Chapter 387 You've got a good temper, haven't you?

Chapter 387 You've got a good temper, haven't you?

On the day they went to the translation department, a French professor who was a specialist in French personally drove them there.

The professor, who was in his fifties, earnestly advised them on the way: "This opportunity is truly rare. We have communicated with them many times but were rejected each time. This year, we finally managed to apply for two spots."

You certainly won't get involved in serious diplomatic work there.

However, experiencing the rigorous training and seeing how hard the veterans worked can be very beneficial for children.

"Professor Xu, we understand," Shen Buyu replied.

Zhang Luo, an English major, took a deep breath and said, "I'm a little nervous."

"Don't be nervous," Professor Xu said. "You won't be seeing any grand events; you're mainly here to learn. Besides, the person leading you this time is one of my prized students, your senior. You're all on the same side, so there's nothing to be afraid of."

When Shen Buyu saw Huo Qingci, his temples twitched twice.

It remains to be seen whether Director Huo will take this opportunity to settle personal scores.

After all, she knocked on Huo Chen's door with great effort back then.

She stood obediently next to the professor, listening to Professor Xu praise her highly.

“Chen Buyu, my prized student, is number one in everything except sports. His grades are not much worse than yours back then. You’d better mentor him well.”

Despite being Huo Qingci's deputy director, Professor Xu treated him like an elder, as Huo was his student.

Huo Qingci's gaze lingered on Shen Buyu's face for two seconds before she nodded slightly. "Teacher, don't worry, I will take good care of my juniors."

"You can decide how to arrange things for the children over a month. Let me make this clear first: they're here to learn, so don't make our kids do odd jobs. The school can handle things like running errands and delivering documents; I don't need to go to all that trouble to have them do it."

Huo Qingci smiled slightly. "Teacher, I know."

Professor Xu nodded, then glanced at Chen Buyu and said, "Come with me for a moment, I have a few words to say to you."

Chen Buyu followed the teacher to the side.

Professor Xu frowned, thinking for a while. "Buyu, I've heard about your family's financial situation. I understand that luxury cars are actually quite common for your family. But child, try to keep a low profile for the next month. See if you have a cheaper car at home. If not, we can take a taxi here every day. It's not appropriate to drive such a nice car here."

It's a public institution, after all. If they drive luxury cars, uninformed people will think someone has accepted bribes, which will have a bad influence on the unit's leaders.

Shen Buyu understood. "Professor, I understand. I'll change cars when I get back today."

Professor Xu nodded and whispered, "If you need anything here, just look for Huo Qingci. Don't let his position as deputy director fool you; he always comes to my house for braised pork. Use him if you need to."

"Thank you, Professor," Shen Buyu said sincerely.

As Zhou Ze said, once you enter society, there are very few people who are so genuinely good to you, besides your family.

Professor Xu has passed away.

Huo Qingci said to the two girls, "I have an outing today and can't take you with me. I've already spoken to the people in my department, and I'll take you there now."

Huo Qingci was serious and his businesslike demeanor relieved Shen Buyu.

The busy man probably doesn't remember that he and Qin Nianke beat up his nephew together.

That would be excellent.

"Fang Qi, this English major will be working with you for the next month." Huo Qingci didn't waste any words and introduced Zhang Luo to a smiling woman in the office.

"Okay, don't worry, Deputy Director. I love mentoring new people. You go ahead and get busy." Fang Qi introduced Zhang Luo to her, taking her hand familiarly.

Huo Qingci then led Shen Buyu to another desk. "Jiang Li, this is the French major. You take her under your wing."

Jiang Li, who was engrossed in typing, glanced up, nodded expressionlessly, and then went back to her work.

Huo Qingci also left.

Shen Buyu stood beside Jiang Li's workstation like an unattended child, unsure of what to do.

On the other hand, Zhang Luo and Fang Qi have already become familiar with each other, and the two have started sharing skincare products.

Instead of getting bogged down in internal conflicts, she calmly considered what kind of car would be suitable for her given her status.

"What are you standing there for?" Jiang Li remembered her after finishing her work, turned around, and saw the child pressed against the wall as if being punished. "Isn't there a chair over there?"

He smiled silently and said nothing.

If you sit in someone else's chair and they get upset, that'll cause trouble.

“I brought that chair for you, but no one is sitting on it,” Jiang Li said coldly, frowning. “Standing there makes it seem like I’m bullying you.”

"No." Shen Buyu sat down. "Hello, my name is Shen Buyu. Are you finished with your work? What do I need to do today?"

Jiang Li glanced at her sideways and said, "You have a good temper. My name is Jiang Li. Look at the time, I'll be listening to the radio at eleven o'clock sharp."

Shen Buyu glanced at his phone; there were still ten minutes left.

“Come tomorrow and bring your own notebook and pen. No one will hand them out here,” Jiang Li clearly didn’t like mentoring newcomers. “After listening to the broadcast, take notes yourself. Of course, it’s your own responsibility. I’m not a teacher and I’m not responsible for checking.”

"Okay." Shen Buyu thought of what Zhou Ze had said: if someone is cold to you, you don't need to put on a smiling face.

She replied to Jiang Li with a calm expression.

One was working, the other was studying.

As long as it's acceptable on the surface, right?

She doesn't like chatting, so if she were really assigned to Fang Qi, she would feel awkward.

They've started talking about food over there.

She got hungry just talking about it.

Ten minutes later, Jiang Li handed her an earphone.

She took out her notebook and pen from her bag, ready to take notes at any time.

A live radio station broadcast entirely in French.

She could understand the gist of what was being said, and she was completely focused, doing her best to take notes.

Even so, many technical terms were still omitted.

It took two whole hours, and Shen Buyu's back ached before it finally ended.

Jiang Li had it much easier than her; she didn't neglect her work while listening to the radio.

I don't know if she listened or if she was deliberately making things difficult for herself.

As Shen Buyu flipped through his notes, a beautiful hand suddenly reached out from beside him.

"Here, here, I misremembered those two words. Today's content is a review of the development of nuclear power, wind power, and solar power in France."

Shen Buyu blushed and quickly marked it.

Jiang Li glanced at her records a few more times.

"Hey, Jiang Li, haven't you eaten yet? Even if you don't eat, your classmate has to." Fang Qi brought Zhang Luo back from dinner and also bought her a small cake.

"I'll go right away." Jiang Li replied with the same indifferent attitude.

She stood up. "Come with me."

The cafeteria always has food, but it's not as plentiful as it is during peak meal times.

"Go get whatever you want to eat, just swipe my card." Jiang Li got a simple meal and handed her meal card to Chen Buyu.

Shen Buyu immediately ordered the same dish as her and sat down.

Jiang Li didn't say anything.

"Come listen to the radio and news on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11:00 AM, and Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00 AM sharp."
