As Hua Fushu expected, Mrs. Gao's fever subsided and then recurred for two days.
Ouyang Jingming and Ye Zelin served him, but Hua Fushu had never been to Rong Xitang once.
This caused a lot of talk among the servants and maids, who blamed the old lady's illness on Hua Fushu. Everyone who saw her had a bad face, but they couldn't get angry because she was Lin Ge's daughter-in-law.
In the afternoon of the 15th day of the lunar month, Mrs. Gao drank a bowl of medicine. Within an hour, her fever miraculously subsided and her spirits improved.
Seeing that the old lady's fever had subsided, Ouyang Jingming and Ye Zelin breathed a sigh of relief. Ouyang Jingming said, "Tong Niang, your fever has finally subsided. I was worried for two days. Xiaolin and Qingdai also took care of you non-stop for two days, especially Qingdai."
Old Madam Gao looked towards Qingdai, but saw that her eyes were slightly dimmed and she looked exhausted. She said, "Qingdai, thank you for taking care of me. Even a strong body can't stand two days without sleep. You should go down and rest for a while."
Qingdai yawned, bowed and said yes, then walked out.
She was indeed feeling uncomfortable after two days of not resting, but she was not in a hurry to return to Mo Lian Pavilion. She went to find Chengpi to ask about it, and only returned to Mo Lian Pavilion after seeing that everything was fine.
Ouyang Jingming was afraid that the old lady was hungry, so he was ordering the servants to make some porridge and vegetables. Sanqiao came in with a bowl of millet porridge, saying that Hua Fushu had asked her to make it and send it to her.
The yellow millet porridge was fragrant, soft and sticky, making people's appetites grow at the sight of it. Ouyang Jingming took it and fed the old lady himself, praising Hua Fushu, "My nephew's wife is really sensible."
Old Mrs. Gao really didn't want to eat anything that Hua Fushu had touched, but she had no choice but to force herself to eat it. Although the millet porridge was delicious, she didn't feel happy at all while eating it.
Another hour passed, and Chengpi brought the last dose of medicine. After taking the medicine, the old lady did not have a fever again until the next day.
The sun is shining and the spring breeze is gentle.
Old Mrs. Gao changed her clothes and was supported by Ouyang Jingming and Qingdai as she walked in the yard, with the Ye Zelin brothers following behind her.
When the old lady was tired, she sat down in an octagonal pavilion.
The old lady called Ye Zelin to sit next to her and chatted with him. Ouyang Jingming and Ye Songyan sat elsewhere.
Ouyang Jingming said, "Xiao Si, practice the Tai Chi techniques I found in the book. I'll spar with you next time we meet."
Ye Songyan was very grateful to Ouyang Jingming for finding the Tai Chi boxing technique for him. He smiled and said, "Mr. Ming painstakingly found this. Songyan will definitely practice it well and make it worth Mr. Ming's hard work."
Ouyang Jingming really disliked this title and said unhappily, "I've said it hundreds of times, don't call me Master, call me Uncle."
Ye Zelin looked at Ouyang Jingming, and Ye Songyan refused, "How can this be possible?"
Ouyang Jingming said, "Your personality is neither like your grandfather nor my brother-in-law. If I ask you to call me uncle, then just call me uncle. Why are you talking so much nonsense?"
In a dilemma, Ye Songyan had to call him "little uncle", but this made Ouyang Jingming feel happy and cheerful, as if Ye Songyan was his own nephew.
Although Ye Zelin did not like his uncle Ouyang Jingming's random recognition of relatives, he could not stop Ye Songyan because Ouyang Jingming liked him.
Old Lady Gao and Ye Zelin had the same idea, but when they saw their nephew being so close to Ye Songyan, they suddenly felt that Ye Songyan was a descendant of the Ouyang family. Perhaps it was an illusion because he and Ye Zelin were too similar.
The old lady asked how Hua Fushu was doing, and Ye Zelin replied, "Fushu has been very well behaved these past two days, not leaving Luoxia Pavilion even once. She wants to apologize to her great aunt but is afraid of upsetting her. Every time I go to Rongxi Hall, she asks me to say hello to her great aunt on her behalf."
Old Mrs. Gao just asked casually and didn't want to continue talking. She chatted about family matters with Ye Zelin and others.
Soon, the housekeeper Uncle Ouyang came with a servant and greeted Old Madam Gao.
Ouyang Jingming saw that he looked unfamiliar and asked who he was.
The servant said he was from another courtyard.
The housekeeper, Uncle Ouyang, quickly informed everyone that the Second Master had fallen ill again.
Old Mrs. Gao was anxious, and Ouyang Jingming was also anxious.
The servant said again, "Madam, the Second Master is not only ill, he's also gone mad and has injured two people."
Old Madam Gao and Ouyang Jingming were both shocked and hurried to the villa. The Ye Zelin brothers also followed.
Hua Fushu saw several people walking quickly from afar, looking very anxious. She was originally going out to look for the patient, but she was curious about this and followed them with Sanqiao.
The few of them were heading to the Ouyang family's villa. Just as they were about to enter, Hua Fushu called out to someone, "Ye Zelin."
Ye Zelin turned around and saw that it was Hua Fushu and Sanqiao. He asked them how they got here, but Hua Fushu didn't answer him and went up the stairs.
Old Madam Gao was anxious, and Ouyang Jingming was also extremely worried. They hurried to the yard. Ye Zelin looked at the flowers and said to Ye Songyan, "Look after your second sister-in-law."
After saying that, Ye Zelin also entered the yard.
When Hua Fushu asked what happened, Ye Songyan only gave a rough idea, saying that the second master of the Ouyang family had a mad attack.
As for why Second Master Ouyang was insane, Ye Songyan seemed unclear and did not tell Hua Fushu either.
Hearing that someone was injured, Hua Fushu hurried in, followed by Sanqiao and Ye Songyan.
As soon as he entered the yard, he heard some sounds from afar. Hua Fushu quickened his pace and after passing two moon gates, he saw a scene.
Ye Zelin and Ouyang Jingming were entangled with a man, while Qingdai was protecting Old Madam Gao.
The man was ferocious and had messy white hair. He was wearing black clothes and had a thin body. He was waving a long sword in his hand. Ye Zelin, Ouyang Jingming and the servants did not dare to approach him.
There were some bloodstains on the ground. Hua Fushu looked to the side and found that the two servants had broken flesh. There was their blood, and the bandages were stained red with blood.
