Chapter 4 Signed and parted ways

Hua Fushu became suspicious and asked, "Second Young Master, how did you recognize my identity?"

Ye Zelin's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile. He walked gently to the table and pulled out a wooden stool. "Sister Fushu, please sit down."

Hua Fushu observed his actions vigilantly, but did not find anything unusual.

She pondered for a moment, then sat on the second wooden bench away from Ye Zelin.

Ye Zelin didn't seem to care about her actions and just smiled indifferently.

He did not sit on the wooden bench next to Hua Fushu, but chose a seat a little further away from her.

Hua Fushu crossed her legs slightly and gently waved her folding fan, not feeling nervous at all about being alone in a room with a man and a woman. Ye Zelin didn't seem embarrassed either, just looked at her with a faint smile.

Soon, a pretty maid brought tea and snacks.

The maid placed the tea and snacks on the table, then bowed slightly and said, "Sir, I will take my leave."

Ye Zelin nodded slightly and said, "Thank you, Miss."

The maid lowered her head shyly and hurriedly left the room.

Hua Fushu looked at the tea and snacks on the table and deliberately teased, "Second Young Master is truly an elegant man, surrounded by beautiful confidantes. He is truly blessed with great fortune."

After hearing this, Ye Zelin just smiled faintly and did not give any explanation.

He picked up the blue and white porcelain teapot, filled two teacups, and placed a cup of tea in front of Hua Fushu himself: "Sister Fushu, please have some tea."

Hua Fushu looked at the tea in front of him, but had no intention of drinking it.

She gently pushed the red bean cake in front of her away and said, "I'm not thirsty or hungry, so you should enjoy it yourself, Second Young Master."

At this time, Hua Fushu was even more confused.

She thought her identity did not reveal any flaws, but Ye Zelin seemed to have seen through everything.

She decided to ask him directly, "Second Young Master, how did you guess my identity? I don't think I've revealed any flaws."

Suddenly I heard the sound of a pipa coming from the private room next door.

The music sounded like the loud noise of big strings like a sudden downpour, and the soft whispers of small strings, played in a mixed manner, like pearls big and small falling on a jade plate.

Hua Fushu originally wanted to interrupt the pipa music, after all, it was not good to interfere with other people's business.

However, the sound of the pipa was so beautiful that she resisted the urge and listened carefully.

While sipping tea and enjoying the pipa music, Ye Zelin glanced at Hua Fushu from time to time, full of curiosity and confusion.

He had many questions in his mind: She didn't look like it was her first time at the brothel. Was she alone or with some companion?

When the sound of the pipa stopped, Hua Fushu came back to her senses from the beautiful music, only to find that Ye Zelin was staring at her with a strange expression.

She couldn't help but become alert, and Ye Zelin's actions made her feel uneasy.

She said coldly, "What are you looking at?"

Ye Zelin realized his own misstep and hastily looked away. He coughed twice to hide his embarrassment, then cleared his throat and said, "Sister Fushu, do you also understand the language of the pipa?"

Hua Fushu actually didn’t understand the language of the pipa, she just thought the music was nice.

However, Ye Zelin's direct gaze made her feel uncomfortable and she couldn't help but become alert.

She wondered in her heart: What exactly is Ye Zelin's intention? She couldn't take it lightly.

So she said coldly: "What does it have to do with you?"

Ye Zelin was slightly taken aback, and said calmly: "I saw Sister Fushu was listening intently, so I guess you understand the language of the pipa."

Hua Fushu thought that since he had been here for a long time, the issue of breaking off the engagement should be resolved as soon as possible.

She was not familiar with Ye Zelin and didn't want to waste time talking to him.

Just as she was about to discuss breaking off the engagement, Ye Zelin spoke first: "Sister Fushu, do you really want to know how I discovered your identity?"

Hua Fushu no longer wanted to ask this question, but Ye Zelin began to explain: "When Mother Sai asked you your name, you said your name was Hua Yingjun. Did you know that Hua Yingjun was the pseudonym your father used when he and my father became sworn brothers? And you just happen to be from the Su family."

Hua Fushu's eyes widened in disbelief. "Just because of these few words, you know my identity? Impossible."

Ye Zelin continued, "I naturally can't recognize your identity based on just a few words, but there aren't many people with the surname Hua in Sunian, if at all. That's just one reason. The second reason is your eyes. I haven't seen you for over a decade, so I naturally wouldn't recognize you at first glance. But the more I look at your eyes, the more familiar they seem to me. They're exactly like Uncle Hua's. Coupled with your hostility towards Feixu, that's enough to make me doubt your identity."

Hua Fushu's eyes widened in disbelief, "Just based on these few words, you dare to determine my identity? This is impossible."

Ye Zelin said calmly, "Of course, I can't identify you based on just these few words. However, within Su Nian's area, there aren't many people with the surname Hua, or even none at all. That's just the first point. The second point is your eyes. Although we haven't met for over a decade, I didn't recognize you the first time I saw you. However, your eyes feel incredibly familiar to me, exactly like Uncle Hua Shi's. Coupled with your hostility towards Fei Xu, I began to doubt you."

Hua Fushu smiled softly, "I have hostility towards that woman? Mr. Ye, are you overthinking it? You are not related to me."

As soon as he finished speaking, Hua Fushu realized that he had said the wrong thing.

They have not yet broken off their engagement.

Ye Zelin immediately looked at Hua Fushu, who turned his head away to avoid his gaze.

Ye Zelin continued, "Third, when I mentioned that Madam Qidie's daughter was my fiancée, you looked flustered and your eyes flickered. If you weren't Hua Fushu, why were you so nervous? Combining these three points, I suspect you are Hua Fushu. When I called you Sister Fushu, you already gave yourself away."
