Chapter 14 What's meant to happen will happen.
She did her warm-up exercises without saying a word, but she always felt a gaze on her, which made her extremely awkward.
Qin Nianke continued, "I'm really fed up. Not only did he not let me find someone to run for me, but he also came here to supervise me personally. How come he's so free? He's never cared about anything I've done since I was a child. He wouldn't even bother to ask if I got two points on a test. What kind of weird wind is blowing today?"
"You said your cousin is cruel, domineering, inhuman, cold-blooded, sharp-tongued, ruthless, and unapproachable. That's him."
"Oh my god!" Qin Nianke rushed over and covered Yan Buyu's mouth. "Can I treat you to dinner? But please don't let him know that I'm telling the truth outside, or he'll kill me himself."
Unable to speak, he could only nod.
Qin Nianke let go of his hand and continued, "That's him. If he lived in ancient times, he would be the kind of king who is very capable but also very cruel."
"..." They were still talking quite happily.
It's clear that Qin Nianke cares a lot about Si Jingxu.
She was still talking even after they had already started running.
He spoke only occasionally, sometimes adding a few words in response.
"Oh my god, why aren't we leaving? Is he planning to watch me finish the race?"
The two had already run most of the lap when they arrived at the section of road where Si Jingxu had stopped.
He remained silent, his gaze fixed straight ahead.
She was a little intimidated by him.
Perhaps it was the rumors I heard about the Si family's crown prince in my previous life that weren't so good.
Perhaps it was because both times we met in this life were full of unexpected events.
She dislikes people and things that are not part of the plan.
Si Jingxu tilted her head and looked at Yan Buyu, her cheeks flushed from running, she was incredibly cute.
She didn't dare look at him directly, but secretly glanced at him out of the corner of her eye.
A cowardly little brat who has the desire to steal but not the courage.
When they reached the last half lap, neither of them spoke, both of them panting heavily from exhaustion.
It was better to remain silent, but Qin Nian didn't want to move at all.
"Hang in there, hang in there," he encouraged her silently.
"I...I can't take it anymore. I love his dad's so-and-so. If I fail, I fail." Qin Nianke held her waist.
"The last two hundred meters." Yan Buyu felt sorry for her.
Then he simply ran behind her and, like his brother, pushed her forward.
The two of them passed in four minutes and fifteen seconds. Just barely passing.
"Holy crap," Qin Nianke sat down on the ground, "I have to treat you to a big meal, thank you."
Without saying a word, he waved his hand, clutched his lower right abdomen with his right hand, and bent over in pain.
"What's wrong with you? Why aren't you saying anything?" Qin Nianke immediately stood up. "Did you get a stitch in your side?"
He nodded silently.
"Don't move, I'll have my cousin's assistant carry you to the infirmary." Qin Nianke had some energy now.
The two of them were blocked by the crowd, so Si Jingxu didn't see what was going on.
Seeing Qin Nianke running over anxiously, she asked, "What's wrong?"
"She's having trouble breathing and her stomach hurts. Cousin, let Assistant Zhou carry her to the infirmary."
As soon as she finished speaking, the man who had been standing there as a male model for so long strode away.
Qin Nianke was stunned, and slowly turned to look at Si Jingxu's assistant, Zhou Ze. "What does this mean? My cousin went to carry it himself? Is there some kind of bug in this world?"
Zhou Ze knew exactly what was going on, but he was just an assistant.
His duty was to help Si Jingxu solve his problems.
He met Qin Nianke's questioning gaze, looked up at the sky, and said with great sorrow, "I can't carry it... I'm too weak..."
Qin Nianke: ...
There's no need to say it out loud.
He squatted on the ground without saying a word, his lower abdomen wracked with pain.
A male classmate next to her asked if she needed to be taken to the infirmary.
"Get out of the way." A cold yet barbed voice drifted over.
The boy was startled by Si Jingxu's glare and turned to leave.
A dark shadow fell in front of Yan Buyu, and then he was picked up.
She looked up and met her boss Jingxu's gaze.
"Press down hard and don't say anything." After he finished speaking, he picked her up and quickly left.
He smelled wonderful, with a faint scent of sandalwood that made people feel at ease.
From her perspective, his smooth jawline was taut, adding to his untouchable air of nobility.
He is really good-looking.
Suddenly, the handsome man looked down at her, a smile playing on his lips, his eyes sparkling. "Am I pretty?"
"Hmm," Yan Buyu blurted out.
Si Jingxu chuckled softly, his chest trembling. "Does it still hurt?"
"A little." Yan Buyu suddenly blushed; lust is a double-edged sword.
How could she be so blinded by beauty, say the wrong thing, and offend Si Jingxu? What should she do?
After she calmed down, she realized that the two of them hadn't come to the infirmary at all.
Instead, it was next to a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
"Aren't we going to the infirmary?" Yan Buyu asked.
Si Jingxu held her in one arm, opened the car door with the other, put her in the back seat, and then went around to the other side to get into the car.
"The infirmary can't cure a side stitch. Just rest and catch your breath, and it'll be fine. I'm comfortable in my car, so you can stay here without worry," Si Jingxu said shamelessly.
He leaned back in his chair, and seeing that Yan Buyu's complexion had returned to normal, he felt relieved.
I'm in the mood to play with the kids now.
"Now let's talk about you. You accepted the gift when we met, but today you're pretending not to know me?"
He remained silent, his heart sinking.
What's meant to happen will happen.
Rumor has it that the ruthless young master of Beijing's elite circles has come to settle scores with her.
She said in a low voice with great pride, "You were the one who pretended not to know me first."
Si Jingxu raised an eyebrow. Could your voice be any softer? What a coward.
"Now that there's no one around, what should you call me?"
I couldn't keep up with his train of thought.
But she still had her senses; the Shen family could never afford to offend the Si family's heir.
"Brother Jingxu," she said softly.
Si Jingxu rushed over early and was surrounded by a group of unrelated people for so long, all for this one shout.
His smile deepened, he was in a good mood, and his posture relaxed.
He leaned back in his chair, looking at Yan Buyu's profile with a smile in his eyes. "Last time I told you I had a younger sister who was also learning French, didn't you believe me?"
Can this be admitted?
That's absolutely not allowed!
Yan Buyu made up a lie very sincerely, "No, Brother Jingxu, of course I believe what you say. You have no reason to lie to me. This is just a very small matter."
That statement is both false and true.
But without evidence, there's nothing we can do to her.
There were two knocks on the car window, and Si Jingxu frowned impatiently.
The car window rolled down, and Qin Nianke's magnified face appeared before Yan Buyu.
"Cousin, why did you bring him into the car? I just ran to the infirmary. Are you feeling better, Bu Yu?"
"Okay, I'm fine now, Nianke, let's go back." Yan Buyu hurriedly got out of the car.
"Cousin, we're off now. I didn't ask anyone to run errands for me today. Aren't I amazing? Don't cut off my living expenses."
Si Jingxu snorted coldly, "It's all because others pushed you to run. You were so useless that you almost made others fail."
Qin Nianke pouted; she never had a good word to say to her cousin anyway.
"Well then, I'll be going now, Brother Jingxu."
She pronounced the last four words very softly, just enough for Si Jingxu to hear.
Si Jingxu smiled and said, "Yes, I heard you."
As Yan Buyu got out of the car, the person behind him said in a low voice, "I won't lie to you about big things."
He remained silent, his steps faltering slightly.
This car is a Phantom; she seems to be hallucinating.
