving the night bus? The purest job in our school is the driver, who only needs to drive. Others are doing several jobs for one salary. Look at me, the chef, responsible for three meals a day."
It was difficult for Li Yang to explain why he didn't sleep well.
The music on the radio outside suddenly changed, announcing the 8 o'clock morning exercise activities.
"I'm not going to chat with you anymore. I'm going to deliver the food." Fatty Liang picked up the basket full of cartoon lunch boxes with both hands and left.
Li Yang sat for a while and finished his bottle of oat milk before going upstairs and falling asleep in bed.
He slept in a daze, and his sleep quality was not much better than last night. He could vaguely hear the sound of wooden fish and Buddhist chants outside, as well as laughter and scolding.
——In two opposing classrooms, morning classes were taking place. The children in the Lotus class were concentrating on reciting the sutras, and even the youngest freshmen were sitting still. In the Tai Chi class, a group of young Taoists were running around waving peach wood swords and having fun, and the four teachers were disciplining them angrily.
Li Yang slept until about twelve o'clock in the afternoon, which was the children's lunch break time.
Heart-wrenching howlings of ghosts and wolves were heard from the nap room.
Children are fickle.
The little Taoist who was in high spirits in the morning suddenly became homesick and started crying loudly, wanting to go back to the Taoist temple.
One person's crying spreads throughout the nest.
The three new students had not yet adapted to the new environment and now they could no longer hold back and started crying loudly.
The Lotus Class also wiped away tears and sobbed quietly: "I miss my master."
Lu Xiaoguo was telling bedtime stories, and the other teachers were responsible for comforting the children one by one.
It was almost one o'clock when the noise died down. Many of the cubs were tired from crying or fell asleep peacefully, but there were still some who were in strong emotions. They still stared at Teacher Guoguo with tears in their eyes and listened to stories.
At half past one, the last kid finally closed his eyes. Lu Xiaoguo breathed a sigh of relief and closed the storybook.
The first day of school is so hard!
The kindergarten was quiet, but Li Yang was no longer sleepy.
He stood up and wanted to go downstairs to eat. The moment he opened the door, the door opposite was also opened.
He was stunned.
Zhou Du saw that his eyes were red from obvious lack of sleep, paused, glanced into the bedroom behind him, turned back to his room, and when he came out he took a talisman paper drawn with cinnabar, went into his room and pasted it on the window in front of the balcony.
No glue is used, the talisman paper automatically absorbs and sticks firmly.
The chirping of cicadas in the trees outside suddenly died down.
What a good soundproofing spell.
Li Yang asked in a strange and subtle way: "Is there a talisman that can stop people from dreaming?"
"Yes, you can ask Liang Tang for it. He is the Taoist master of the Fulu Sect." Zhou Du glanced at him and asked, "Is your sleep trouble caused by dreaming?"
I guess so. In his dream last night, he was also wearing ancient dynasty armor, and the man in jade robe taught him fighting skills.
At first he obediently learned each move one by one, but when it came to the sparring session, every move he attacked was easily resolved by the man, and suddenly he was overwhelmed by the desire to win. After fighting for a whole night, the man chuckled, came behind him, held his wrist and gave him some instructions. He woke up very tired and angry.
"No." The black-haired young man looked inexplicably cold and went downstairs.
In the restaurant on the first floor, four dishes and one soup were being kept warm. Li Yang brought them to the table and Zhou Du served the soup.
We sat face to face, and during the meal, the only sound we could hear was the clinking of soup bowls.
Li Yang cleared the dishes and went out to water the winter melon.
After being watered and moisturized some time ago, the wrinkles on the winter melon's skin have been smoothed out, and it has become smooth again. Even the roots have become stronger, and it shines confidently among the other melons.
I also watered the other vegetables in the garden and the flowers on both sides, then turned off the water valve, put away the water pipe, and went back to take another nap.
The kids in kindergarten woke up at 2:15 in the afternoon after a good sleep. They were in a much better mood, as if the big breakdown before the nap had never happened.
The little girls in the Tai Chi class, with their messy hair from sleeping, lined up to have their hair re-tied by teacher Wu Qian. Wu Qian did not tie their hair in the simple bun they wore when they first came to the kindergarten, but instead braided their hair and added pretty little hairpins in the shapes of stars and flowers.
The small male crown is much rougher. Some of them can do it themselves after training by masters and senior brothers, while the other part is that the hair is held in the hands of male teachers, and they turn it a few times by themselves, and then put it with a wooden hairpin, and it is done in less than two or three steps.
The efficiency was so high that the young monks, who didn't need efficiency, applauded in praise.
After an afternoon snack and two small classes, we played while waiting for the school to end. Even the reserved and steady Lotus class became visibly lively.
The teachers of the two classes couldn't help but sigh: "It's always before school is over that we suddenly adapt to school life."
At 4:05 p.m., the school bus drove over. The children, divided into two lines, jumped on the bus in a good mood, and said in a crisp and sweet voice: "Good afternoon, driver brother!"
Thanks to the soundproofing, Li Yang, who had had enough sleep, was in a good mood when he started working. He curled his lips and said, "Good afternoon."
Lu Xiaoguo was still counting the number of people outside. Zhixuan from the Tai Chi class got on the bus, but instead of looking for a seat, he came to Li Yang and stared at him motionlessly through the guardrail of the driving area.
The little girl's round eyes are naturally pure and bright, and her round and smooth face is so charming that most adults can hardly resist.
Li Yang narrowed his eyes slightly: "What are you looking at?"
Zhixuan grinned, revealing a few small pearly teeth. His cheeks became even rounder. He reached into his school bag and rummaged around, then took out a White Rabbit candy and handed it to him.
Li Yang didn't move.
Zhixuan stretched his little hand forward again.
Peng Nannan, who was sitting in the first row, saw this and stood up and walked over curiously, "What are you doing?... You actually hid the candy secretly!"
Worried about affecting children's regular meals, kindergartens do not allow snacks and drinks to be brought in. All food and drinks must be prepared by the kindergarten. During the morning checkup, teachers will check pockets and school bags for dangerous items or these foods, but there are always a few that slip through the net.
If the teacher finds out that I am eating secretly, I will be deducted from my red flower. But if other students find out, as long as they are willing to share, they will not tell on me.
Peng Nannan swallowed and said, "Zhixuan, I want to eat too."
Zhixuan tilted his head, and the small braid with a small flower hairpin swayed, "There is only one, for the driver brother."
"He doesn't want it, so just give it to me! Otherwise I'll tell the teacher!" As he said that, he started to snatch it.
Zhixuan's palm was scratched and the candy was gone.
Peng Nannan anxiously opened the candy wrapper and was about to put it into his mouth, but suddenly he looked closely, screamed and threw it away.
The candy wrapper and a big stink bug fell to the ground. The stink bug crawled on its legs, then spread its wings and flapped into flight.
“Wow wow wow wow!!”
Peng Nannan screamed at the top of her lungs, and the insects were startled and irritated, flying around and emitting a foul smell.
The whole school bus was in trouble, and the kids held their noses and screamed for help! The teacher stinks!
Lu Xiaoguo came up quickly and told them to stay in their seats and not to run around, to avoid any pushing or trampling accidents, and at the same time removed all the windows.
After hitting several pieces of glass in succession, the bedbug finally found an empty window and flew out.
But the heady smell in the school bus could not be dispelled for a while, so the children had to be arranged to get off the bus one by one and return to their class teachers.
Lu Xiaoguo grabbed Peng Nannan and asked, "What's going on?"
Peng Nannan was most afraid of insects, and she angrily accused Zhixuan with tears and snot.
After listening to this, Lu Xiaoguo felt tired: "You already touched the candy, but you didn't notice anything wrong?"
"I was too anxious to eat!" Nan Nan felt so aggrieved that she blew a snot bubble.
Lu Xiaoguo comforted him, and Teacher Wu Qian took him to wash his hands and face.
Zhixuan walked over, still with an innocent look on his face, without any guilt at all as the instigator.
Lu Xiaoguo sighed.
The most troublesome person in the kindergarten is not the apparently naughty Peng Nannan, but the well-behaved little Zhixuan.
When he first entered the kindergarten, he bewitched all the teachers and students with his cute looks and innocent watery eyes. However, after getting to know him for a long time, people found that he was just like a sesame-filled dumpling, the kind that could do big things without making a sound.
This kid can cause trouble, but he doesn't do it for bad reasons, and the frequency is not high. It's just because he is too curious. This is a necessary stage in the growth process of every young child, similar to the idea of taking apart the TV at home to see if there is anyone inside when they were young in the 1980s and 1990s, and there are always a few who dare to do it.
"Xiao Zhixuan, are you researching some magic again?" Lu Xiaoguo asked depressedly.
Zhixuan nodded, "I'm learning the art of making food." It's a spell to turn something into food, "but I failed."
She explained calmly, didn't sound discouraged at all, and had the spirit to keep trying despite difficulties.
"This hasn't been taught in kindergarten, and you've learned advanced knowledge on your own." Lu Xiaoguo sighed again.
Zhixuan prefers self-study rather than the step-by-step kindergarten curriculum.
Last semester, I taught myself how to use sleight of hand. During an extracurricular activity, I turned a centipede in the grass into a rabbit in the eyes of other children. Peng Nannan was the first to touch it and got stung. His hand was so swollen that he had to wrap it up like a pig's trotter with gauze for a whole week...
So when will this kid Peng Nannan learn his lesson?
"Why did Zhixuan want to give the bug to Master Xiaoli? Can you tell me, teacher?"
Zhixuan frowned slightly, "It's not a bug. Some of them turned into candy. It turned back into a bug when it was in Peng Nannan's hands." She looked at her hands thoughtfully, "My magic power is still not stable enough."
"..." Lu Xiaoguo looked at this silly and sweet Bai Qiehei who made people angry and lovable, and tried to guide him correctly: "Okay, okay, don't use spells randomly next time, just practice what you learned in kindergarten. Even if you learn the art of making food in the future, you can't cast spells on insects. This is not good, understand?"
Zhixuan nodded and ran to swing on the swing with his short legs.
Li Yang switched the air conditioning mode of the school bus to strong ventilation and waited on the side. The kids playing on the amusement facilities on the other side of the playground suddenly became restless.
Zhou Du finally showed his face in front of the children. A group of cubs who couldn't reach his thighs surrounded him and shouted enthusiastically: "Headmaster!"
Zhou Du rubbed a few little heads and pinched a few round cheeks, "Why haven't you finished school yet?"
The child loudly reported the situation: "The school bus is full of bug farts! It stinks!"
"It was obviously Peng Nannan who put it there!"
"Why did I hear that it was Zhixuan who put it there?"
"Ah? Wasn't it the driver who put it there?!"
Li Yang: ?????
