Chapter 12 Suffering a loss is a blessing
"Your mother-in-law agreed to let you go with her to the army? That's wonderful news!"
Su Jin told Wang Hongying the news as soon as she got to work in the morning.
Wang Hongying was genuinely happy for her.
Su Jin nodded. "My mom agreed, but whether we can go or not depends on whether the higher-ups approve the application."
As a former educated youth sent to the countryside, she did not receive a quota to return to the city, so leaving Daliushu Village was not an easy task.
Not only do we need a letter of introduction from the village, but we also need a special approval from the county.
However, Liu Guizhi was even more anxious than her. When she left, Liu Guizhi had already gone to find the village chief.
“Of course you can! You’re going to see your man, that’s a perfectly valid reason!” Wang Hongying said matter-of-factly.
Su Jin knew, of course, that everything was fine now.
As the two were talking, Li Xinyue walked over from the side with a sullen face. After exchanging a glance with Su Jin for a second, she quickened her pace guiltily.
Su Jin asked, "What's wrong with her?"
Wang Hongying followed her gaze and glanced at Li Xinyue.
"Liu Xiuxiu and Zhou Gang are also returning to the city today, and she feels really down."
As the educated youth left in waves, their numbers dwindled, leaving behind only those who were anxious and restless, hardly showing any pleasant expressions.
Su Jin casually said, "She was quite happy to tell me a couple of days ago that she was going back to the city too."
“Her?” Wang Hongying’s face was full of sarcasm as she lowered her voice slightly. “I’ve already seen the list that was sent down from above, and her name isn’t on it at all.”
Su Jin's eyes were full of surprise. "But she really told me that. Maybe she found some connections."
Wang Hongying curled her lip in disdain, "What connections could she possibly have? Even if she did, they would only be crooked and shady methods."
After several years of getting to know each other, who wouldn't understand each other?
"If she can't go back, she'll be quite pitiful," Su Jin murmured.
Wang Hongying couldn't help but sigh and also reminded her, "You're just too kind-hearted, thinking everyone is a good person. You'll suffer for it in the future."
Su Jin smiled and said, "Suffering a loss is a blessing."
Three days later.
County hospital.
Zhao Zhihu lay on the hospital bed, utterly despondent, like a corpse.
He fell into a coma on the way to the hospital, and when he woke up again, he had become a eunuch.
Even though three days have passed, I still can't accept this huge blow.
The mere thought that he was no longer a man made me want to die immediately!
Footsteps approached from the doorway, but he didn't even want to lift his eyelids.
The person who arrived quickly stood in front of the hospital bed.
"Zhao Zhihu, I've come to see you."
The gentle female voice made him shudder, and all the blood in his body rushed to his head.
"You bitch, how dare you come here!"
The moment he saw Su Jin, his face contorted in extreme pain. He jumped up from the bed, but the movement aggravated his wound, forcing him to sit back down.
Su Jin watched him expressionlessly as his veins bulged in pain.
"Hiss! Su Jin! You bitch!!"
Zhao Zhihu cursed viciously, large beads of sweat dripping down his face.
He hadn't even gone to settle accounts with her yet, and she came here to die!
good!
very good!
"I advise you to calm down. Even if I stand here, you can't do anything to me," Su Jin calmly reminded him of this fact.
Her words were like adding fuel to the fire for the enraged Zhao Zhihu.
I'm going to kill you!
Zhao Zhihu's eyes were terrifying; he wanted to tear her to pieces!
