Chapter 336 could be considered a childhood trauma for her.

Since coming to the Shen family, Shen Buyu's least favorite time of year has been the New Year.

Before this year, she was sensitive and insecure. She didn't believe that people loved her, and she didn't even dare to think about it.

I always live a very cautious life.

Every New Year, I try my best to be transparent about myself.

As long as you don't speak, you won't say the wrong thing.

If you don't say the wrong thing, you won't be disliked.

But this year is different.

She was no longer the timid, silent girl she once was.

She is a silent person who has many family members and much love!

"Mom, should I wear this red sweater or this red dress to stay up late on New Year's Eve?" Shen Buyu asked Lan Xinyan excitedly as she picked out a gift in the living room, carrying a dress in each hand.

Lan Xinyan smiled, looked up, and put down the tablet in her hand.

She carefully examined her daughter and compared the two outfits. "How about a sweater? Mommy has one just like yours, so we can wear matching outfits. As for the dress, you can wear it when you go out with Jingxu later."

She winked at her daughter, "Intellectual, elegant, and sexy."

With a blush, Shen Buyu put the clothes on the sofa and sat down next to Lan Xinyan. "Mom, what are you doing?"

“It’s almost Chinese New Year, and we need to prepare a gift for the old man. Since you’re being added to the family genealogy this year, I was thinking of giving him a generous gift.”

The image of that serious, easily angered old man appeared before Shen Buyu's eyes.

“I used to call him Grandpa Shen every year, but should I change it to Grandpa this year?” Shen Buyu asked softly, unsure of himself. “What if he doesn’t agree?”

"No, your grandfather is just grumpy, he wouldn't be that unreasonable." Shen Zhiye brought over two cups of brown sugar rice wine. "Here, one cup for each of you."

“Thank you, Dad,” Shen Buyu stood up, took the tray, and put it down, “but I’m still a little afraid of him.”

She had no recollection of ever seeing her grandfather smile.

And… she thought about it but didn’t say it.

Grandpa doesn't like her.

When she was little, she went with her brother to celebrate the Lunar New Year once and climbed trees to play in their grandfather's yard.

When I turned around, I saw an old man with a frown.

The next day, the trees in the yard were cut down...

Another summer, a girl who was about the same age as Shen's relatives gave her a beautiful tin box.

She put it on the stone table and went to the grass next to it to swat away ants.

When I returned, there was a cicada chirping happily inside.

She is terrified of insects.

Cicadas that can fly, can chirp, and are ugly are on her blacklist.

She was so frightened that she cried.

Her brother came over, asked what had happened, and took her hand to search for the mastermind behind it all.

After asking around, the housekeeper said that the old man had just gone for a stroll in the yard.

Her brother wanted to argue with her, but she stopped him.

These two events can be considered as traumatic events from her childhood.

After that, she rarely went to her grandfather's house.

Don't cause trouble for others, and don't make yourself uncomfortable.

It seems I have no choice but to show up this time. Although the old man isn't the clan leader, he's still my father's biological father, so I'll have to get his permission.

“Don’t be afraid, your older brother will be with you,” Shen Yanzhou and Song Jingyi came downstairs. “Grandpa is just not good with words.”

“What do you mean he’s not good with words? That old man is just old and looking for trouble,” Shen Yunqi, holding an ice cream, disagreed with this statement. “But don’t be afraid, your brother learned a few moves from A-Cheng and will definitely be able to protect you.”

"You little brat!" Shen Zhiye glared at him. "That's your own grandfather, and you want to fight him?"

Shen Yunqi choked, "Hey, sigh, how could that be? I was talking about other people, those troublesome relatives and such."

Shen Buyu was amused. "Exactly, what's there to be afraid of?"

Her family is protecting her, so even if her grandfather is unhappy, nothing will happen... right?

“Jingyi, come here,” Lan Xinyan beckoned him over. “Do your friends have somewhere to go for the New Year? If not, invite them over for New Year’s Eve dinner.”

“Aunt Lan,” Song Jingyi said, “there’s something I haven’t had a chance to tell you yet.”

"What?"

"I bought the building next door, and I can already move in."

He bought this building so he could be closer to his sister.

"Oh, you bought it?" Lan Xinyan suddenly realized. "So you're moving it?"

"Brother, you can't move." Shen Buyu put down his ice cream, his eyes pleading. "It's the New Year."

Shen Zhiye: "Yes, Jingyi, the house is big, so you can stay here. It's just a matter of adding a pair of chopsticks. It'll be more lively with more people."

"Jingyi, are you not used to living at home?" Shen Yanzhou frowned slightly.

"Don't move it, Jingyi-ge! You said you'd teach me martial arts!" Shen Yunqi added.

His words prompted his entire family to try and persuade him to stay.

A warm feeling welled up in Song Jingyi's heart.

“I’m not moving now. I want to spend the New Year with Xiaoyu,” he said. “After the New Year, I will continue to be busy with business. My schedule will be unstable then, so I will move back.”

Moreover, none of the people he had there seemed to be good people; it was absurd for them to keep running over here to report on their work every day.

"It's just that I moved next door. I come over whenever I have free time, and I often come to eat. It's no different from now."

Lan Xinyan wanted to say something, but Shen Zhiye nudged her hand and said, "Jingyi is a grown man now."

Lan Xinyan understood.

If you're in a relationship and want to bring your girlfriend home, it's inconvenient to come here.

"It's settled then. You have to come over whenever you eat at home. We'll reserve a place for you here, so you can stay whichever you prefer."

“Okay, Aunt Lan,” Song Jingyi smiled and looked at the not-so-happy Shen Buyu, “Xiaoyu, do you want to come to my place? I’ve saved a room for you.”

Shen Buyu's eyes lit up.

The whole family was together. They turned right after leaving the house and arrived at their destination.

“This distance isn’t unacceptable.” Shen Buyu nodded. “I was wondering why they were working overtime to renovate here the other day; it turns out you bought it.”

“I’ve never been to this house before. I remember the owner is an overseas Chinese. Someone wanted to buy his house before, but he refused to sell. Now he’s changed his mind.”

Song Jingyi coughed lightly, "Aunt Lan, Uncle Chen, this way please."

Lan Xinyan lowered her head and chuckled softly. How wonderful, Jing Yi is starting to become more fun too.

"Do you live here alone, or do all your friends live here?"

“Only Acheng and Chen Mo are here,” Song Jingyi answered truthfully. “They have no home or relatives, so they live with me.”

“Then let the two of them come over for dinner on New Year’s Eve,” Lan Xinyan thought about this. “It’s the New Year, it’s just a matter of having two more sets of chopsticks and bowls, so they won’t be all alone.”

"Okay. I understand, Aunt Lan."

Its size and overall layout are similar to those of the Shen family.

The interior design leans towards a pastoral style, which doesn't quite match Song Jingyi's image.

It's more like a manor house from a French film.

"It's so beautiful!" Shen Buyu immediately took out his phone. "It's so gorgeous!"

Song Jingyi was relieved.

His sister likes it here.
