Chapter 51 I'm Not Sad

Chapter 51 I'm Not Sad

"Why?"

Zhuo Lanyu seemed startled, staring at him in astonishment.

Zhou Zhenxing looked solemn and helpless. "I married her because of my parents' arrangement. From the time we got married until now, we haven't even been together for a month."

Zhuo Lanyu listened attentively.

“At first, I thought that was life. Finding a virtuous wife, being a good wife and mother, and taking care of the family would be the best. But later I realized that that was not the kind of marriage I wanted.”

Perhaps it was the wonderful atmosphere tonight, or perhaps it was Zhuo Lanyu's thoughtfulness that deeply touched Zhou Zhenxing's heart, so he was willing to tell her his truest feelings.

Zhuo Lanyu understood, "You don't love her."

"Yes. My feelings for her were completely natural; there was no passionate, dramatic emotion involved at all." Zhou Zhenxing felt that she truly understood him.

“I’m not saying she’s bad. She’s kind and sincere. But she’s just too indecisive and doesn’t have her own thoughts. Sometimes I even feel that she doesn’t love me and that the only reason she was willing to marry me was because my parents saved her life.”

Zhuo Lanyu listened attentively and couldn't help but ask, "So what kind of girl do you like?"

"Passionate, hardworking, constantly growing and never giving up!" Zhou Zhenxing said, his eyes filled with fervor as he looked at her. "She has her own dreams, and she's also very capable."

Just like her, she was like the sun, radiating dazzling light, extremely hot.

Zhuo Lanyu sensed something, and a faint blush rose to her cheeks.

“Your wife is completely different from the one you like. If that’s the case, I think you’re doing the right thing.”

Zhou Zhenxing immediately found common ground and his expression became slightly excited.

He had been troubled by Shi Kang's opinion on his divorce these past few days, and now he finally found an outlet for his frustration.

Don't you think what I'm doing is going too far?

Zhuo Lanyu shook her head. "If you don't get a divorce, you'll be wasting her life, and you'll also be letting yourself down."

Zhou Zhenxing was once again moved by her understanding. "Lan Yu, you are truly my confidante."

He insisted on getting a divorce and believed he hadn't done anything wrong, but he wasn't entirely without pressure.

But none of that matters now.

Zhuo Lanyu smiled gently at him, "I'm willing to be Brother Zhou's confidant."

Their eyes met, an ambiguous entanglement forming between them.

Five days later.

Su Jin finally met Zhou Zhenxing.

"This is the divorce certificate."

The moment Zhou Zhenxing handed her the divorce certificate, he felt completely relieved.

Su Jin opened it, glanced at it, and then put it away.

Zhou Zhenxing tried to find some emotion on her face, but he couldn't.

“You don’t have to pretend. If you feel sad, you can vent to me.”

Su Jin glanced at him indifferently, "I'm not sad."

With the divorce certificate in hand, she finally felt relieved.

"Are you saying this on purpose?" Zhou Zhenxing was quite certain of this; no woman would be unmoved by a divorce.

What's more, it was he who insisted on getting a divorce.

Su Jin had never noticed his narcissism before. "Think what you want."

I felt no resentment or hatred towards him, because there was no affection between us.

Zhou Zhenxing sighed, then continued, "Your status as an educated youth has been lifted. Although you don't remember your identity, you are now free to go anywhere."
