Chapter 726 I'm scared
"Brigade Commander, it's time for lunch."
Wang Liang carried a lunchbox to Xiao Yunfeng's bedside.
Xiao Yunfeng had just finished his IV drip and was leaning against the bed. When he saw him come in, a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.
"I'm not hungry yet. Has Xiaojin eaten?"
Su Jin sent him back to his ward yesterday, and he hasn't come over yet.
Wang Liang dared not tell him that Su Jin went to Zhou Zhenxing's place after receiving the IV drip.
“I delivered all the food to her, and she said she would come to see the brigade commander after she finished eating.”
Xiao Yunfeng then said, "Then I'll wait for her to come over before we eat."
Wang Liang looked away guiltily, afraid that Xiao Yunfeng would see through his lie.
"Commander, you should eat first, otherwise the food will get cold. You promised Su Jin and the doctor that you would cooperate well with the treatment."
Xiao Yunfeng gave him a deep look, but still had no intention of eating.
At that moment, Su Jin appeared at the door of the ward.
When Wang Liang saw her, his eyes lit up immediately.
Xiao Yunfeng's originally cold expression instantly softened.
"Su Jin, the brigade commander refuses to eat," Wang Liang complained directly to Su Jin.
He couldn't persuade the brigade commander, but he definitely could with this girl.
Sure enough, Su Jin frowned immediately. "Uncle, why aren't you eating?"
Xiao Yunfeng actually smiled and said, "I didn't skip meals. I wasn't hungry before, but I am now."
How are you feeling today? Are you feeling any better?
Xiao Yunfeng observed her complexion.
She recovered much faster than him, which is a good thing.
Su Jin hummed in agreement. "The doctor said I can be discharged in three or four days."
He sat down by the hospital bed as he spoke.
"Brother Wang, you can go out first. I'll take care of Uncle."
"I'll be right outside. Take good care of the brigade commander."
Wang Liang's words had a hidden meaning; although he wouldn't be a third wheel, he genuinely didn't trust her.
Su Jin picked up the soup bowl, felt the temperature in her palm, and then brought it to Xiao Yunfeng's lips.
Xiao Yunfeng cooperated completely.
Neither of them spoke first.
After Xiao Yunfeng indicated that he was full, Su Jin put down her bowl and chopsticks.
Xiao Yunfeng said, "Wang Liang can take care of it in a bit."
I couldn't bear to let her do too much.
Su Jin nodded.
Silence fell between them once again.
A few seconds later, Su Jin stood up from the chair. "Uncle, please rest well. I'll go back to my ward now."
Xiao Yunfeng was reluctant to let her leave so soon, so he grabbed her wrist.
"Don't you want to spend a little more time with your uncle?"
Su Jin's breath hitched as she thought of the resentment she felt at the moment of the explosion.
But now that he was right in front of Xiao Yunfeng, he couldn't seem to say anything.
"Of course not. I just didn't want to disturb my uncle's rest."
"Then stay with your uncle a little longer, okay?"
Xiao Yunfeng's voice was very soft, almost pleading.
Before Su Jin could even process what was happening, she had already sat back down.
"Xiao Jin, I'm scared," Xiao Yunfeng said quietly.
This seemingly random remark sent a shiver down Su Jin's spine, and she clenched her fists abruptly.
What are you afraid of?
Xiao Yunfeng said, almost emphasizing each word, "I'm afraid something will happen to you, I'm afraid we can never be together again."
He was telling the truth; he rushed there desperately that day, but he was still too late.
Watching her being engulfed by the thick smoke of the explosion was a moment of terror he had never experienced before.
