Chapter 7 Something happened at home

Feng Yuheng returned to Xiping Village with twenty taels of silver. She had found the concept of this huge sum of money from the original owner's memory along the way. In this mountain village where one tael of silver was enough for a family of three to live for a month, twenty taels was indeed a huge sum of money.

When she returned to the village, it was already daybreak. She picked up a lot of herbs and mushrooms along the way, tied them with vines and carried them on her shoulders. Since she went into the mountains to pick herbs, she couldn't return empty-handed.

I forgot to go home, but before I got there, I heard a commotion: a shrew swearing, a child crying, and a woman begging for mercy.

She took two quick steps and found that the place where the accident happened was the home she was going back to.

Xu, who was not burned to death in the mass grave last night, was dragging a woman out of the yard by the arm. A little boy of five or six years old was crying and supporting the woman who had fallen to the ground.

Xu kicked the little boy away and said, "Get lost! You must move out of here today. I want to take back the house. If you want to continue living here, you have to pay me one year's rent!"

The woman on the ground was too weak to stand being dragged like this. She was panting rapidly and begging desperately: "Can you wait for our Ah Heng to come back? Even if we have to move, we have to wait for the child to come back!"

"Your Ah Heng? She ran away a long time ago! She said she was going into the mountains to collect herbs, but she hasn't come back in two days. She must have either run away or been eaten by a wolf. What hope do you have?"

"My sister won't be eaten by the wolf!" the little boy shouted, "My sister won't be eaten by the wolf!"

"Ah Heng won't abandon us!" The woman also refuted Xu's words, "Please let us wait for one more day, just one day."

"Not even for one day! Get out of here right now!" Xu raised her foot and was about to kick the woman on the ground in the chest.

But before her foot touched solid ground, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her calf, so painful that she could not stand steadily and sat down on the ground.

The strange things that happened in the mass grave last night echoed in Xu's mind again. It was just like what happened just now, with sudden attacks one after another, painful and terrifying, and there was no way to avoid them.

Xu screamed strangely, and her eyes gradually fixed on a direction outside the yard. She saw the girl who was thrown into the mass grave by her and her man, walking towards her step by step with a cold look in her eyes.

"Sister!" As soon as Feng Yuheng entered the yard, the little boy threw himself into her arms, tears on his face, and his arms were tightly around her. "Sister, you are finally back. They said you don't want Rui'er and mother anymore, wuuuu..." The child burst into tears, and his thin arms were wrapped around her, which was painful.

"Rui'er, don't be afraid." She patted the child's back, held up the miserable little face, and took a look at it, her heart skipping a beat.

Feng Zirui is the original owner's biological brother with the same father and mother, but...how come he looks exactly like her brother who died at the age of six in her previous life?

Feng Yuheng's heart trembled, and she forgot that it was rolling in an instant.

That year, she was ten years old and her brother was six years old. They had kidney disease. The Feng family was a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. Grandpa and father were both the best doctors of traditional Chinese medicine, but their family was most proud of their skills but they could not save their brother. It was from that year that her grandfather decisively asked her to give up inheriting the family business and switch to studying Western medicine.

Although Chinese medicine can cure the root cause, Western medicine is faster. When facing acute diseases, Western medicine can cure them immediately, while Chinese medicine can cure diseases as easily as pulling out a thread.

Feng Yuheng slowly withdrew her thoughts and looked at the child in her arms. A sense of belonging that had not existed since she woke up last night finally came over her. Wasn't she alone in this strange era?

Then he turned his gaze to the woman on the ground, the original owner's mother, Yao.

Feng Yuheng's nose felt sore again. In her previous life, her mother died of complications during childbirth when she gave birth to her younger brother. Over the years, her mother's appearance had gradually become blurred in her mind. But now, Yao's eyebrows and eyes were so kind, and the blurred image that she had not seen for many years appeared before her eyes again.

She suddenly laughed!

Thank God, this time of time travel turned out to be such a thoughtful arrangement.

"Ah Heng." Perhaps it was inappropriate for her to laugh at this time, Yao was a little flustered, "Did something happen?"

She took her brother and walked forward, helped Yao up from the ground, brushed off the dust on her body and said in a soft voice, "It's okay, mother, don't worry, with Ah Heng here, no one can bully us."

Yao was indeed relieved. Her Ah Heng had always been a girl with her own ideas. If it weren't for Ah Heng supporting her during the years when she was driven out of the Feng family, the three of them would probably not have survived until today.

It's just a pity that she has to bear all these at such a young age. Looking at the things Feng Yuheng brought back, tears welled up in Yao's eyes.

"Mom, don't cry." She patted the back of Yao's hand, then handed Feng Zirui's little hand to Yao, then turned around and walked to Xu, squatting down: "Xu's arm is seriously injured."

As she spoke, her eyes were already cast at the exposed part of Xu's wrist. Although it had been simply treated with herbal medicine, the obvious burns still looked shocking.

Xu shivered and subconsciously tried to block it with her sleeve, but this hit the wound and made her grimace in pain.

"I went into the mountains to collect herbs yesterday and got delayed there. I don't know how, but I heard ghosts howling in the deep mountains. It seemed like many wronged souls were calling out for something... Oh, right, they wanted to collect debts from the people who burned them." Feng Yuheng's voice was very soft, but he spoke seriously, as if he was telling a story.

But to some people this story sounded like a death sentence. Xu sat on the ground and backed away step by step. Finally, she could not resist any more and screamed madly, then stood up and was about to run away.

But just as she got up, she was grabbed by a small hand from behind. Xu slapped her hands backwards like she was in a state of collapse, and shouted loudly: "Let me go! You are the evil ghost! You are the wronged soul!"

"Thanks to you, Feng Yuheng is indeed." Feng Yuheng's voice was still soft, "But the King of Hell did not accept me."

There was a mystery hidden in her words, meaning that the original Feng Yuheng had been killed by the big stick and sleeping pills used by the couple, but unfortunately the current Feng Yuheng had gone to the King of Hell and was sent to this era again.

Xu naturally didn't understand what this meant, but she also knew that she had done something wrong, and what happened in the mountains last night was indeed strange, so she was so scared that she almost didn't dare to think about it. Originally, she wanted to come here this morning to drive Yao and Feng Zirui out of Xiping Village, and it would be best if she didn't see this family again in the future, so that she could forget about it. But unexpectedly, Feng Yuheng came back again.

"A year ago, my mother fell ill." Feng Yuheng followed the original owner's memory and settled accounts with Xu, "The Feng family only had fifty taels of silver left, and my mother gave it all to you. But fifty taels of silver only bought three doses of medicine, Aunt Xu, let's settle this account carefully."

"That... that medicine is very expensive." Xu didn't dare to look into Feng Yuheng's eyes. This girl was originally likable and hardly talked to the villagers. But at most, she was just aloof. Why did she feel that those eyes were particularly scary today?

Without waiting for Feng Yuheng to say anything else, Xu ran out of the yard with all her might, as if she was risking her life.

Feng Yuheng's little hand didn't expect to catch anyone at all, and she didn't want to catch anyone. She just wanted to scare her and remind her that she had not forgotten the bad things she had done.

Seeing that Xu was about to run away, Feng Yuheng raised her lips slightly and shouted again: "Your children are watching! There will be retribution in this world, don't disbelieve it!"

After shouting this, Xu became even more devastated. She fell to the ground with a thud, but did not stop. She crawled away towards her home.

But before she had climbed two steps, she saw a horse-drawn carriage coming towards her. The carriage was driving very fast, and the dust it raised blinded the eyes of the onlookers. It drove in front of Xu, and the horse neighed and stopped at the whip of the driver.

"You're blind!" Xu was so scared that her face turned pale. She was almost trampled to death by the horse.

Bang!

The coachman didn't say a word and swung the whip with full force, beating Xu's skin and flesh to pieces.

This was not the end. The second and third whips came down immediately, and Xu crawled on the ground, groaning.

"What a boastful tone you have, village woman!" The coachman sneered, "Don't you even open your eyes and see that you can afford to offend a family that owns a carriage like this?"
