Chapter 252 We Can't Make the Choice for Her

Chapter 252 We Can't Make the Choice for Her

Song Jingyi followed Shen Zhiye into his study at home.

The maid left two cups of tea and went out.

"Have some tea." Shen Zhiye sat down, picked up the teacup, and took a sip by himself without looking at Song Jingyi.

Song Jingyi didn't move. "Uncle Chen, my father is looking for you."

Shen Zhiye put down his teacup, leaned back on the sofa, and stared intently at Song Jingyi. "You came to Beijing because of Buyu, didn't you?"

It was all planned from the very first appearance.

“Yes, I came here as soon as I learned about this younger sister,” Song Jingyi said truthfully. “However, her appearance at the banquet was an accident. My original intention was just to see her, but I didn’t expect to run into bad people.”

Shen Zhiye remembered this.

If it weren't for him, my daughter would definitely have suffered that day.

"And then?" Shen Zhiye's gaze was cold. "Now that you're sure Buyu is your sister, and you've been appearing in front of her so frequently, what's next? Take her away?"

Song Jingyi met Shen Zhiye's gaze and chuckled a few times.

“Uncle Shen, I told Yanzhou that I’m not here to take the child from you,” Song Jingyi said, picking up his teacup. “If I could, I would never reveal this matter for the rest of my life.”

Having been in Beijing for so long, he had heard a lot about the Shen family's adopted daughter.

Without exception, they all said how much she was favored.

He had witnessed this several times with his own eyes, and it was true.

The two Shen brothers had no ill intentions towards her at all; they genuinely treated her like their own younger sister.

She wears and eats haute couture, especially when she's with Lan Xinyan.

She was completely dressed up as a beautiful little princess.

It was the image he imagined in his mind when he learned that he had a younger sister.

Shen Zhiye's expression softened somewhat. Song Jingyi was stronger than his father, so he had no reason to lie.

"You mean you can disown your sister?" he asked.

“This is what we thought at first, Uncle Shen. When you found out we had a relative outside, what was our first reaction?” Song Jingyi asked Shen Zhiye with a smile.

Shen Zhiye paused, then looked uncertainly at the young man sitting opposite him, "Are you doing well?"

"Yes, Uncle Chen, any normal person would think like this: Is she good or not? How does the family treat her? Has she been wronged?"

When he found out where his sister was, this was one of the first things he instructed his men to do.

“You’re quite different from your dad.” Shen Zhiye took another sip of hot water, and his stomach finally felt a little better.

“He can’t be viewed with the mindset of a normal person,” Song Jingyi said indifferently, as if he were talking about an outsider. “Uncle Shen, I am very grateful that you have taken such good care of Buyu.”

“It’s not appropriate to say thank you. She’s our own child.” Shen Zhiye didn’t respond to that. “From the first time Xinyan met her, she treated her like her own daughter, even better than she treated Yunqi.”

Song Jingyi could easily understand Shen Zhiye's unspoken message. He smiled and nodded, "Aunt Lan is very kind. She and Buyu have a mother-daughter bond."

“Yes, those two are truly destined for each other.” Shen Zhiye sighed. “If it had been someone else who came to Yan Qihang’s house back then, they probably would have looked down on this burden.”

How could she possibly feel so much heartache that she would rather leave with nothing than take away this unrelated child?

“Yes, that’s why I won’t take my sister away from Aunt Lan.” Song Jingyi added, “If it weren’t for Song Shuchen, I would only come to see her from time to time, just to know that she’s doing well.”

Shen Zhiye poured Song Jingyi a cup of tea, saying, "You're a good boy."

There was a soft sound coming from the doorway, but Shen Zhiye didn't hear it.

Song Jingyi glanced over and saw that the maid hadn't closed the door properly when she brought the tea, and a corner of a light purple skirt peeked through the slightly ajar door.

He was stunned for a moment.

"Jingyi?"

"Yes, Uncle Shen." Song Jingyi snapped out of his reverie, thanked him, and picked up his teacup. "I was worried about my dad."

“You said it yourself, your father’s thinking is different from ordinary people. He’s determined to take the child away.” Shen Zhiye sighed, “He’ll take her by force.”

“What I mean is,” Song Jingyi paused, “why don’t we find an opportunity to tell Xiaoyu the truth, let her know the facts, and then let her decide how to deal with it.”

“That’s what I mean too. She’s grown up, and we have no right to make choices for her. But, Jingyi, we still need time to figure out how to talk to the child.” As Shen Zhiye spoke, he thought about going outside to practice Tai Chi for a while.

"Uncle Shen, would you mind if I got to spend more time with Xiaoyu?" Song Jingyi picked up the teapot and poured tea for Shen Zhiye.

Shen Zhiye drank the tea and put down the teacup.

After a long pause, he lowered his voice and said, "It's only right."

Bu Yu's tragic past has nothing to do with Song Jingyi.

Having parents like those, his childhood wasn't easy either.

He was the one who truly cared about the child because he discovered the existence of his younger sister even before his own parents.

After he arrived in Beijing, he protected her openly and secretly without saying a word.

“Uncle Shen, thank you. I won’t force Xiaoyu, and I won’t do anything to upset Aunt Lan.” Song Jingyi stood up. “As for my dad, don’t worry about him. With me here, no one can take Xiaoyu away unless she wants to.”

Shen Zhiye escorted Song Jingyi downstairs.

I feel a bit more relaxed than when I was practicing Tai Chi earlier.

The current head of the Song family is Song Jingyi. Since he can say he will protect the child, there's no need to worry about the child being suddenly and inexplicably taken away.

When they got downstairs, the butler was carrying a bowl of soup upstairs. "Sir, Miss got up early today and knew you hadn't rested well, so she personally made this soup for you."

Shen Zhiye smiled and said, "Just put it there, I'll drink it later."

"Uncle Shen, soup should be drunk while it's hot. Have the butler take me there, you go and have your soup," Song Jingyi said with a smile.

"Alright, Jingyi, come over for dinner often from now on." Shen Zhiye happily went to drink the soup her daughter had made.

As they reached the door, Song Jingyi casually remarked, "I just saw your young lady upstairs. She was wearing a pretty blue dress. What brand is it? I'd like to buy one for my sister too."

The butler thought for a moment, "Miss is wearing a purple dress today, which was custom-made by Madam. I don't know the brand."

"Ah, then it's alright, thank you." Song Jingyi turned around with a solemn expression.

Chen Mo opened the car door, got in, glanced around, and started the car.

Song Jingyi leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and remained silent.

Chen Mo drove around the streets.

He knew Song Jingyi; Yi-ge looked like he was asleep right now.

He was actually thinking about something.

This usually happens when something difficult comes up.

He just came from the Shen family, so it must be related to Miss.

"Amo," Song Jingyi opened his eyes, "Has the car arrived?"

"The earliest is today, the latest is tomorrow," Chen Mo said. "The license plate is already prepared."

Song Jingyi hummed in agreement. "Has the pink bunny been finished by the designer we found before?"

"I finished making it yesterday and had it delivered to my house," Chen Mo paused, "Was the packaging also made pink?"

"nonsense."
