Sanqiao nodded and left with Cuizhi.

Dugu Lanxi called Hua Fushu for some tea and snacks, and Hua Fushu picked up the tea and drank it slowly.

Dugu Lanxi said, "Mother, General Li's wife Wen sent a visiting card, and your daughter-in-law took the initiative to decline it for you."

Dugu Lanxi continued, "I heard from mother that your mother was not in good health, but she is feeling better now."

Hua Fushu said, "My mother fell ill when she gave birth to me and my younger sister. She has been well taken care of over the years and is much better now."

Dugu Lanxi sighed softly, "Ten months of pregnancy and one day of childbirth, giving birth is a difficult hurdle for women. Only when your mother is well can we, as her children, feel at ease."

Hua Fushu smiled. Dugu Lanxi walked over and asked Hua Fushu a few questions, and Hua Fushu answered them one by one.
