Chapter 1278: Journey to the Great Wilderness 8

Chapter 1278: Journey to the Great Wilderness 8

Something is wrong...

The Bone Guard's gaze was like a poisoned ice spike as he scanned the tavern. Seeing no one respond, he added coldly, "This man is suspected of stealing the secret treasure of the Emperor Tribe. Anyone who hides and fails to report this will be considered an accomplice and will be killed without mercy."

As soon as the words fell, the hall was so silent that one could only hear the crackling of the candlelight.

Luo Li buried her face in the shadow of the gray robe, her thoughts turning over in her mind.

Stealing secret treasures?

With Cangwu's temperament, he would never do such a thing.

What's more, he has known Indra for many years and has personally said that he and Indra are close friends.

Even if they might not approve of each other when they first met, it wouldn't get to the point where they would be hunted down, right?

She calmly extended the power of chaos, wrapping around the auras of the bone guards like spider silk.

The power flowing in these people's bodies is cold and stagnant, with an inhuman stiffness, making them look like puppets forcibly created by some kind of magic.

At this moment, the hoarse old man in the corner suddenly started coughing violently, bending over and almost coughing out his lungs.

The Bone Guards' gazes immediately locked onto him. The leader stepped forward, his metal boots thumping against the stone slabs. "Old man, have you seen this man?"

The old man waved his hands hurriedly, coughing so hard that he couldn't speak, but a very thin wisp of gray smoke floated out from between his fingers and landed at Luo Li's feet.

Luo Li's pupils shrank slightly. This was the ash of the faith grass, which was unique to the Western Wasteland. It was a warning.

Almost at the moment when the gray smoke fell to the ground, she sensed three hidden murderous intentions coming from the back kitchen of the tavern, the beam, and outside the door at the same time, and the target was exactly those bone guards!

"It's Blood Wolf's people!" someone whispered.

The hall was suddenly in chaos. Luo Li took advantage of the chaos and slid towards the kitchen like a ghost.

She could feel that the old man's breath was rapidly weakening. It was obvious that the warning just now had exhausted his last bit of strength.

Behind the broken window of the kitchen, a dark shadow was about to climb out, but was grabbed by Luo Li by the back of the neck.

"Tell me, where is Cangwu?" Her voice was very low, carrying the pressure of the power of chaos, penetrating the other person's soul.

The black shadow shuddered, a flash of fear in his eyes. "I don't know! I only heard that three days ago, someone saw him and Lord Emperor Shi at the bottom of the Black Wind Abyss!"

Luo Li's heart was shocked.

With Indra?

Then why did Indra issue a wanted order?

Before she could ask, the other person suddenly convulsed violently, with black blood oozing out of all his orifices. It turned out that someone had cast a death curse on him remotely.

Luo Li frowned and let go, and the corpse fell limply.

She climbed out of the kitchen, avoided the chaotic crowd, and rushed towards the Black Wind Abyss.

The closer you get to the Red Wind Gobi, the stronger the smell of blood in the air becomes.

The Black Wind Abyss is a huge rift valley that stretches for hundreds of miles. Dark green poisonous fog rolls at the bottom of the valley all year round, and even sunlight cannot penetrate it.

Luo Li restrained her breath and sneaked along the edge of the rift.

The rock walls on both sides of the rift were charred black and covered with sharp edges. The wind blew through the cracks in the rocks, making a whimpering sound.

Luo Li's gaze fell on a fresh claw mark on the rock wall. The mark was very deep, and there were dark red blood stains on the edge. It did not look like the work of a sand scorpion, but rather the claw mark of some large monster.

Her fingertips brushed across the bloodstains, and the power of chaos quietly penetrated, touching a faint but familiar breath, which was Cangwu's breath!

"It seems that he did encounter danger here." Luo Li's heart tightened and he quickened his pace.

When we reached the middle of the rift valley, a strong smell of blood mixed with the stench of decay hit us in the face.

There were faint black shadows swirling in the poisonous fog below. Upon closer inspection, they were actually the remains of dozens of Skeleton Guards. Their armor was shattered, and their bones were ground into powder by some force and scattered in the poisonous fog, even staining the surrounding sand with a dark black color.

And in the center of the wreckage, stood a slender figure.

The man in white clothes stained with blood and with messy hair sticking to his pale cheeks was Cangwu.

He half-knelt on the ground, supporting the broken sword with one hand and tightly covering his lower abdomen with the other hand. Blood was constantly flowing out from between his fingers, staining the black stone beneath him red.

His eyes were still sharp, staring intently at the depths of the poisonous fog ahead, as if he was on guard against something.

Luo Li was about to speak when she saw the poisonous fog suddenly surge up, and a figure with a similar aura to Cangwu but even more sinister slowly walked out.

The man was also wearing white clothes, and his face was exactly the same as Indra, except that there was a hint of sinisterness between his eyebrows.

He looked at Cangwu, a cruel smile on his lips: "Cangwu, do you think you can expose my identity with your current ability?"

"Fake is fake after all." Cangwu coughed up a mouthful of blood, his voice hoarse but cold, "You stole the identity of Emperor Shi, slaughtered his loyal subordinates, and even wanted to refine him into medicine. I will never let you succeed!"

"Success?" The fake Emperor Shi sneered, a dark aura swirling around him. "Wait until I drain your original spiritual energy, and then I'll give your body to the real Emperor Shi. Let him watch his friend become my puppet with his own eyes. Do you think he'll go crazy?"

"You are looking for death!" Cangwu took a deep breath and wanted to get up, but was hit in the chest by the black energy swung by the other party. He fell to the ground with a groan.

The fake Emperor Shi walked slowly towards him, greed glittering in his eyes. "Don't worry, once I've dealt with you, it will be Emperor Shi's turn. Once I completely replace him, this Western Wasteland, and even the entire Great Wasteland, will be mine."

Just as his hand was about to touch Cangwu, a gray shadow flashed by like lightning, and the power of chaos turned into a sharp blade and slashed directly at the back of the fake Emperor Shi.

"Who?" The fake Emperor Shi realized something was wrong and turned around to block. The two forces collided, and the poisonous mist surged violently.

He was shocked and took several steps back. He looked at Luo Li who suddenly appeared, with a flash of surprise in his eyes: "Body of Chaos? Who are you?"

Luo Li ignored him, quickly helped Cang Wu up, stuffed a healing pill into his mouth, and whispered, "Are you okay?"

Cangwu looked at the tightly wrapped man, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, "Who are you?"

Luo Li lowered her voice, "Don't worry about this now."

She stood up and looked at the fake Emperor Shi, her eyes as cold as ice: "You fake, are you worthy of calling yourself Emperor Shi?"

The fake Emperor Shi was startled by the murderous intent in her eyes, and then he was enraged by the undisguised murderous intent, his face becoming even more sinister. "You, a mere Chaos Body, dare to meddle in my affairs? It seems that I have to refine you as well today, making you a perfect pair of sacrifices."

Before he finished speaking, black energy suddenly surged from his body, transforming into countless twisted tentacles that coiled towards Luo Li like poisonous snakes.

These black gases carried a bone-corrosive poison, and wherever they passed, even the hard black stone was corroded into fine holes.

Luo Li protected Cangwu behind her, and the power of chaos condensed into a shield in her palm.

The moment the black air touched the Chaos Shield, it melted like ice and snow meeting fire, making a sizzling sound.

"Impossible!" The fake Emperor Shi exclaimed in shock. He had never seen a power that could dissolve his origin so easily.

Luo Li didn't give him time to be shocked. She moved quickly and was already close to him.

Xuan Yue was already in his hand at some point, the sword flowing with chaotic brilliance.

The fake Emperor Shi was forced to retreat again and again by her ghostly movements. The power he was proud of was defeated by the power of chaos, and even the condensed protective spirit shield was shattered into pieces by the sword wind.

"Who are you?!" He was shocked and angry, and fear appeared in his eyes for the first time.

Luo Li remained silent, but her moves became more and more fierce.

She could clearly sense the complex and sinister spiritual power in the other person's body. It was a pseudo-power condensed from plundering the essence of countless creatures. It was even mixed with some of Indra's true spiritual aura, which was obviously stolen using some forbidden technique.

"Cang Wu is right. Fake is fake after all." Luo Li's sword momentum suddenly changed. The power of chaos flowed along the sword spine, transforming into a brilliant arc of light. "You stole someone else's identity to commit evil. Today, I will destroy you both physically and spiritually!"

The arc of light cut through the poisonous fog and struck the fake Emperor Shiva in the face.

His pupils suddenly shrank, and he gathered all the black energy in his body into a giant shield, then turned around and tried to escape.

But it was too late.

The power of chaos easily tore through the huge black shield and cut through his neck like cutting tofu.

"No!"

The fake Indra's head rolled down, with an expression of disbelief and horror still frozen in his eyes.

His body twisted violently in the black air, but was completely purified by the chaotic power that followed.

The resentment and spiritual power that he plundered dissipated in the light, and in the end only a handful of charred ashes remained, which was swept away by the strong wind of the Black Wind Abyss, without even a trace left.

The poisonous fog gradually dissipated, revealing a clear sky.

Luo Li put away her sword, turned around, walked quickly to Cangwu, squatted down and checked his injuries.

The wound on his lower abdomen was so deep that the bone was visible, and his breath was as weak as a candle in the wind. It was obvious that he had exhausted his last bit of strength.

"Don't talk, I'll heal you first." She transformed the power of chaos into a gentle warm current, slowly injecting it into his body, protecting his life force that was about to collapse.

Cangwu looked at the mysterious man who was healing him and frowned slightly, "I have never seen you before. I wonder if you recognize me?"

Luo Li pursed her lips. He naturally didn't recognize her, and she didn't need Cangwu to recognize her.

She said in a cold voice: "I was just passing by and rescued him."

Afraid that Cangwu would ask again, she said, "From what he said just now, it seems that your friend has been imprisoned by him. Why don't you save him?"

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Cangwu stood up and saluted Luo Li, "Thank you for your reminder!"

Luo Li had no intention of speaking, so she just stood up and turned to leave.

Cangwu looked at Luo Li's back and suddenly asked loudly: "Will we meet again?"

Luo Li raised her hand and waved, "I will."

We will meet again on the day when you conquer the wilderness with one sword.

These words, like a seed, fell into Cangwu's heart.

Over the next ten years, the wilderness experienced tremendous changes.

Although the fake Emperor Sakyamuni was destroyed, the evil magic and hidden forces behind him spread like vines.

The various tribes in the Western Wilderness took advantage of the situation and attacked each other. The war spread from the Red Wind Gobi to the North Sea Ice Field, killing countless lives and destroying order.

Cangwu fought side by side with Emperor Shi, starting with the battle at Black Wind Abyss, and began to eliminate evil spirits and integrate forces.
