Chapter 5 This is like seeing a ghost.
In the two years since she was admitted to university, the two of them have not met, only occasionally spoken on the phone.
Shen Yanzhou stood in front of the large glass window and immediately spotted the small figure.
She weaved through the crowded people, her expression indistinct, but she didn't seem to be there for fun.
"Did they just get out of school? Wearing a school uniform? They look like middle school students." Long Yu stood to the side, holding a wine glass.
Qi Feng is the most well-informed person in Beijing; there's nothing he doesn't know, big or small.
"Their school is having a debate today, and she's wearing her summer uniform."
Shen Yanzhou didn't ask any further questions, but took out his phone and dialed Yan Buyu's number.
They were going crazy with anxiety, both speaking and remaining silent.
Shen Yunqi ran out to play as soon as his mother left.
Normally she wouldn't bother with it, but she promised her mother she'd video chat later.
He clearly said he was here, but I can't find him anywhere.
Yan Buyu had a thin layer of sweat on his forehead.
The phone she was holding vibrated, and when she saw who was calling, a cold sweat broke out on her back.
Shen Yanzhou stood calmly by the window, watching the nominal third young lady of the Shen family walk in a flustered manner and casually pull a waiter aside.
Then I quickly ran in the direction he pointed.
"Hey, I remember your sister isn't one to stay still, but she runs pretty fast." He Run joked from the side.
Qi Feng also found it amusing. "It's because the eldest in the family wanted to check up on her, which scared the child. Yanzhou, don't scold her. What child isn't playful?"
Shen Yanzhou was a little depressed.
Everyone thinks he's going to be mean.
The kind waiter pointed Yan Buyu to an empty private room, saying that it was a VIP lounge and no one was there at the moment, so she could go there to answer her parents' call.
Yan Buyu ran over, pushed open the door, and found it completely dark inside; sure enough, no one was there.
I reached out and pressed the switch next to me, and the room became bright.
When Shen Yanzhou made his second call, she caught her breath and pressed the answer button, "Big...Big Brother."
Her voice was soft and sweet, and she was slightly out of breath.
Shen Yanzhou hummed in agreement. "What are you doing?"
They hadn't spoken on the phone for three months; the last time they talked was when he asked how his exam results were.
Yan Buyu was genuinely afraid of this nominal elder brother.
He always had a cold face, and his eyes seemed to see right through people. It was extremely uncomfortable to remain silent in his presence.
Even when answering the phone, my heart pounded painfully. "Ah, I... I'm having tutoring."
"Tutoring?" Shen Yanzhou asked again, "What kind of tutoring?"
Yan Buyu's back was covered in fine beads of sweat, which felt both prickly and itchy. He casually said, "I'm learning French, and my teacher says my pronunciation isn't standard, so I'm working on it."
The person on the other end didn't speak, but seemed a little anxious.
"Tu es magnifique aujourd'hui." Suddenly, a voice in perfect French fluently rang in my ears.
Without saying a word, the hairs on his body stood on end, and he let out a soft cry as he pressed himself tightly against the wall.
It's like seeing a ghost.
The man opposite him was tall and handsome, dressed in a black casual high-end suit, with his shirt collar slightly open, revealing a small patch of fair skin.
Her hair was styled in a 3/7 ratio with a smoky gray perm, and her amorous peach blossom eyes held a hint of a smile. She exuded an air of noble nonchalance.
He looks like a scion of a prominent family in Beijing.
The French I just heard was spoken by him; he must have heard his own conversation.
"What's wrong?" Shen Yanzhou heard the French and her voice.
Si Jingxu raised an eyebrow, gesturing for her to answer the phone.
He blinked silently, suppressing his fear, and said into the phone, "Ah, I accidentally bumped my leg. It's okay, brother."
Shen Yanzhou couldn't bear to expose her since she had lied so convincingly. She looked so pitiful, so he let it go.
"I've arrived in Beijing. I'm having dinner with my friends now, and I'll be home in an hour."
Ignoring the man beside her, Yan Buyu's eyes widened. "Huh?! An hour?"
"Okay, one hour." Shen Yanzhou said and hung up the phone.
It's over.
She arrived home an hour later, but still hadn't found Shen Yunqi.
The immediate issues also need to be addressed.
But she has always been very good at reading people's expressions and knows how to be humble and unassuming.
She bowed slightly, her voice soft and gentle, "I'm sorry, sir. I just wanted to find a quiet place to take the call home. I didn't mean to disturb you. I thought no one was here. I'm so sorry."
The girl in front of me had long, loose hair with a curl at the end; she looked pretty and cute.
She was still wearing her school shirt, and the bow tie made her look even more charming.
Si Jingxu's lips curled up slightly, but he suppressed it and said with a hint of distress, "Oh, I see. I was sleeping soundly when it suddenly got light."
"Sir, I'm sorry, but I'll buy you a drink," Yan Buyu said, wanting to leave quickly. She took two steps toward the door, ready to open it and run out at any moment. "Can I have the waiter bring it in later?"
Tsk, they're treating him like a bad guy again.
Si Jingxu suddenly felt a little unhappy.
He waved his hand casually, his tone languid, "Are you an adult yet? Drinking like this? Hurry up and leave. Don't come to places like this again, or I'll tell your parents."
Yan Buyu didn't think much of it; she had more important things to do right now.
He apologized again and quickly left.
I actually bumped my leg when I went out because I was nervous.
Shen Yanzhou didn't move, watching helplessly as Yan Buyu limped back into the dance floor.
Now her purpose was even clearer: she was looking for someone, specifically targeting men wearing floral shirts.
Finally, she found her target in the very center and most dazzling spot of the dance floor.
Shen Yunqi, with his purple hair, wore a white vest underneath a short-sleeved floral shirt, and was having a great time dancing with the scantily clad girls.
The next second, someone grabbed his hair and dragged him away from the center, limping.
Qi Feng and his friends were laughing so hard they were practically going crazy.
"This little sister may look small, but she's got a lot of strength. She's quick, accurate, and ruthless—perfect for sneak attacks." Qi Feng was almost laughing through his tears.
Long Yu chuckled, "Who are you dragging along? Your boyfriend?"
He Run was a bit better. He looked at the head of purple hair and thought it looked familiar. "Your good-for-nothing second son, right?"
Shen Yanzhou nodded with a stern face.
Not only are they ignorant and incompetent, but their frequenting of bars is also unacceptable.
He's such a grown man, yet his younger sister has to worry about him and come out looking for him.
He's been away from home for too long and hasn't fulfilled his responsibility to discipline his younger siblings.
"You guys drink, I'm leaving." Shen Yanzhou turned to get his coat.
“Isn’t it an hour? Give your sister some time to catch her breath. Look how scared the little girl is, she’s limping.” He Run handed him a glass of wine. “All kids in the family are the same, you can never stop worrying about them.”
"That's right, let's have some more fun at your welcome party. Jingxu hasn't arrived yet."
No sooner had Long Yu finished speaking than the door to the private room was pushed open.
The man strolled leisurely toward Shen Yanzhou, stretching out his arms, his peach blossom eyes deep and alluring.
His tone carried a mix of teasing, allure, nonchalance, and affectation: "Come on, give your brother a hug."
