Chapter 432 Son-in-Law
The wedding car circled around the road before slowly driving into the Si family villa.
Si Chengli and Ling Huiwen waited anxiously at the gate.
"Uncle, Aunt, who are you two? How can you wait for the bride at the door? You need to go inside and give the bride a hard time." The clueless relatives swarmed around trying to curry favor.
Ling Huiwen became more vigilant. "Whose family are you? Let me tell you, don't cause trouble when my daughter-in-law comes. I don't want to fall out with you on such a joyous occasion."
The relative left dejectedly.
The second relative came to Si Chengli's side again, "Brother, what are you doing? What is your status? Go inside and wait, or the bride will be so arrogant when she sees you."
"Do you think my daughter-in-law is as good as you? You're so sycophantic and backstabbing. Go away, the wedding car is here. Move to the back. Just looking at you makes me angry." Si Chengli couldn't understand how anyone could be so blind.
It's true that fools always emerge at crucial moments.
The couple instructed those around them to keep a close eye on the few who had been so careless earlier, so that they wouldn't let a single bad apple spoil the whole bunch.
"Honey, the convoy is back." Si Chengli immediately straightened his clothes. "How am I? Is everything alright?"
Ling Huiwen didn't even look at him, "Good, good, oh my, my daughter-in-law looks so beautiful today!"
Si Chengli immediately craned his neck to look.
There were no pranks to make things difficult for the new bride as expected, and no one gossiped or complained.
Her parents-in-law stood at the entrance of the villa, looking at her with beaming smiles.
Shen Buyu held Si Jingxu's hand and gradually relaxed.
Their family has always been very kind.
They hadn't changed their way of addressing him yet, and Chen Buyu didn't know how to address him.
Ling Huiwen held her other hand and spoke first, "Call me later, let's go inside first. My darling, you look so beautiful today."
In the hall, Si Zhendong, dressed in the same Tang suit as Grandpa Shen, waited for his granddaughter-in-law with a ruddy complexion.
Shen Buyu slowly walked over and found that there was no kneeling cushion on the ground in front of him.
"No need to kneel, a bow is fine. Your clothes make it inconvenient." Si Jingxu held her arm. "You never need to kneel."
Shen Buyu picked up the teacup beside him and said respectfully, "Grandpa, please have some tea."
"Good, good, good boy, Grandpa will have some tea." Si Zhendong was overjoyed; he finally had the chance to hold his great-grandson.
The same applies when parents serve tea.
Shen Buyu stood there and said, "Dad, please have some tea."
Si Chengli took the teacup and took a big gulp. "Good child, from now on we're family. If anyone bullies you, tell your father, and he'll stand up for you."
Shen Buyu received a large red envelope.
She then looked at Ling Huiwen and said, "Mom, please have some tea."
Ling Huiwen took a sip of tea, her eyes welling up with tears. "My little darling, you're finally my daughter-in-law. My goodness, from now on you'll be the treasure of the Si family."
"She's my darling." Seeing the ceremony was over, Si Jingxu quickly stepped forward, put his arm around her waist, and asked, "Shall we go back to the room and take a look?"
In Si Jingxu's room, Shen Buyu sat on the bed, with only her bridesmaid beside her. She let out a long sigh.
"Is it over?" she asked.
Qin Nianke chuckled, "This is just for the family; the real thing is yet to come."
Shen Buyu waved his hand, "There's nothing else. Let's exchange rings and start the feast."
"How could that be?" Qin Nian didn't believe it. "Don't you have to get emotional, have a few tears, and then reminisce about your love story?"
“I have social anxiety, and I didn’t want to cry in front of so many people. Your cousin removed all of that,” Shen Buyu said again. “He said that we should know our love story ourselves.”
"Oh my!" Qin Nianke grinned, her teeth aching.
"Miss, lie down if you're tired. We'll set off in half an hour," Mu Zi said, glancing at the time.
"I'm not lying down anymore, that's not right." Shen Buyu straightened up; her back and waist were really sore today.
There are too many relatives and friends of the Si family today, and she absolutely cannot let the Shen family lose face in the slightest.
Si Jingxu spent some time socializing downstairs, leaving the mess to his parents, and then went to find his wife during his break.
Mu Zi opened the door. "Young Master."
"Hmm." Si Jingxu quite liked this form of address.
He carried some food in his hand and walked over to his wife, who was sitting properly on the edge of the bed.
"Why are you here?" Shen Buyu glanced outside before Mu Zi closed the door, thankfully no one else was there.
"Are you hungry? I brought you some food." Si Jingxu placed the tray on the small table. "Come and eat. Qin Nianke, Mu Zi, you two come too."
Chen Buyu was indeed hungry.
After serving tea to her parents, she felt much more relaxed.
People get hungry as soon as they relax.
“You’ve come at just the right time,” she said, getting up and heading straight for the small dishes on the table. “Nianke, Muzi, come on.”
The three of them each took a piece of pastry and started eating.
Si Jingxu sat next to her, his eyes glued to her, as if he couldn't get enough of looking at her.
Qin Nianke silently ate her snack, but suddenly found herself unable to swallow.
I'm happy and envious at the same time.
Her cousin was incredibly devoted to Buyu, and she liked his clingy nature.
If only Huo Qingci could be like her cousin.
Thinking of this, she suddenly came to her senses, shook her head, and wondered what Huo Qingci was doing.
They're going to get divorced in less than a year.
Amitabha Buddha, I have sinned.
After resting for a while, the young couple took the same car to the hotel.
With no one watching, Si Jingxu's hands became increasingly unrestrained, sometimes putting his arm around her waist, sometimes touching her face.
"Don't move around, or your makeup will be ruined." Shen Buyu repeatedly pushed his hands away.
"Call me 'husband' so I can hear it." Si Jingxu leaned down and whispered in her ear.
"It's not time yet." Shen Buyu was too shy to say those two words.
"It's not the right time yet?" Si Jingxu laughed in exasperation, counting on his fingers. "We've already got the marriage certificate, we even served tea to our parents today, and we've received the bride price. You still say it's not the right time?"
"We haven't exchanged rings yet." Shen Buyu turned her head to look out of the car, her earlobes red and hot.
“Oh,” Si Jingxu drawled, “you can call me after exchanging rings, right? Okay.”
After saying that, he fell silent.
I'm really looking forward to getting to the wedding venue.
Si Jingxu smiled slightly.
People need something to look forward to in order for life to be meaningful.
The wedding was bustling with people; both Si and Shen's businesses, their respective partners, and political friends—everyone who could come was there.
The venue was luxuriously decorated, with pink as the main color and red and white as accents, creating a romantic sea of flowers.
The emcee enlivened the atmosphere, and celebrities sang songs to offer their blessings.
There were no tear-jerking moments, no need for heartfelt confessions, and even the step of the bride's father seeing her off at the wedding was omitted.
The newlyweds only held hands as they went on stage to exchange rings.
Jinbao's skin was smooth and glossy, with a pink bow around her neck and a small basket in her mouth containing a pair of wedding rings.
In its eyes, there is only its mother.
