Chapter 869 We Are Friends

Chapter 869 We Are Friends

The three of them walked into the camp. The disciples of Eclipse Territory seemed to be as cold-hearted as Xuan Mu. They bowed to the three of them and then retreated to guard outside the camp.

The three of them walked to the center of the camp, the light and shadows around the campfire swaying, lengthening their figures.

Xuan Mu picked up a dead branch and gently fiddled with the flame. Sparks jumped, just like the light in his eyes, flashing with an inexplicable light.

Wen Xingyan stood aside, his fingers gently stroking the hilt of the sword at his waist, his eyes occasionally glancing at Luo Li, full of tenderness and smiles.

Luo Li sat between the two of them, the firelight shining on her cheeks, adding a touch of softness to her.

She moved her palm and threw two bottles of pills to each of them, "I can't leave you behind when Shi Yuan has some."

Xuan Mu caught the jade bottle lightly, a playful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. The medicine bottle rotated between his fingers, reflecting a dazzling light.

"Then I won't be polite." He wrinkled his nose.

"Thank you very much, A'li." Wen Xingyan accepted it with a gentle smile, a smile in his eyes, and gently put the medicine bottle into the space ring.

Seeing this, Luo Li curled her lips and suddenly asked, "Speaking of which, now that you've seen me again after all these years, don't you have anything to ask?"

Their attitude was as if they had never been apart from her. After all, they had only been together for a short time. How could their attitude towards her remain unchanged after so many years?

Xuan Mu's eyes flickered, and he jokingly said, "Oh? Then I won't be polite. Luo Li, what on earth have you done over the years to make your cultivation so rapid? It hasn't even been ten years on the Tianyuan Continent. Or did you encounter some kind of adventure, or receive guidance from some powerful being?"

As he spoke, he crossed his arms over his chest, his face full of curiosity and teasing, as if he was really expecting Luo Li to tell an earth-shattering story.

Wen Xingyan smiled silently, looking at Luo Li with a softer gaze. "We haven't seen you for only a few decades. Spiritual masters have long lives, but only friendship can remain in the heart forever. For us, the short time we spent with you left a deep impression on us."

Luo Li was helpless. "I did go to the Myriad Beasts Continent, and then came here from the Myriad Beasts Continent. The time flows at different speeds on the three continents. For me, only five short years have passed."

Xuan Mu pursed his lips slightly, and the next second he forced a smile, but because he didn't smile normally often, it looked a little stiff.

"I see. But it doesn't matter. Just treat us as your friends."

Luo Li glanced at him and said, "If you don't know how to laugh, then don't laugh."

She lowered her eyes. If she didn't consider them as friends, she wouldn't have given them those things when they left Tianyuan Continent.

Luo Li's gaze passed Xuan Mu and turned to the sky dyed orange by the setting sun. The afterglow sprinkled on her face, giving it a gentle golden edge.

Her voice drifted gently on the breeze, carrying a hint of imperceptible warmth: "Of course we are friends. No matter how far apart we are or how time passes, that friendship is like the afterglow of the sunset, warm and lasting."

As she spoke, she raised the corners of her mouth slightly, and her smile contained nostalgia for the past and expectations for the future. At that moment, it seemed as if even the air around her had become softer.

Xuan Mu's eyes flickered, and his expression softened completely. He snorted softly and said, "You are a little girl, but you still have a conscience and haven't forgotten us."

As soon as Xuan Mu finished speaking, Wen Xingyan chuckled, "Well, the world is so big, it makes me happy to see you again."

Luo Li also smiled, "Yes."

She looked into the distance, hoping that she and they would meet again one day.

When Xuan Mu saw Luo Li's gaze, he knew that she was worried. He pursed his lips and said nothing more. He just sat quietly beside her, fiddling with the campfire from time to time.

The night was as dark as ink, dotted with stars, and the bonfire danced around the three of them, reflecting their faces and adding a bit of warmth.

Luo Li's gaze passed over the jumping flames and fell on the distant sky, where her endless thoughts seemed to be hidden.

Xuan Mu sat silently beside him, his fingers inadvertently fiddling with the dry branches in the fire, making a slight crackling sound.

The firelight reflected in his deep eyes, flashing with imperceptible tenderness.

The three of them were very quiet, but late at night, the ground suddenly began to shake.

Luo Li frowned, "Did you feel it?"

The ground trembled more and more violently, as if a sleeping giant beast was groaning.

The light and shadow of the bonfire also swayed, and sparks flew everywhere, like the most gorgeous fireworks in the night sky.

Luo Li tightly gripped the hilt of the sword beside her, her eyes sharp as she scanned the surrounding scenery which was gradually becoming blurred due to the shaking.

Xuan Mu quickly stood up, protecting Luo Li behind him, his eyes sharp, "The time has actually been advanced."

The surrounding trees began to creak, as if they would collapse at any time, and in the night, an ancient and mysterious atmosphere quietly spread, making people feel chilled.

The people in the surrounding camps all came out and looked into the depths of the mountains.

The surrounding scenery seemed to be torn apart and distorted by an invisible force.

The giant tree fell down with a loud bang, raising dust and fallen leaves that covered half the sky.

Luo Li tapped the tip of her sword lightly on the ground, maintaining her balance. The firelight and the chaotic shadows of the trees reflected in her eyes, and she frowned slightly. "Strange, something seems a little off about this situation."

A faint aura surrounded Xuan Mu, resisting the increasingly strong vibrations. He whispered to Luo Li, "That demon beast is about to awaken to face the thunder tribulation. Don't be afraid, the vibrations will soon pass, and we will set off again then."

The other teams obviously thought the same thing. They did not panic, but just stared closely at the depths of the mountains.

Deep in the mountains, thunder was brewing in the distance, low and powerful. Every roar made the earth tremble, as if the whole world was resonating.

Luo Li's hair danced in the wind. She gripped the hilt of her sword tightly, her gaze piercing through the dust, gazing into the unknown depths. "It will take at least three days for this thunder tribulation to accumulate."

Xuan Mu nodded, "And it will take at least two days for us to get there."

With so many people, they definitely have to walk, which will take two or three days.

Luo Li was rather curious, "What kind of monster could it be?"

Wen Xingyan shook his head. "I don't know, but at least it's a pure-blooded monster. To find out what kind of monster it is, we have to wait until it wakes up."

Luo Li looked into the distance and said, "It's going to rain."

The wind before the rain was moist and cool, blowing across everyone's cheeks and making their clothes flutter.

In the team, the bonfires in the various tents were still swaying, reflecting the resolute faces, whose eyes showed different emotions.

Greed, determination, expectation...

All around, the roars of monsters occasionally sounded, but were quickly drowned out by thunder. Only the majestic force of nature was left between heaven and earth.
