Chapter 02

Chapter 02

Xin Liang's pale lips parted slightly, his voice unrecognizable as emotion. "General, could you please remove your hand from my face?"

When the system prompted that the task was completed, Lu Shenxing immediately took a step back. He laughed loudly and got on the horse. The moment he turned around, his facial expression changed, as if his balls hurt.

"I should have the right to refuse, right?"

"Ding, why does Mr. Lu have this illusion?"

Lu Shenxing sneered in his heart, "I don't want to play anymore."

"Ding, Mr. Lu, stop making trouble." The system's mechanical tone continued, "Trust 222, you will soon experience what heaven is like."

Lu Shenxing shuddered inexplicably, "Forget about heaven, I'm afraid of heights."

The sound of horse hooves faded away, gradually blurred by the flying dust, and the people at the city gate were still confused.

Some soldiers couldn't control their tongues and asked, "General, are you teasing the military advisor?"

Xin Liang slowed down his pace for a moment, then continued without making any expression.

The small town of Xilang is the last fortress of Dayang State. Kuhai regards it as a piece of fat meat that must be eaten, and he would run to the door to make trouble every now and then.

The flying dust blocked his mouth and nose. Lu Shenxing was riding in the front and felt like crying because of the hot wind. He looked at the red in the distance and squinted his eyes.

As they got closer, Lu Shenxing could clearly see that the red area was full of people, dressed like lamas, and they wouldn't be afraid of tripping if a fight really broke out.

As the two armies faced each other, an extremely depressing atmosphere permeated the air, and even the horses were kicking the ground anxiously.

Lu Shenxing exhaled. An incense stick of time should pass quickly. He shouted to General Ku Hai in the middle, "If I call you, do you dare to answer?"

Everyone was stunned.

General Kuhai turned around and talked to an old man in a mumbling voice for a while. He shouted, "I dare not!"

“…”

When the plan failed, Lu Shenxing asked in a low voice, "Who's willing to go?"

Before the soldiers could recover from their shock, General Zuo was the first to react. He stepped forward expressionlessly, clasped his fists, and said, "I am willing to go!"

Lu Shenxing glanced and said, "Go ahead."

He remembered that the reason why Changzhou was able to achieve repeated military exploits was because of the two geniuses around him, one civil and one military. The civil one was Xin Liang and the military one was Left General Kang Shifu.

So it’s a sure win this time.

Kang Shifu approached on horseback with a gun in hand, and a sturdy bald man with a crescent-shaped scimitar came out of Kuhai.

There was a rapid sound of drums and horns, the horses neighed, and the two men rushed towards each other at the same time.

As the big man performed difficult kicks and flips on horseback, his red skirt fluttered, revealing a patch of white and a tuft of black underneath.

Lu Shenxing smacked his lips. The people of Kuhai were really too casual.

In the first round, Dayang won.

Lu Shenxing glanced at him with displeasure. How could it be over so quickly? Couldn't they have played it slower?

Kang Shifu's heart sank. The general must be dissatisfied with his poor martial arts skills. It seemed that he would have to practice hard when he returned.

This battle greatly boosted the morale of Lu Shenxing's side. If it were still the original Changzhou, they would have rushed forward like launching a rocket launcher.

But Lu Shenxing did not move his troops.

A few ants carrying food passed slowly through the middle, and the two armies had not yet clashed.

The general Ku Hai on the opposite side winked at the man on his left, who immediately laughed and said, "I didn't expect the general of Dayang Kingdom to be such a coward!"

Right General Tong Yi leaned closer and whispered, "General, he called you a coward."

Lu Shenxing pointed at his ear and asked sinisterly, "Look what is this?"

"ear."

Tong Yi returned to his seat covered in dust and dirt.

Lu Shenxing closed his eyes, opened and closed his dry lips, and began to recite the Three Character Classic silently.

After waiting for a while, the right general, instigated by several of his colleagues, came to ask, "General, I really don't understand why we are wasting time here with them, Ku Hai?"

"If the enemy doesn't move, I won't move. If the enemy moves..." Lu Shenxing curled his lips, "I'll move first."

Tong Yi suddenly realized something and sighed, "The military advisor is indeed a man of great wisdom."

It’s none of his business. Lu Shenxing’s face twitched.

Lu Shenxing's mouth was dry from the sun, and the helmet on both sides of his sunglasses was wet. He could even feel beads of sweat sliding down his back.

He realized that Ku Hai on the opposite side was waiting for him to send troops by provoking him again and again, playing a game of chase, and Xin Liang was right.

Several generals of Kuhai looked grim. They had figured out Changzhou's temperament and carefully set a trap. As long as the enemy caught up with them as usual, it would be absolutely foolproof.

Who would have thought that Changzhou would delay sending troops this time.

Compared with Lu Shenxing's calmness, General Ku Hai became more anxious and uneasy.

"Report—"

A Kuhai soldier stumbled and fell to the general's horse, and then saw General Kuhai's face turn pale and turned around in panic.

Lu Shenxing saw that the people on the opposite side were in chaos.

Xin Liang knew that General Ku Hai was a filial son and regarded his old mother as his life. He must have been distracted when he heard that his lair was attacked.

The smoke bombs successfully confused the Kuhai soldiers. In order to rush back to rescue their families and food, they would inevitably choose the shortest route, which was also the most likely to encounter an ambush.

The people sent by Xin Liang had been waiting for them there for a long time, and it was likely that few of Ku Hai could return alive.

Lu Shenxing looked up at the sky, and it was true that he would rather be a dog in peacetime than a man in troubled times.

Kang Shifu secretly flattered Tong Yi, and Tong Yi went over to ask Lu Shenxing, "General, should we chase them?"

Lu Shenxing kicked the horse's belly, turned around and glanced around, then said in a deep voice, "Go back."

Fortunately, he could ride a horse, otherwise he would have fallen to his death.

Although everyone was puzzled, they did not dare to object, "Yes!"

After returning to the city, Lu Shenxing changed into casual clothes and asked his attendant while drinking tea, "Where is the military advisor?"

The attendant answered honestly, "General, the military advisor is embroidering."

Poof! Lu Shenxing wiped the tea from his mouth and walked to Xin Liang's house with mixed feelings. Looking at the scene inside, he was stunned.

"The book doesn't say Xin Liang can embroider."

"Ding, due to the popularity of the book, the author has made some changes to the book, deleting many of the plot points and adding some new content instead. Mr. Lu is reading the original version."

Lu Shenxing had a headache, "What's that beep?"

"Ding, it's a two-player game, but now there's no limit on the number of people."

Lu Shenxing didn't have the heart to make fun of it. Even a blind man could embroider. He was worried that what was added later would be some strange things.

"Ding, Mr. Lu, please complete the mending task at the target location within five minutes."

Damn it again. Lu Shenxing lifted up his clothes and tore a hole in it. He held onto the door frame and stepped in. "Military Advisor."
