Chapter 98 Was it damaged?
"Hmm... let me think," Si Jingxu squinted, pretending to try hard to remember, "No, I've had too much to drink, I can't remember."
Okay, that's what happens when you drink too much.
He remained silent.
Si Jingxu leaned back in his chair, tilting his head to look at her. "Xiao Buyu, why don't you ask me why I don't ride with other people?"
"Why ask that? Because they're not done yet. My older brother just said they'll be going home a little while later."
"Do you want some ice cream?" Si Jingxu suddenly asked her while the car was waiting at a traffic light.
Following his gaze, Yan Buyu saw the ice cream shop she loved.
The driver pulled over, asked Si Jingxu about his preferences without saying a word, and then got out of the car.
He followed after me after I took only a couple of steps.
"You can just wait in the car," Yan Buyu said, noticing that he had drunk quite a bit and was swaying as he walked. "I'll buy it."
Si Jingxu lowered his head and raised an eyebrow at her, then leaned down and whispered in her ear, "There's no reason for the little princess to pay the bill. Your brother Jingxu is quite the gentleman here, isn't he?"
His voice was deep, husky, and magnetic; even though his voice reached your ears, it sent a tingling sensation through your heart.
"Hello, two lychees and peaches, and a cup of iced lemon black tea with less sugar, please."
Si Jingxu took out his phone to pay. "Want some lemon tea? Thirsty? Or would you like some water?"
“No,” Yan Buyu shook his head, “it’s for Abin.”
Ah Bin... that driver and bodyguard.
Si Jingxu, holding an ice cream, said, "Xiao Buyu, you have to worry about so many people every day, aren't you tired?"
Even the driver has to think about buying lemon tea.
I'd still prefer it with less ice and less sugar.
"No," Yan Buyu licked her ice cream, squinting slightly from the cold. "I like taking care of everyone."
In her past life, she suffered and endured hardship; she was among the lowest of the low.
She knows what it feels like to be ignored and looked down upon.
In this life, she has the means, so all she can do is be good to those around her within her capabilities.
Si Jingxu also took a bite of the ice cream, and the rich peach flavor filled his mouth.
He began to consider what He Run had said today.
Pure and kind...
Just as he reached the car, Si Jingxu suddenly lost his footing and fell to one side.
It leans impartially on Yan Buyu.
Suddenly, a man much taller than himself fell over, his body tilting slightly without him saying a word, "Oops, my ice cream."
Si Jingxu paused for a moment, thinking, "Right now, he's not even as good as an ice cream, is he?"
Fortunately, Yan Buyu managed to save the ice cream despite her best efforts.
"Brother Jingxu, what's wrong?" She quickly called for Abin to come down and help.
When Ah Bin saw that his young lady was being pressed down by a big man and was about to break, he rushed over to help Si Jingxu.
But Si Jingxu turned his head and gave him a faint glance.
He stopped moving instinctively.
In that instant, Si Jingxu looked down at Yan Buyu, his eyes filled with grievance, and said in a small voice, "I have my OCD and don't want anyone to touch me."
Yan Buyu was taken aback; this sounded like she was being coquettish.
"Ah, then I'll help you. Ah Bin, take these things and open the car door."
Si Jingxu steadied Yan Buyu by supporting his shoulder, his brows furrowed and his face full of guilt. "I accidentally twisted my ankle just now. Are you alright? Did you hurt yourself?"
"I'm fine. Do you see if your foot is badly injured? If not, we should go to the hospital first," Yan Buyu asked hurriedly.
Si Jingxu frowned and moved his head slightly. "It's alright, I'm not hurt. I just twisted my ankle. I don't need to go to the hospital. I can just apply some ointment when I get home."
"Let's get in the car first." Yan Buyu held onto Si Jingxu's arm with both hands, trying to help him bear some of the weight.
A smile flickered in Si Jingxu's eyes as he leaned against her, obediently following her instructions.
This world is truly wonderful.
She kept glancing at him from time to time without saying a word, which made Si Jingxu extremely happy.
When we got home, before Yan Buyu got out of the car, she was still reminding him, "You drank too much. When you get home, don't just lie down and sleep. Make sure to apply the medicine first, okay?"
Si Jingxu was a beat slow to react, looking like he was under the influence of alcohol. "Hmm, I'm afraid I'll forget. Why don't you remind me later?"
Yan Buyu was all too familiar with that expression; her brother would come home drunk and wear his slippers on the wrong feet—that was exactly how he acted.
Nodding, "Alright, alright, you can go now. Go home and get some sleep. Ah Bin, take Young Master Si home and see if his family gets him arrested before you come back."
“Yes, miss.” Ah Bin replied.
Si Jingxu gave the address, closed his eyes, leaned back in his chair, and his mind was filled with thoughts of her.
Ah Bin was very responsible; he escorted the person to their doorstep and only left after seeing the family's servant come out to greet them.
As soon as the car drove away, Si Jingxu waved his hand to signal the servants to leave, his eyes clear and showing no signs of drunkenness.
She walked briskly back to her bedroom.
Taking a shower, changing clothes, etc., and sending messages without saying a word.
After washing up, Yan Buyu estimated that it was about time and sent a message to Si Jingxu to apply the medicine, but the other party did not reply for a long time.
He's really drunk. He usually replies to messages instantly.
I don't want to talk to him, but I'm afraid his injuries will worsen the next day.
After much deliberation, I made a voice call.
Fortunately, the other end answered the phone, albeit unclearly.
"Brother Jingxu, have you applied the medicine? Does your foot still hurt?"
Her voice was soft and gentle, and it was even more pleasant to listen to at night when there were no distracting background noises.
Si Jingxu curled his lips, a playful urge to tease her arising. "Who?"
“I am Yan Buyu, Brother Jingxu. You hurt your foot, and you asked me to remind you to apply the medicine,” she explained patiently.
After a few seconds of pause, Si Jingxu gave an "oh" in a casual tone, "My little Buyu, are you going to sleep?"
"Okay. Remember to apply the medicine."
"Okay, go to sleep, sweetie. I'll take you out to play another day." He wanted to chat a little longer, but he was afraid that if he talked too much, he would be exposed for faking being drunk.
He nodded twice without saying a word, then hung up the phone and didn't move, looking down at their chat window.
He chuckled softly.
He's usually a rather aloof person, but when he's drunk, he acts like a child and even acts cute.
The contrast is huge, and it's kind of cute.
Looking at the time, it's past ten o'clock. I haven't seen my brother all day. I wonder how he is.
Yan Buyu ran to Shen Yunqi's door in his slippers and knocked a few times.
"Just got back? What time is it?" Shen Yunqi opened the door and saw his sister, reaching out to pinch her cheek. "Is anyone back yet?"
"Who?" Yan Buyu asked knowingly. "Who is it, brother? Who is it?"
Shen Yunqi turned and walked towards the bedroom, "I don't want to talk to you."
Yan Buyu chuckled and followed closely behind, saying, "I don't care about you, brother, what are you doing?"
A desk had been added to his bedroom, covered with a pile of messy documents.
Shen Yunqi scratched his head. "Looking at reports, like they're from an alien civilization."
Yan Buyu picked up a card and also felt a headache coming on. "You came to ask your older brother about this?"
"What are you asking me?" Shen Yanzhou came home. His younger brother's room door was open, and he could hear his sister's voice. He walked in as well.
"Big brother, you're back!" Yan Buyu exclaimed in surprise, "Big brother has a question for you!"
Shen Yunqi couldn't stop him; this kid really talks too fast.
Shen Yanzhou picked up the report from Yan Buyu's hand and understood. "What don't you understand?"
Yan Buyu moved a chair over for Shen Yanzhou to sit down. "Big brother, you've been drinking. Are you hungry? Brother, haven't you eaten yet? I'll cook some noodles for you two. Come to the dining room when you're done."
As Si Jingxu was getting ready for bed late at night, several messages popped up in the group chat.
Shen Yanzhou: [You guys drank too much and went home. Will your sister cook noodles for you?]
A photo of plain noodles with a poached egg.
Then there's a photo of my younger sister wearing an apron in the kitchen, her back to me.
A photo of my younger brother having dinner with me.
Si Jingxu: ...
Shen Yanzhou really had never seen anything like it.
