Chapter 303 You're Just My Jingyi

Chapter 303 You're Just My Jingyi

Song Shuchen's brows furrowed almost imperceptibly, then he smiled gently and reassured her, "Did you have a nightmare, or are you envious of other people having daughters?"

Meng Qingzhi held his hand, her voice unsteady, "I don't know what happened, but I just saw that girl from the Shen family, and I think she looks a lot like my mother when she smiles."

She frowned, tilting her head as if trying to recall something from her mind.

This state is not good.

Even though Song Shuchen wanted to acknowledge the child, he didn't want to use her as a pretext. "There are many people who look alike. You miss your mother, right? After you're done with this busy period, I'll go with you to see her, okay?"

Meng Qingzhi sighed, "I'm afraid she doesn't want to see me again."

"Don't think too much," Song Shuchen said, taking her hand and leading her up. "Do you want to go home and rest, or would you like to go shopping some more?"

“Let’s browse around some more. I’d like to give you a watch as a gift.” Meng Qingzhi smiled and took Song Shuchen’s arm. “The young lady also came to pick out a watch earlier to give to her father. Isn’t that a coincidence? She and I both have our favorite model.”

Song Shuchen felt a pang of distress in his heart.

His daughter gave Shen Zhiye a watch.

“No need,” Song Shuchen suddenly interrupted Meng Qingzhi.

Meng Qingzhi was taken aback. "Ah, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing, I've just been busy lately," Song Shuchen quickly reassured her, afraid she might overthink things. "Qingzhi, let's go home, I'm a little tired."

Song Shuchen never complained of being tired, which worried Meng Qingzhi greatly. "Are you feeling unwell? Should we have a doctor come over to check on you?"

“No need,” Song Shuchen said, putting his arm around her as they walked out. “You just need to rest.”

After turning around and walking a few steps, Meng Qingzhi excitedly grabbed Song Shuchen's hand, "Shuchen, look, it's Jingxu and the young lady. Look how sweet and well-matched they are!"

Shen Buyu, small as a child, was held in Si Jingxu's arms.

She was holding an ice cream and enjoying it.

The man looked down at her with a smile, his eyes full of doting affection.

Song Shuchen's gaze fell on the watch bag that Si Jingxu was carrying.

This is the watch his daughter chose to give to Shen Zhiye, who is not related to him by blood.

Meng Qingzhi smiled and tilted her head back, looking at Song Shuchen's tense jawline. Her smile froze. "Shuchen, why are you unhappy?"

Not wanting her to overthink it, Song Shuchen came up with a plausible reason: "Ling Huiwen's son."

Meng Qingzhi smiled and said, "You two, after all these years, can't you sit down and have a proper chat, just for my sake?"

“I have nothing to talk about with her,” Song Shuchen said, continuing to lead her out only after the child’s figure was out of sight. “Let’s go back.”

Outside the mall, Song Jingyi and his entourage were already waiting in the car.

Although reluctant, Si Jingxu still saw her off into the car. "Go have some fun. I'm going to see your older brother. See you later."

"Then don't drink too much. Goodbye, Brother Jingxu." Shen Buyu waved with a smile.

“Jingyi, she ate an ice cream today, don’t give her any more,” Si Jingxu said in a low voice. “Also, if she wants ice cubes, try not to give them to her. Of course, if you can’t resist her whining, then disregard what I said.”

"Aren't you going?" Song Jingyi was slightly surprised. He thought it would be another group of people eating together.

"I'd like to, but my girlfriend won't agree," Si Jingxu said, feigning helplessness. "Alright, I'm going to find Yanzhou now. You guys have fun, just drop her off at her doorstep."

Chen Mo was driving, and A-Cheng was in the passenger seat.

Shen Buyu and Song Jingyi sat in the back, while Mu Zi followed not far away on her motorcycle.

"Why didn't you let Jingxu and Yanzhou come along?" Song Jingyi couldn't help but ask as he got into the car.

As he spoke, he rubbed his hands together.

He sensed that his sister had something to say.

He was afraid...

Did she regret acknowledging Song Shuchen and Meng Qingzhi after seeing them?

All the comfort and感动 I received before were only temporary.

Song Jingyi had never been so nervous, not even when someone pointed a gun at his head, not even when he was in an environment full of bombs.

He never did that either.

The throat involuntarily swallows.

I wonder how he will react when he hears what his sister says.

Shen Buyu, who was holding her phone and making a room reservation, didn't look up. "Oh, I want to talk to you."

Song Jingyi's heart sank; as expected.

Happiness that wasn't meant for him ultimately wasn't meant for him.

Chen Mo and Acheng both felt the low pressure inside the car.

Acheng had been instructed before leaving home that he shouldn't say anything carelessly.

But right now, the eldest brother is holding on, while Chen Mo next to him is just a block of wood.

Only he can shoulder this heavy responsibility.

"Um, Miss," Ah Cheng said in a low voice, his speech slower than usual, so it didn't sound like he was chattering, "what do you want to say to the boss?"

After booking the room and discussing the food with the manager, Shen Buyu put away his phone and focused on having a proper chat.

She looked up with a smile and noticed that the atmosphere inside the car was a bit strange.

"Huh? There's nothing special to say," she turned to look at the expressionless Song Jingyi. "Jingyi-ge, are you feeling unwell? Or do you have something else to do? We can eat another day."

“It’s okay, I’m not feeling unwell,” he said, his tattooed hand clenched into a fist. “Little Fish, you can say whatever you want.”

Shen Buyu was stunned.

She lowered her head and reflected for a moment.

He craned his neck to look at Chen Mo, who was driving steadily but gripping the steering wheel tightly with both hands.

She glanced at A-Cheng, who wanted to chatter but was holding back his words.

Finally, his gaze swept over Song Jingyi once more, settling on his clenched fist.

With a keen mind and rich imagination, Chen Buyu pondered for a moment.

"Jingyi, you don't think I'm going to cut ties with you and have a farewell dinner, do you?"

Song Jingyi didn't speak, but turned to look out of the car.

As the weather cools, the leaves on the trees turn yellow and wither, gradually falling and rising with the wind, creating a desolate and chilly scene.

Suddenly.

My hands suddenly felt warm.

He lowered his eyes, and there was a small, soft hand.

The girl's voice, suppressing a laugh, rang in my ears, "We really are siblings, both of us have such vivid imaginations. You're so great, why would I want to have a farewell dinner with you?"

Song Jingyi turned around to look at her.

Shen Buyu's eyes were red, but she was smiling. "I just felt that every time we ate together, it was a bunch of our friends. You're not familiar with them, so we couldn't even have a private chat. That's why I sent everyone away."

However, it was misunderstood.

"I see." Song Jingyi felt relieved; he had been terrified.

“Brother Jingyi, Song Shuchen is Song Shuchen, and Meng Qingzhi is Meng Qingzhi. What they do is not something you can control, and their actions are none of your business.”

"Mmm." Song Jingyi felt a warmth in his heart.

“You said that whether it’s Song Buyu or Shen Buyu, they are just your little fish to you. Similarly, to me, you are not anyone’s son. You are just my Jingyi brother.”
