Chapter 271 My surname isn't Song, it's Chen
After Huo Qingci shared her learning journey, it was time for the students to ask questions.
The initial questions were fairly standard, focusing on learning and employment prospects.
Later, a girl stood up, her eyes sparkling, and asked, "Deputy Director Huo, do you have a girlfriend now?"
Huo Qingci was already used to it.
He replied calmly in French: “Personal questions are not within the scope of this lecture. If you have any professional questions, please feel free to ask. Also, other students may ask questions in French.”
Yan Buyu lowered his head and sorted through the methods for practicing French that Huo Qingci had just mentioned.
Suddenly, the person sitting next to me changed seats and asked in fluent French, "Do you think French is easy to learn?"
I turned my head and looked over, then paused for a moment, thinking he looked somewhat familiar.
The man, in his fifties, was dressed in a gray casual outfit. He had a smile on his face, but the years had left a sharp, piercing look in his eyes.
He was clearly a formidable figure even in his youth.
Perhaps it still is.
"It's alright," she replied softly.
Song Shuchen noticed that she moved to the side and reflected on whether he had frightened the child.
He had already spoken in the gentlest tone and with the most gentle expression.
Fearing that the child would be frightened, he moved his body slightly in the opposite direction.
Yan Buyu sensed it and breathed a sigh of relief.
He speaks fluent and authentic French; perhaps he is a parent of one of the students, or an old classmate of one of the teachers at school.
She felt relieved and continued listening to Huo Qingci's sharing.
Song Shuchen turned his head to look at his daughter.
She doesn't look like him or Qingzhi at all; she looks a lot like his mother-in-law who looked down on him back then.
However, the daughter is prettier, with bright, sparkling eyes.
She kept her head down, but her back was ramrod straight as she took notes. The comments from the girls around her about how good-looking the man in the book didn't bother her at all.
She was so focused that even the light shining on her seemed to pierce through.
Song Shuchen suddenly felt a little proud.
The Song family's offspring are indeed different from ordinary people.
He felt a pang of regret, wishing Qingzhi had told the truth back then.
He will then be able to raise his daughter by his side from a young age.
It's just a pity...
After the lecture, Huo Qingci left the room.
The students also walked out of the auditorium one after another.
She remained silent, blending into the crowd. Something felt off about her, as if someone was watching her from behind.
Looking around, he found no one; they were all students from his school.
I left the auditorium, ready to have lunch and continue my classes.
My phone rang twice, an urgent notification that the afternoon classes were canceled because the teacher had urgent business to attend to and couldn't find a substitute teacher.
She held her phone in her hand, wondering whether she should ask Song Jingyi to have lunch with her.
However, a last-minute invitation seems insincere.
Just as I was struggling with this decision, the road in front of me was suddenly blocked.
She looked up and saw the uncle who had spoken to her in French next to the auditorium.
She went left, and the man went right.
She went to the right, and the man went to the left.
This was specifically designed to ambush her, and Yan Buyu felt a sudden alarm bell ring in her mind.
When Mu Zi is at school, he won't stick close to her, but he'll keep her within his sight.
At this moment, Mu Zi should be right behind him on his left.
Without uttering a word, he spoke in French, "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"
Seeing her nervousness, Song Shuchen laughed heartily and replied in fluent Chinese, "Don't be afraid, child. I'm not a bad person. I'm Song Shuchen."
He stood frozen in place, speechless, his mind momentarily blank.
Song Shuchen?
In the story Jingyi told, was that old-fashioned domineering CEO?
Song Shuchen waited for her reaction.
He knew that Song Jingyi had gone to the Shen family for dinner, and that's why he brought so many gifts with him.
The child definitely knows.
"Hmm..." Yan Buyu organized his thoughts, looked up, and asked uncertainly, "Song as in Song Jingyi?"
Song Shuchen laughed loudly, "Yes, it's this Song, the same Song as you."
Without saying a word, I understood.
She looked down and put her phone and tablet into the bag she was carrying.
Then she looked up, her eyes bright and determined as she looked at Song Shuchen.
His voice was twice as loud as before, and he enunciated each word clearly, saying, "My surname isn't Song, it's Chen, the Chen of Chen Zhiye!"
After saying that, he turned around and ran away.
He ran while shouting, "Mu Zi, help me!"
All that remained was Song Shuchen, his smile frozen on his face.
What's wrong with the child...?
Without saying a word, he ran at the speed of a 100-meter sprint.
She tried to call out to Mu Zi, but in the instant she turned her head, she bumped into a hard embrace.
A pair of strong hands held her arms firmly.
Yan Buyu assumed he was one of Song Shuchen's men, so without looking up, he simply lifted his leg.
He kicked down, and his own foot ached from the impact, but the other person didn't budge an inch.
"Muzi! Help me!" she shouted behind her.
Mu Zi stood not far away, watching her, seemingly wanting to say something but hesitating.
"Little Fish, don't be afraid, it's me." Song Jingyi's cheerful voice floated down from above.
Yan Buyu stiffened and slowly raised his head.
He met Song Jingyi's smiling eyes.
She exclaimed "Oh dear!" and closed her eyes.
Oh no, this is so embarrassing.
Could you just drop a lightning bolt and knock her unconscious?
Song Jingyi's light chuckle turned into a low laugh. His voice was cheerful and full of pride, "Quick reaction, fast running, our Little Fish is really amazing."
He's just a little weak.
I'm not afraid anymore, but I feel a little like crying.
"Jingyi, I knew you were talking badly about me to your sister." Song Shuchen caught up and immediately understood when he saw Song Jingyi.
The son brainwashed his daughter first.
They've portrayed him as a villain; look how fast the kid ran just now, like a rabbit.
Song Jingyi shielded Yan Buyu behind him, completely covering him, and scoffed, "Don't you know whether you're a good person or a bad person? Isn't blatant robbery your usual style?"
“That was before,” Song Shuchen said, not wanting to lose face in front of his daughter whom he was seeing up close for the first time. “I’ve changed now, Jingyi. Move aside and let me say a few words to my sister.”
“What’s there to say?” Song Jingyi said impatiently. “My sister doesn’t want to see you, and neither do I. You’re getting on in years, so don’t bother people.”
Song Shuchen's face darkened.
But he didn't want to leave a bad impression on his daughter, otherwise it would really prove the brainwashing his son had done to her.
“Okay, I’m leaving.” He walked to Song Jingyi’s side. “Don’t be afraid. Dad isn’t like what your brother said. Dad’s leaving now. I’ll see you another day.”
Looking at her daughter trying to hide behind her brother, she felt a pang of pain in her heart.
That shouldn't be the case.
The daughter and her father should be very close.
Without saying a word, he turned halfway around and came to stand in front of Song Jingyi, once again blocking Song Shuchen's gaze.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here. He can't take you away." Song Jingyi comforted her gently when he saw her fear.
"Brother Jingyi, what brings you here? What a coincidence!" Yan Buyu looked up and asked him.
"Well, I just happened to be passing by your school and wanted to come in and see what the environment is like for Xiaoyu's schooling," Song Jingyi said casually.
