Chapter 499 Song Jingyi's Side Story (19)
When Ling Huiwen received the call, she was in Italy, accompanying Meng Qingzhi to relax.
"Tingyu, don't panic. Auntie isn't in Beijing right now. I'll call Uncle Si and Jingxu. You stay at the hospital and take good care of Grandma until they come to find you. Child, remember, don't be afraid."
"Thank you, Auntie."
Song Tingyu's voice was soft.
Ling Huiwen burst into tears immediately.
Such a small child, having to face all this.
"Huiwen, what's wrong? Did something happen at home?" Meng Qingzhi asked, tilting her head as she was arranging flowers.
Ling Huiwen suddenly felt like scolding her, but she didn't have the time.
She was busy finding someone for her child.
Not long after Song Tingyu hung up the phone, Si Jingxu called back.
"Tingyu, Grandma's condition isn't suitable for flying right now. We've made arrangements with the high-speed rail station. You should take the next high-speed train. A doctor and nurse will accompany you on the train later." Si Jingxu spoke at a moderate pace, explaining everything clearly.
His deep voice reassured Song Tingyu. Song Tingyu said in a hoarse voice, "Grandma has a heart problem. The doctor said my brother is looking for a specialist in Germany for her, but I can't get in touch with him now. I don't know if he has found one yet."
"I understand. Don't worry about the rest. Just focus on taking care of Grandma," Si Jingxu paused for two seconds, not daring to say too many comforting words, afraid that she would burst into tears. "It's okay."
"Yes, it's okay," Song Tingyu said.
Grandma will definitely be alright.
Because she is the best grandmother in the world.
Si Jingxu made the arrangements quickly; not long after he hung up the phone, several department heads rushed over.
Traffic police were clearing the way downstairs, and the journey to the high-speed rail station was smooth.
With the doctors and nurses in charge, Song Tingyu didn't need to worry about professional issues; she could simply quietly look after her grandmother.
She sat on the ground and pressed her face against her grandmother's hand.
These are the hands that held her in their arms and guided her as she grew up.
In her memory, her grandmother's hands were always warm.
But now, it's not so warm anymore.
"Miss, the ground is cold." Mu Zi felt heartbroken seeing her like that, but she also knew that Yi Ge was in a difficult situation.
Disturbing him abruptly might distract Yi-ge, and I'm afraid...
"It's okay, Mu Zi, let me sit here. I'm worried Grandma will be scared." After she finished speaking, she rubbed her cheek against Grandma's hand.
The journey of four or five hours was truly arduous.
As the train pulled into the station, Song Tingyu took a deep breath and perked up.
With her brother away, she was the head of the household.
She is responsible for taking care of her grandmother.
You can't cry, you can't be weak.
The Beijing authorities arranged for medical staff to hand over the duties early on.
As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Si Jingxu standing on the far side.
Her eyes stung, and she gritted her teeth, forcing back the tears.
"Listen to me." Si Jingxu came over, wanting to pull her into his arms, but then felt it was too abrupt. He took her hand and held it tightly. "Don't be afraid."
"Mmm," she replied listlessly.
Time is of the essence; this is not a good time for comforting each other or reminiscing.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Si Chengli had already made all the necessary arrangements.
He strode over and said, “Child, your uncle has taken care of everything. The German doctor you mentioned to Jingxu happens to be in Beijing. We’ve made contact with him, and he’s currently communicating with your grandmother’s doctor.”
Song Tingyu never expected it to be such a coincidence.
Si Chengli looked at the child opposite him, feeling both heartache and reluctance, but still asked her a question, "Tingyu, your brother isn't here, so you have to decide whether or not to have your grandmother's surgery. You know, any surgery carries risks."
While in the car, the doctor explained her grandmother's condition to her in detail.
There's a 10% chance of recovery if surgery is performed, but the remaining 90% chance is that Grandma might not survive the surgery.
Si Chengli and Si Jingxu looked at her with deep concern.
Song Tingyu lowered her eyes for a moment, then raised her head with a firm look in her eyes, "I'll sign the consent form for the surgery, Uncle. I can take responsibility for the consequences."
A hint of appreciation flashed in Si Chengli's eyes. He wasn't being whiny; he was someone worth showing off.
He nodded repeatedly, "Just hearing that is enough; I don't need to worry about anything else."
Si Jingxu's eyes were filled with only heartache.
"Sit down for a while." He led her to the side. "Now that we're here, you don't need to be so tense. Listen to me, you've done a great job with what you can do."
“I know, Grandma will be fine. She promised me she would live to be a hundred and watch me get married and have children. She will also help me take care of my children.” Song Tingyu said softly, “I will be fine too. I will be eighteen soon. I am an adult.”
She was encouraging herself.
Si Jingxu didn't say anything, but tightened his grip on her hand.
Before the surgery, Song Tingyu met the doctor from Germany.
He explained to himself the potential risks of the surgery.
The more Song listened to Yu, the more flustered she became.
But her brother wasn't there; she was an adult.
She couldn't show her vulnerability and confusion in front of everyone.
She held firm to one belief: she needed the surgery to save her grandmother.
————————————
Song Jingyi is in Russia.
After dealing with the people causing trouble behind the scenes and safely bringing his men out, he learned that such a huge thing had happened at home.
He didn't even have time to change his clothes before heading straight to Beijing.
A few hours later, he saw his sister waiting outside his grandmother's intensive care unit at the hospital.
"Little Fish," he called out, filled with remorse.
Upon hearing her brother's voice, Song Tingyu turned her head, tears welling up in her eyes.
She ran towards her weary brother.
She buried her face tightly in his chest.
On the way, Song Jingyi contacted Mu Zi and learned that his grandmother's surgery was over. "Xiao Yu, I'm sorry, your brother is late."
Song Tingyu didn't like him saying that.
She hugged him tightly, her voice muffled, "Brother, I won't allow you to say that. If you say sorry again, I'll lose my temper."
Song Jingyi stroked her back without saying a word.
"Brother," Song Tingyu called out to him.
"Hmm." Song Jingyi lowered his head.
The younger sister's eyes were wet, but she said, "Brother, I didn't cry, I didn't cry at all."
"Little Fish is the best." Song Jingyi felt a pang of pain in his heart.
In the end, he still left his sister to face such a difficult decision alone.
"Grandma's surgery was a success. She's in the intensive care unit now. The doctor said we can go see her after one night of observation." Song Tingyu stepped out of her brother's arms, a comforting smile on her face.
“Grandma is great too,” Song Jingyi said, affectionately touching his sister’s face.
Si Jingxu stood not far away.
He overheard the entire conversation between the two siblings.
Miss Silent is really brave.
"Jingxu, thank you very much." Song Jingyi took his sister's hand and came over, expressing his sincere gratitude.
“We don’t talk about that when we’re friends.” Si Jingxu glanced at Song Tingyu, then said to Song Jingyi, “I’ll go get you some food and drinks, you two can talk.”
Song Jingyi nodded his thanks. It seems that Young Master Si isn't as prone to jealousy in this life.
