Chapter 1036: Confused

Chapter 1036: Stupid

The night wind blew, and the petals of the spiritual tree fell down one after another.

A petal happened to fall on Luo Li's hair. Di Xuanming subconsciously raised his hand, but stopped in mid-air.

Lan Xiaoxiao tugged at An Shuxue's sleeve from behind and whispered, "Should we leave first?"

An Shuxue nodded in understanding and raised her voice, "Ali, we suddenly remembered that we have something else to do, so we'll go back to the inn first!"

Luo Li turned around and saw the two men winking at her, then pulling Yue Hanchuan and the others, turning around and leaving quickly.

She smiled helplessly, and when she looked at Di Xuanming again, she found that he was staring at the lake in a daze.

"Ah Ming," she asked softly, "Do you want to take a walk together?"

Emperor Xuanming nodded slightly.

The two walked slowly along the lakeside path, with the gradually fading lights behind them and a winding moonlit path ahead.

"Why did you suddenly leave the Ninth Heaven? Does Yan Ye know about it?" Luo Li broke the silence.

"He knows," Di Xuanming paused, "Do you want to participate in this gathering of immortals?"

"Yeah." Luo Li nodded.

Emperor Xuanming suddenly stopped and took out an exquisite jade box from his sleeve: "This is for you."

Luo Li took it and opened it. It was a jade pendant with a faint blue light and engraved with a complicated defensive formation.

"This is……"

"The Heart-Protecting Jade," Di Xuanming said calmly, "The Immortal Gathering is fraught with danger. Bring it with you just in case."

Luo Li's fingertips gently stroked the delicate lines on the jade pendant, feeling the majestic soul power flowing through it. She couldn't help but look up: "Did you come here specially to give this to me?"

Di Xuanming's fingers curled slightly in his sleeves, his face calm, "It just so happened to be perfected."

The night wind suddenly picked up, making the sacred trees on the shore rustle.

A willow leaf swirled and landed on Di Xuanming's shoulder. Luo Li subconsciously reached out to brush it away, but her wrist was grabbed the moment it touched his clothes.

When their eyes met, both of them were stunned.

Luo Li's fingertips trembled slightly, a smile appeared in her eyes, and she stared into his eyes.

Di Xuanming's palms were slightly warm as his fingertips caressed the pale blue veins on her wrist. Suddenly, he loosened his grip, lowered his eyes, and crushed the leaves into shattered light. "It's getting late."

When he turned around, his sleeves brought up a gust of wind, which rolled up the light blue light in the jade box and wrapped around Luo Li's fingertips.

The last holy lotus lamp on the distant island in the middle of the lake drifted towards the mist. She looked at his straight back and suddenly felt that the shadow of the sacred tree in the moonlight was more dizzying than fireworks.

"A-Ming." She called him softly and hid the jade pendant close to her body. "Thank you."

The young man in black paused at the intersection of the moonlight and the tree shadows, his Adam's apple moving slightly: "No need."

The ending tone softened, like a new branch emerging from a spiritual tree. "Go back early. I have things to do."

Luo Li watched him transform into a streak of light and fly towards the sky. The dark patterns on his clothes drew tiny silver rays in the night sky.

The wind brought Lan Xiaoxiao's distant voice. She touched the hot jade pendant on her chest and suddenly chuckled - this fool, his ears were obviously red as if they were about to bleed, but he insisted on pretending to be so calm.

He has really lost his memory and has become confused.

There were only a few scattered lights left by the lake, casting tiny golden rays of light with the waves.

She walked back on the fallen petals, the jade pendant swaying gently under her clothes.

Ye Yichen's laughter and scolding could be heard from the direction of the inn in the distance. Mu Ze was arguing with Lan Xiaoxiao about how many crystal coins to bring to the next lantern festival, while An Shuxue was counting the cakes he won from guessing lantern riddles.

Luo Li suddenly remembered the warmth of Di Xuanming's fingertips and the leaf that fell when he turned around.

It turns out that some feelings, without having to be expressed out loud, will quietly create gentle ripples on the lake like the sacred lotus lamp.

The night wind carried the last wisps of piano music across her hair. She looked up at the fading starlight, the curve at the corner of her lips brighter than all the lights tonight.

When Luo Li returned to the inn, she happened to see Lan Xiaoxiao standing on tiptoe to stuff osmanthus candy into the windowsill of her room.

The girl's hair was still stained with night dew. Seeing her return, she immediately jumped down the stone steps, silver bells tinkling in her hair: "Ah Li, try it! Wan Bai said this is the sweetest candy he has ever tasted. You should try it too--"

Luo Li took a bite from her hand and wrinkled her nose. "It's too sweet. I don't like it."

Lan Xiaoxiao nodded in agreement, "I think so too. Let's leave them all to Yueying. She loves sweet food the most."

"Okay," Luo Li waved her hand, "Go and rest, see you tomorrow."

"Okay," Lan Xiaoxiao said with a smile, "See you tomorrow."

The next day, early morning.

When Luo Li walked to the first floor of the inn, Lan Xiaoxiao and the others were already having breakfast.

Seeing Luo Li coming down the stairs, they all raised their hands to call her over, "Ali, here!"

Luo Li walked over and sat down, picked up a steamed bun and took a bite, then looked towards the street, "A lot of people came today."

"Yes," Lan Xiaoxiao said lazily, holding up her chin. "The Immortal Gathering is only a few days away. People from other forces should be arriving in Yaochi City one after another in the next few days."

Luo Li nodded. "Indeed, Xie Shiyuan and the others should be arriving soon. The Mu family, Ji family, and other forces belonging to the Ninth Heaven should also be arriving soon. It's going to be quite lively then."

Everyone nodded in agreement, "That's right!"

After breakfast, Lan Xiaoxiao and Song Wanbai went out shopping, while the others went back to their rooms to rest.

Luo Li returned to the room and just opened the window to get some fresh air when she heard the sound of crisp bells coming from outside the window.

She looked over and saw a group of people in purple clothes walking from the end of the street. Each of them had a string of silver bells tied around their waist, which made pleasant sounds as they walked.

"People from the northern border?" Luo Li frowned slightly. This usually low-key force actually arrived in Yaochi City ahead of time.

Just as she was thinking, there was a sudden noise downstairs.

Luo Li hurried downstairs and saw a lot of people gathered at the entrance of the inn.

She squeezed to the front and found that Lan Xiaoxiao, Song Wanbai and several other guests of the inn were confronting several unfamiliar spiritual masters.

"What's going on?" Luo Li asked the innkeeper beside her in a low voice.

"Guest, it's the guests from the Shenlong tribe who want to requisition this inn and ask all guests to move out," the waiter said with a bitter face, "and the other guests disagreed, so they started arguing."

Luo Li's eyes darkened and she walked forward.

The young man in golden clothes, who was leading the group, said coldly, "Do you think you have the right to dictate what my Shenlong clan does?!"

Lan Xiaoxiao's cheeks flushed with anger: "We were the ones who booked the room first, why should we give it to you?"

"Why?" The young man from the Shenlong clan sneered, his right hand already on the hilt of the sword, "Just because of this!"

Just as the sword was about to be unsheathed, a cold voice came from the crowd: "The Shenlong clan is so majestic."

Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw a woman in white walking slowly towards them. The jade pendant on her waist shone with a warm luster in the sunlight.

The young man in gold clothes' expression changed slightly: "Thank you Shiyuan?"

Xie Shiyuan walked over to Lan Xiaoxiao and stood beside her, saying calmly, "Long Yan, I haven't seen you for a few years. You've become more and more domineering."
