Chapter 81 It's always better to know someone's background.

Chapter 81 It's always better to know someone's background.

The casual, smiling tone was all too familiar.

Without saying a word, she turned her head and met those smiling peach blossom eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly.

"Brother Jingxu?" Didn't he just say he didn't have time? His dad even complained a lot after hanging up the phone.

Si Jingxu, dressed in a white casual suit, strolled over to her side with a smile on his lips. "Hmm, not bad. Let me see you play another shot."

The silent coach had just wanted to go over and give her some pointers on her movements, but the man walked over and glanced at him.

He doesn't even dare to speak now.

That's pretty good; you can get the money just by standing there.

To be honest, those two really do look like a good match.

The man was tall and handsome, and the woman was petite and charming.

The man stood behind the girl, his eyes so tender they could melt tears.

He's just a bit sullen and reserved.

He doesn't directly make intimate contact with the girl, but the occasional deliberate physical touch is so suggestive that even he, a man, finds it alluring.

He needs to study hard; once he learns it, even more rich women will want to date him in the future.

He held the cue stick silently, his eyes fixed on the white ball, looking quite focused.

But her mind was already in turmoil.

The subtle yet pleasant aroma of agarwood wafted into my nose.

He stood beside her, a little distance away, but she could still feel the warmth emanating from him.

It's so hot.

"Silent?" Si Jingxu bent down to look at her eye level, looking at her rosy cheeks, and was in an unusually good mood. "Why are you blushing?"

It would have been better if she hadn't said anything; after she did, Yan Buyu's face turned even redder.

She gripped the club again, keeping her eyes straight ahead, and said, "Get out of the way, I'm about to swing. If I hit you, I won't pay for it."

Si Jingxu curled his lips and raised his eyebrows slightly. He stepped back to a safe distance, put his hands in his pockets, and stared at the back of her head.

She wore a high ponytail, looking youthful and energetic.

Wearing a pink polo shirt with white shorts, the shirt tucked into the waistband made her waist look even slimmer.

Those tender legs were slender and straight, and the lines were smooth and beautiful because of the effort.

Si Jingxu frowned. It was too thin; there was no flesh at all.

It must have been from being sick a couple of days ago.

Yan Buyu tried twice and gradually got into the swing of things, forgetting the man who had just made her blush and her heart race.

Just as I was about to take two more shots, my wrist suddenly felt warm and was grabbed by someone.

"Let's stop fighting and rest for a while." Si Jingxu led her to the nearby rest room without further ado.

“But I’ve just gotten the hang of it,” Yan Buyu said, following beside him, trying to pull her hand away but failing. “Shouldn’t we practice more?”

"Are you in such a hurry to participate in the competition or do you have a grudge against yourself? Your arm is almost cramped and you're still training. Tomorrow you won't be able to lift your arm," Si Jingxu turned his head and saw beads of sweat on her nose. "You can't even run on the track."

She didn't say anything, but her arm was a little sore.

She just hadn't expected Si Jingxu to be so observant; otherwise, he wouldn't be the future successor of the Si family.

The lounge had already prepared a variety of fruits and refreshments.

Yan Buyu's favorite peaches were also cut into pieces and pierced with delicate leaf-shaped fruit forks.

Si Jingxu then let go of her hand, pulled out a chair to indicate that she should sit down first, and then pulled up a chair and sat down next to her.

"Wipe your sweat," Si Jingxu handed her a white handkerchief. "Do you like playing ball?"

"I kind of like it," Yan Buyu said, taking the handkerchief with both hands after thanking him. She wiped her nose, and the sandalwood scent became even stronger. She glanced at the handkerchief and said to Si Jing, a little embarrassed, "I haven't returned the handkerchief from last time."

Everything was cleaned up, but something always happened.

No need to pay it back, it's already on the tip of my tongue. "No rush, let's eat something."

Si Chengli and Shen Zhiye finished their conversation and returned to the VIP room.

Just then, they saw the usually aloof and lazy Si Jingxu leaning forward to talk to the young girl.

He had a smile on his lips, and his eyes were full of gentleness.

Si Chengli raised an eyebrow, understanding dawning on him.

He just said he had something to do and wouldn't even see his own grandfather, but then he changed into a flashy outfit and came over to coax someone's daughter to eat fruit.

For so many years, we've been urging him to find a suitable partner and get engaged, but he kept making excuses and eventually stopped showing up altogether.

Judging from his current behavior, he probably already had feelings for that girl, otherwise he wouldn't have rushed over after just one phone call.

They've all been through it all, and they're the most shrewd of all.

You can tell.

Si Chengli smiled meaningfully, "The children have all grown up."

Shen Zhiye felt a lump in his throat; he had felt something was off when he was at home last time.

Si Jingxu was sending gifts and making people laugh, it seemed he had his eye on his little princess.

He couldn't laugh. "My daughter is only twenty, still young, she hasn't even graduated from university yet."

Si Chengli couldn't possibly miss the implication: "Our daughter must have quite a few suitors at school."

"My daughter is a good person and a good student, it's normal for her to have suitors." It's not just your son.

“College students come from all over the country, so you have to do your due diligence. Don’t let our daughter get scammed.” Si Chengli added after saying that, “It’s always better to know someone’s background.”

After all, they were friends for many years and business partners, so there was nothing the two brothers couldn't talk about.

Shen Zhiye glared at him irritably. "Don't try to poison my mind. My daughter might not even be interested in your son."

Si Chengli coughed lightly, "That's true."

Look at his son's worthless expression.

"We've all been through this age, let the children decide their own affairs. In the end, Zhiye, as long as our daughter is happy, that's all that matters."

Si Chengli knew what Shen Zhiye cared about most.

Outsiders say that Shen Zhiye doesn't care about this adopted daughter.

But he knew that whenever his brother mentioned this child in front of him, his face was full of genuine pride and satisfaction.

When he goes out for social events, he always remembers to bring a dessert for his wife and daughter.

At first, he thought Shen Zhiye wanted to keep Yan Buyu as a mistress and then arrange a business marriage.

Later it turned out that wasn't the case.

He would not take his daughter to banquets because of her social anxiety.

If he wanted to take advantage of Yan Buyu, he would recklessly take her to various social occasions, casting a wide net to maximize his profits.

Now……

Shen Zhiye's eyes were practically spitting fire as he looked at Si Jingxu.

Si Chengli turned his head to look out the window; the sky was so blue today.

"Buyu, how's your practice going?" Shen Zhiye put on a smile and sat down next to his daughter. "Why don't you play a little longer?"

"Uncle, I'm fine, even better than last time. I'm just a little tired, I need to rest." Yan Buyu pushed the fruit plate on the table in front of Shen Zhiye. "These peaches are delicious."

Shen Zhiye's eyelids twitched.

Everyone knows her daughter loves peaches.

“Jingxu, didn’t you take your sister for a couple of shots?” Si Chengli followed over, his tone much more amiable than before. “Buyu, he’s a really good golfer, let him show you.”

"Uncle Si, Brother Jingxu gave me some pointers." Yan Buyu put down his fruit fork and replied politely.

"Oh, I see," Si Chengli nodded, then looked at Shen Zhiye, "Zhiye, do you have plans for lunch? How about we have lunch together? What does our daughter like to eat?"

Shen Zhiye glanced at him. "Noon isn't an option. I have to take the kids to the company. Maybe next time."
