When she opened her eyes again, it was pitch black and eerily quiet.
She was startled and thought she was still trapped in the woods.
Su Wantang subconsciously called out Fu Yanci's name: "Yanci!"
Fu Yanci was busy cooking dinner in the kitchen when he suddenly heard a noise coming from the bedroom. His heart suddenly tightened and the spatula in his hand that was stirring the food stopped instantly.
He quickly put down the work in his hands and walked quickly to the bedroom door.
Fu Yanci gently pushed open the door and turned on the light with a "click". The warm light instantly filled the entire room, dispelling the dark haze.
Then he saw Su Wantang sitting on the bed, her hair a little messy, looking at him with confused eyes.
Fu Yanci walked up quickly and held her gently in his arms: "Did you have a nightmare? Don't be afraid, we are going home."
Su Wantang leaned in Fu Yanci's arms, feeling his warm breath and familiar smell, which slowly calmed her heart.
After a long time, her stomach began to growl. The sound was particularly abrupt in the quiet room, breaking the silence.
Su Wantang nestled in Fu Yanci's arms and said in a muffled voice, "I'm hungry..."
Fu Yanci caressed her hair lovingly, a gentle smile on his face, and said softly, "Then go wash up quickly. I have already cooked the rice, and the dishes will be ready soon. They are all your favorites."
Su Wantang, however, held Fu Yanci's waist tightly and refused to let go, like a spoiled child: "Let me hold you for a while longer..."
Fu Yanci helplessly and lovingly let Su Wantang hold him. After a long while, Su Wantang let go and went to wash and tidy up.
In the living room, Fu Yanci brought the steaming hot food to the table. Su Wantang looked at the table full of delicacies and felt warm in her heart.
Su Wantang asked while eating, "Yanci, how is the interrogation going?"
Fu Yanci frowned slightly: "Chu Xiong is still stubborn and just said he would consider it, and Jiang Weian refused to say a word..."
After a moment of silence, Su Wantang reminded in a serious tone, "You'd better assign someone to strictly guard the interrogation room..."
Before Su Wantang could finish his words, there was a knock on the door.
Liang Junwen shouted anxiously, "Captain, open the door quickly, something big has happened!"
