Chapter 440 I don't care, I want to go home
After returning home for a two-day stay, Chen Buyu followed Si Jingxu to the Si family home for another meal.
Only then were all the wedding rituals complete for them.
So, on a dark and stormy night, when you couldn't see your hand in front of your face...
The young couple embarked on their honeymoon.
Our first stop: to see the aurora borealis.
At midnight, when the sky was darkest, Shen Buyu, dressed in heavy clothing, was held tightly in Si Jingxu's arms.
They looked up at the sky, experiencing together the ever-changing, dreamlike world of the aurora borealis.
There was no noisy crowd, only a few occasional exclamations.
In the quiet night, the two offered each other warmth.
Shen Buyu suddenly sighed, "Brother Jingxu, you said that a couple should be like us now. No matter how cold the outside environment is, as long as we are of one mind and hold each other together, we will never be harmed by the cold wind."
“Yes, you’re right. Bu Yu, we will be husband and wife forever.” Si Jingxu rarely didn’t joke. His voice was deep as he vowed under the aurora, “In this life, I will put you first in everything. I love you and only love you.”
"I love you too."
After seeing the aurora borealis, the two chartered a cruise ship to go whale watching.
This isn't their first time here; the last time they came was for team building.
Back then, Si Jingxu even had difficulty taking a photo with his fiancée alone.
Now, on this enormous cruise ship, the only people in the viewing area are the two of them.
"Brother Jingxu, are you saying this whale is the same one we saw last time?"
“I hope so,” Si Jingxu whispered in her ear, “that it will also witness our happiness and scatter dog food into the sea.”
Shen Buyu: "..." He couldn't stay serious for more than two days.
Si Jingxu personally planned their honeymoon itinerary, which was relaxed, romantic, and leisurely.
His wife doesn't like mountain climbing, swimming, or strenuous exercise.
She enjoys quietly admiring the scenery and taking leisurely walks.
My favorite thing is to find a quiet, scenic spot with few people, set up a deck chair, do nothing, and just stay there quietly.
They saw the aurora borealis, chased whales, kissed under the first snowfall, watched a movie together in a hot spring, went to an amusement park, and also daydreamed at the beach...
We had a truly relaxing honeymoon.
Their relatives and friends simply liked and saved the photos they shared, and no one really wanted to bother them.
As the story drew to a close, their final stop was Suzhou.
In winter, Suzhou was damp after a rain, but it had a hazy, dreamlike beauty.
In Si Jingxu's main courtyard, there was a whole yard full of red roses.
They left only a narrow path for them to walk on.
"It's so beautiful, but with this temperature, it probably won't last more than a few days." Shen Buyu bent down and reached out to touch one of the flowers.
“It’ll be fine for three to five days, then we’ll go home,” Si Jingxu said, his hands in his coat pockets, a smile playing on his lips as he looked at her. “You’re much prettier than any flower.”
"Tell me something I don't know." Having spent a lot of time with him, Shen Buyu had become thick-skinned.
There's really no way around it; I'm always too thin-skinned and easily bullied.
“You don’t know?” Si Jingxu frowned mysteriously, then spread his hands. “I’m afraid not. I have no secrets from my wife.”
"You're so glib," Shen Buyu said to him. "Let's go see Grandpa and Grandma tomorrow."
Although her maternal grandparents never raised her, she still remembers the gentle woman in her dream and the candy she was given.
Shen Buyu firmly believes that if her grandmother were still alive, she would love her very, very much.
"Okay, let's rest first." Si Jing said, his hands starting to wander again. "Honey, I have a double bathtub here, it's big and comfortable, do you want to try it today?"
"You just say you don't want it?" Shen Buyu looked at him helplessly. Every time she said no, he still had a way of coaxing her into wanting it.
When Si Jingxu saw that his wife was angry, he said, "Let's eat, let's eat first, wife."
The last few days of the holiday seem to fly by.
Before Shen Buyu had had enough rest, he started receiving work reminders from Huo Qingci.
"This old man can't even live a good life himself, yet he still disgusts others right on time." Si Jingxu, wearing a bathrobe that revealed his muscular chest and abs, walked back and forth beside Shen Buyu.
"Go wait over there for a while, you're making me dizzy," Shen Buyu said irritably while working. "I have an important meeting to work as the assistant translator the day after tomorrow, so let me familiarize myself with the content of the speech first."
Two hours later, Shen Buyu had almost finished memorizing it. He turned around after shutting down his computer and found that the space behind him was now filled with dark clouds.
Young Master Si, her husband, sat on the bed with a mournful expression, with half a bottle of red wine beside him.
"Oh, Brother Jingxu, you've been drinking! What are you drinking? Red wine? Is it good?" Shen Buyu saw that something was wrong and quickly went over to coax him.
"Now that the future Director Shen is done with his work, I hope I haven't been a burden to you as your family member. It would be a sin to affect your promotion. It's alright, you can go back to work for a while. I still have half a bottle of wine left."
“Oh, okay,” Shen Buyu replied readily. “Then I’ll go check with Huo Qingci again. Anyway, he’s an old man living alone, he has plenty of time.”
"Shen Buyu!" Si Jingxu flipped over and pinned her down. "You really dare to say that."
"What can I do? My husband is angry, and it's already affecting the harmony of our family. I have to take care of my work, at least keep one of these things." Shen Buyu looked aggrieved.
"You—" Si Jingxu saw the smile in her eyes and suddenly laughed, realizing that he had actually been led by the nose by her.
He pressed her down, straightened up, picked up the wine glass, and took a big gulp.
Then he bent down and, to her surprise, fed her the whole thing.
Chen Buyu swallowed too slowly, and the wine-red liquid slid down the corner of his mouth.
Si Jingxu's throat tightened, and he kissed her.
His lips touched hers. "Wife, drinking like this is quite romantic, isn't it?"
"Hmm." Shen Buyu realized that he had led her astray.
She seemed to like it quite a bit just now.
The young couple had just returned to Beijing after their honeymoon and had just gotten off the plane when Chen Buyu wanted to go back to her parents' home.
“I don’t care, I want to go home.” She sat in the car, unhappy. “I miss my mom, I miss my dad, I miss my brothers, I want to go home.”
Even after a month away, Si Jingxu still didn't get enough time with her.
But... judging by the dates, my wife is about to have her period, and she's been at her most irritable lately.
He dared not provoke them, nor could he bear to.
“Yes, yes, of course I’ll go. We’re married now, and they’re my parents too. I’ll go with you. Mom said it’s just a matter of adding a couple more chopsticks.”
Chen Buyu felt comfortable. He woke up in his bed at home and felt energetic enough to work like a beast of burden.
Her good mood vanished completely the next day when she saw her boss, Huo Qingci.
Huo Qingci, that taciturn old man, actually had a clear hickey on his neck, and upon closer inspection, there were even teeth marks.
This wasn't what she saw; it was discovered and spread by her colleagues.
Shen Buyu's anger flared up instantly.
He clearly agreed with Qin Nianke that they should maintain a respectable appearance during their marriage, so why is he bringing evidence to work now?
Bullying her best friend is unacceptable.
Shen Buyu excused himself to go to the restroom and called Qin Nianke.
It took a while to answer.
"Nianke, let me tell you, there's something going on with that old man, Huo Qingci."
Qin Nianke's voice was hoarse and her reaction was slow. After a long while, she finally managed to say, "Huh?"
Chen Buyu remained silent.
