Chapter 15 Departure
"Su Jin, congratulations! You can finally go find Zhou Zhenxing!"
Sometimes Su Jin really admired Wang Hongying; how could she be so well-informed?
She waited a week before the county finally approved the application yesterday. In the evening, the village chief gave her the village's letter of introduction, and Wang Hongying already knew about it this morning.
"There's nothing to congratulate me on." This was absolutely what Su Jin really thought.
Wang Hongying took it as her being reserved. Finally, she could leave this poor mountain village and no longer have to go to work on time. This was certainly something to celebrate.
"By the way, I still don't know where your Zhou Zhenxing is serving in the army."
Now that she's gone, who knows if they'll ever see each other again.
Su Jin parted her lips slightly, "The capital."
Wang Hongying was suddenly stunned, her eyes wide open, clearly shocked.
"My goodness! So you're going to the capital?! The capital?!"
It would be a lie to say I wasn't envious at this moment. That's the capital city, a place that so many people dream of going to!
Su Jin, of course, knew what she was thinking, and calmly added, "It's considered part of the capital area, but the troops should be in the suburbs."
"That's the capital! How can you be so calm? If I were you, I would have joined the army three years ago, and I wouldn't have to suffer like this!"
Wang Hongying was extremely excited. She used to think Su Jin was too kind, but now she realized that Su Jin was just a fool.
Many educated youth sent to the countryside longed to stay in the city, but she had the opportunity to go to the capital, yet she didn't take it seriously.
Su Jin didn't think going to the capital was a good thing, but now she had no choice but to go.
"Have you bought your train ticket? Do you have enough money? If not, I have some more here!" Wang Hongying said proactively, genuinely treating her well.
Su Jin said, "Thank you, Sister Wang, but it's not necessary."
She hadn't paid back the money she'd borrowed from her before, but she remembered her kindness.
"Just book the fastest train ticket, lest something goes wrong!" Wang Hongying was really worried about her.
Two days ago, Zhao Zhihu was discharged from the hospital and returned to the village. Although the village chief warned him, given his vindictive nature, he certainly wouldn't let it go.
Su Jin responded with a simple "Okay".
We really can't afford to let things drag on any longer.
Two days later.
"Xiao Jin, there are some flatbreads and pickled vegetables in your bundle. Eat them if you get hungry on the road. Also, Mom wrote a letter for Zhenxing. Give it to Zhenxing when you get there."
Liu Guizhi didn't sleep a wink all night, repeatedly giving Su Jin instructions.
Su Jin took the letter she mentioned, which was actually just a folded piece of paper.
"Mom, you can't read, this letter is..."
"I had Erhuzi help me write it, so you don't need to read it. Just give it to Zhenxing," Liu Guizhi specifically instructed.
Su Jin didn't say a word more than necessary and simply put the letter in her pocket.
"After you go there, you must be more tolerant of Zhenxing and live a good life with him."
Liu Guizhi had said these words many times, but she still felt uneasy.
"I will," Su Jin replied obediently, until the tractor driver next to her urged her on.
The village is more than 20 miles away from the county seat, and the village chief specially arranged for the village's only tractor to take her there.
Su Jin got on the tractor, and Liu Guizhi finally stopped talking, her eyes red.
Da da da!
The tractor made a lot of noise.
"Xiao Jin, when you see Zhenxing, tell him to come back quickly and offer incense to your father!" Liu Guizhi finally cried out, watching the tractor drive further and further away.
