Chapter 401 My dear brother-in-law, you're so funny!

Chapter 401 My dear brother-in-law, you're so funny!

“Fifty million,” a sinister glint flashed in Song Jingyi’s eyes, “US dollars.”

Shen Yanzhou frowned. Four hundred million. "What a huge appetite."

“It’s just an excuse to refuse,” Song Jingyi reached for a cigarette, then withdrew his hand. “Don’t tell Xiaoyu.”

“My dad has some connections with him. I’ll ask around later. Maybe it won’t be that difficult.”

"No need to trouble Uncle Chen."

“Jingyi, let’s not talk about these things as family. You’re new to Beijing, so you need someone to show you the way.” Shen Yanzhou was as gentle as ever.

Song Jingyi was not unaware of these things.

If you let him do it, he has plenty of ways to do it.

But all he wanted was to stay by his sister's side cleanly and without any trouble.

In the yard, "Acheng, how are you going to feed the fish if you don't bring them fish food?"

He walked past with a silent smile.

Acheng glanced at her, opened his mouth, then turned away with a pitiful look on his face.

"You got scolded?" Shen Buyu turned around again. "You get scolded all the time, why can't you take it this time? Did my brother hit you?"

“No, it’s alright that the boss hit me, it’s just that,” A-Cheng scratched his head and finally made up his mind, “The boss asked someone to do something, but that person didn’t agree. I said I would go and kidnap his son, but the boss wouldn’t let me do it.”

Ah Cheng was so frustrated.

Shen Buyu and Shen Yunqi were both stunned.

“Ah, Cheng,” Shen Buyu recovered his senses, “that thing you just mentioned, enough to go in three times, will you go or will my brother go?”

Acheng was even more unhappy. "What kind of nonsense is this? I've never been treated like this before."

"Alright, alright, my brother's business is legitimate. Just calm down and don't cause trouble. I'll be heartbroken no matter which of you ends up in jail. Let's go eat."

After thinking about it, Acheng realized that made sense.

The young lady wouldn't even run a red light, so these kinds of things were definitely red lines she couldn't cross.

He suddenly understood why the boss had stopped him earlier.

If you want to stay with a lady properly, you have to abide by the laws of this land.

Acheng felt relieved.

"Can I have braised pork?" Acheng grabbed the fish food from Shen Buyu's hand and poured it into the pond. "I also want to eat ice cream."

Shen Yunqi chuckled, "How old are you anyway? You're acting like a child."

"Yunqi, come practice your boxing tomorrow," Acheng said with a smile.

After appeasing Acheng, the late-night snack became much more lively.

After dinner, Shen Buyu told her two older brothers to go home, as she wanted to stay there.

After seeing the two brothers off, Song Jingyi patted his little sister's head and said, "Acheng was too talkative."

“He didn’t say anything,” Shen Buyu poured two glasses of water over. “Brother, I just feel that you’ve done too much for me, and I’m afraid you’re working too hard.”

Acheng was raised by his brother, so their styles of doing things are probably quite similar.

So, I bet my brother must feel really frustrated too.

“This is nothing,” Song Jingyi said softly. “No matter what kind of environment you are in, you have to follow the rules and rules of that environment. I like challenges and I like to play by the rules.”

“Brother.” Shen Buyu looked at him with bright eyes.

"Um?"

"You're so handsome!" Shen Buyu rested her chin on her hands, looking at him with admiration. "If I had your perseverance and courage, I would have achieved great things long ago."

His sister's praise was the best gift Song Jingyi had ever received: "You're much better than me."

The brother and sister chatted in the yard for a long time, and Shen Buyu kept pestering him to tell the story of Mu Zi and A Cheng.

Song Jingyi obediently did as instructed.

Until his sister fell asleep sweetly on the table.

Song Jingyi smiled silently, picked her up, and steadily walked towards the little princess's room.

I gently placed my younger sister on the bed, took off her shoes, covered her with a blanket, turned off the bedroom light, and then slowly walked out.

This was the first time she had stayed overnight here.

Song Jingyi suddenly felt that the cold, lifeless house had gained warmth at that moment.

He poured himself a glass of wine, then remembered something, took out his phone, and called Si Jingxu.

"Jingyi, what's going on so late?" Si Jingxu finished speaking, then realized what was happening. "Buyu is with you."

"Yes, she fell asleep while listening to a story," Song Jingyi said with a smile. "I was the one who hung up the phone when you called her."

"Let her sleep," Si Jingxu called to him. "Jingyi, want to have a couple of drinks?"

"My sister is at home and won't be going out."

“I said I’d come to see you,” Si Jingxu paused, “not to see Buyu, but to talk to you in person about something.”

Song Jingyi's brow twitched; he had a bad feeling.

Half an hour later, Si Jingxu arrived with several bottles of wine.

"Sit down," Song Jingyi said, having changed into a white and dark-colored loungewear set. He sat on the sofa and stared at Si Jingxu. "What is it?"

"Have a couple of drinks first." Young Master Si wasn't in a hurry and personally poured two glasses of wine. "Here you go."

The two men clinked glasses and drank the strong liquor in one gulp.

Three cups in a row.

Song Jingyi was no longer in a hurry. "Let's continue drinking, Jingxu."

Si Jingxu put down his cup and smiled. "Jingyi, there's something I want to tell you."

Song Jingyi hummed in agreement, waiting for him to continue.

“Buyu is graduating soon,” Si Jingxu said. “I want to propose to her and I’d like to ask for your opinion.”

Song Jingyi's smile faded, and he sneered, "Why are you asking for my opinion?"

“You’re her brother, she cares about your feelings. If either of you disagrees, she will refuse me.” Si Jingxu said very seriously. “After the proposal, we’ll only get engaged. We’ll talk about marriage after she graduates from her master’s program. I respect her decision.”

"Wouldn't it be better to wait until she graduates with her master's degree before proposing?"

“I can’t wait,” Si Jingxu said frankly. “I want to get to know her better, even if it’s just in terms of how we address each other.”

Song Jingyi lowered his eyes and stroked the rim of the cup.

After a long pause, he asked, "You just said 'you guys,' who else did you ask about?"

"Aunt Lan and Yanzhou don't object." Si Jingxu poured himself another glass of wine. "What do you say?"

"Me?" Song Jingyi lifted his eyelids to look at him. "Let's drink first and then talk."

Si Jingxu brought six bottles of strong liquor, which he drank all of.

Song Jingyi then brought out a few more bottles from his own wine cabinet.

No one knows exactly how much they drank.

The two of them closed their eyes and propped their heads up with one hand.

“Jingyi, you have to agree. She cares about you too much. She just doesn’t say it, but I know it.” Si Jingxu paused for a moment before speaking.

“Of course my sister cares about me,” Song Jingyi said, his voice sounding tired. “Are you sure Xiaoyu will agree to your request?”

“Yes, she likes me,” Si Jingxu said confidently. “She likes me, her brother-in-law.”

Song Jingyi opened his eyes. "Sleep here tonight."

Si Jingxu stood up unsteadily. "Which room is Buyu in?"

"What's it to you?" Song Jingyi offered a helping hand.

"I want to be closer to her, can I sleep in the room next to hers, my dear brother-in-law?"

“My room is next to hers. If you don’t mind sleeping on the floor, then come on over.” Song Jingyi took a few steps. “If my sister rejects you, don’t try to extort money from me.”

"That's impossible. You're so funny, brother-in-law."

Song Jingyi ignored him, and he was also a little dizzy from drinking too much.

The next day, Shen Buyu stared at the empty wine bottles scattered on the living room floor and fell silent.

My house has been burgled.
