Chapter 13: The Dagger in the Backyard

"Miss Hua, do you have anything else to say?" Gu Changsu looked at Hua Yuanzhao, his eyes as sharp as an eagle, as if he wanted to dig a hole in her.

"The innocent are innocent. Your Highness, please feel free to investigate!" Hua Yuanzhao said solemnly. She looked at Hua Yuanshan again, her eyes full of sarcasm.

"As for whether you dare to admit it...why should you admit to something you haven't done?" Hua Yuanzhao sneered.

"Song Zuo." Gu Changsu tilted his head to look at Song Zuo, who was hanging his arms, and ordered him, "Go find him."

Hua Yuanshan just lowered her head and pretended to cry. When she heard Gu Changsu's words, she looked up and gave Hua Yuanzhao a weird smile.

Glancing at Hua Yuanshan's expression, Hua Yuanzhao slowly frowned, and suddenly had an ominous premonition in his heart.

What does Hua Yuanshan want to do now?

Time passed moment by moment. The searchers moved very slowly and it was half an hour later when they returned.

Because he was injured by Hua Yuanzhao before, Song Zuo was in so much pain that sweat appeared on his forehead, but he could not hide his excitement.

He walked quickly to Gu Changsu holding a tray, and on the tray was a bloody dagger!

"Found it! It's buried under the tree behind Miss Hua's yard!" Song Zuo gritted his teeth and emphasized, "Miss Hua hid it very well. We had to use hunting dogs to find it!"

At Gu Changsu's signal, the coroner took the dagger, leaned over to compare the dagger with the wound, and said confidently: "Your Highness! The deceased's knife wound was indeed caused by this dagger."

Gu Changsu heaved a sigh of relief. He asked with a dark face, "The evidence is irrefutable. Miss Hua, do you have anything else to say?"

"Hua Yuanzhao, if you still have some conscience, just commit suicide." Prime Minister Hua sighed. If he confessed his guilt and committed suicide, he could keep his body intact, which would preserve their father-daughter relationship.

"Eldest sister - it was you who really killed my cousin!" Hua Yuanshan cried bitterly: "You have such a vicious heart!"

Looking at the dagger covered in dirt and blood, Hua Yuanzhao was also stunned. She was sure that she had never seen this dagger, let alone killed anyone!

But she didn't sleep last night and didn't hear any unusual movement. It was impossible for someone to bury a dagger in the dark and frame her!

"It's impossible for my young lady to kill anyone!" Fuling knelt down on the ground and cried in panic.

"Master! The young lady is innocent! She has never been to the backyard since she came up the mountain!"

"Fuling is the eldest sister's maid, so she will naturally side with her." Hua Yuanshan took out a handkerchief and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.

"It's just Fuling, there should be a limit to helping the master tell lies. How can you lie when it comes to matters of life and death?" Hua Yuanshan was neither anxious nor panicked. Who would believe the words of a maid?

Looking at the calm Hua Yuanshan, Hua Yuanzhao felt heavy in his heart. Only then did he realize that the appearance of the dagger was related to Hua Yuanshan!

"Evil girl! You still don't admit your guilt!" Prime Minister Hua saw her standing there in a daze, and at first glance, she looked guilty after being caught, and he was immediately furious.

Prime Minister Hua angrily bowed to Gu Changsu and said, "Your Highness, since this evil girl doesn't want this dignity, then deal with her according to the law!"

This was the sentence he was waiting for. Gu Changsu smiled and immediately ordered, "Come here, take the prisoner down!"

"Wait a minute!" Hua Yuanzhao took a half step back and shouted.

"What else do you have to argue about?" Gu Changsu just found it funny. He had not ordered anyone to take action just for the sake of Prime Minister Hua's face.

Who wants to listen to this stupid fat pig?

"If you have anything to say, let's talk about it in prison!" Gu Changsu waved his hand. He didn't have to worry about her not talking in prison.

Hua Yuanzhao took a deep breath, closed his eyes, gritted his teeth and said: "First, I didn't kill anyone!"

"Second, this dagger is not mine!" She raised her finger and said solemnly.

"Evidence?" Gu Changsu was too lazy to say more to her. She was the best at lying. Who knew what other words she would say would disturb people's hearts?

"I don't have any evidence." Hua Yuanzhao gritted his teeth, "But I can prove one thing."

"Han Yunlan was not killed by this dagger!"

Gu Changsu was almost laughing out of anger. Couldn’t this woman see such an obvious fatal wound in the heart?

Hua Yuanshan sneered. Is this woman crazy? Does she think that she can save her life by pretending to be crazy and delaying time here?

Everyone thought she was just being mysterious and no one paid any attention to her words.
