Chapter 779 The Storm Is Coming
In the following days, Chen San dared not provoke Xiao Yunfeng at all.
He would take Zhao Wu out every day, and the two of them would always return dejected.
Xiao Yunfeng stopped asking when they would depart, remaining as calm as if he were on vacation.
On the sixth day, Chen San and Zhao Wu returned from town again.
"You can go now."
Chen San threw out those words without giving Xiao Yunfeng and Zhou Liu any time to react, and the four of them quietly left their residence.
After nightfall, they arrived at a beach.
The moonlight that should have been there was completely shrouded by dark clouds, and the sea was calm without the slightest ripple.
Even those unfamiliar with the weather can feel the oppressive atmosphere before a storm.
Chen San remained silent, found an inconspicuous spot to sit down, and seemed to be waiting for something.
Three or four more hours passed, and a fishing boat came swaying and rocking in the distance.
Chen San's eyes lit up immediately, and he stood up right away.
Xiao Yunfeng followed the three men and boarded the boat together.
Chen San first spoke a few words to the boatman in a low voice, then took out a thick wad of bills from his pocket. The boatman took the money and began to row.
The boat was small, just big enough to seat the four of them.
But the calm of the sea is what truly sends chills down your spine.
Everyone knew in their hearts that once the storm came, this little boat probably wouldn't even survive a single wave.
Chen San was tense, gripping the hull with both hands, his eyes fixed on the distance ahead.
They kept urging the boatman to hurry up, even faster.
When the boat began to rock and sway, Chen San immediately lost his composure.
When Xiao Yunfeng saw how impatient he was, wanting to help row the boat, he immediately realized that the man couldn't swim.
They can't swim, yet they chose this kind of weather to go out to sea.
Even God wanted him dead!
Compared to Chen San's panic, although Zhao Wu and Zhou Liu were also visibly nervous, they were at least able to remain calm.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning cleaved the heavens and the earth, shattering the tranquility, followed by a terrifying rumble of thunder.
A sea breeze suddenly arose.
The boatman tried his best to control the direction, but he couldn't overcome the power of nature.
The boat veered off course, and the rocking intensified!
"Row faster! Fuck you, row faster!" In a panic, Chen San pointed his gun at the boatman, trying to gain a chance to survive.
The boatman's face turned ashen. Instead of continuing to row, he simply let go of the oar.
Enraged, Chen San was about to fire his gun when a huge wave crashed in and capsized the small boat.
Everyone, including the boatman, fell into the bottomless waves.
A thunderous roar, lightning flashed, and torrential rain began to fall.
Xiao Yunfeng was completely swallowed by the seawater, bobbing up and down in the waves, completely unable to resist.
He simply let his body drift with the current, holding his breath to minimize the consumption of physical strength.
"Help...help...my life..."
A terrified scream came from not far away, but it vanished in an instant.
Xiao Yunfeng didn't care about Chen San's life or death at all; he even wished Chen San would perish at sea. But if Chen San died, no one would know how to get to that so-called island.
Even someone as powerful as him knew that whether he could successfully rescue Chen San was now entirely up to fate...
