Chapter 52
Few people came to Huang Kuo's funeral. His identity and cause of death were very sensitive, and no one wanted to get into trouble during this special period.
Shi Chang'an waited for a long time but Huang Kuo's father did not show up. When he was about to leave, he saw a woman in a black dress. She was tall and looked very haggard. Her long black hair was blown into a mess by the cold wind, making her look staggering.
The woman stood in front of the tombstone without saying a word. Shi Changan watched the sadness on her face seep out little by little, and then was completely exposed under the dark clouds and gloomy wind, and suppressed sobs were heard.
Shi Changan rubbed his temples. He hadn't slept much in the past few days and was in a very bad mental state. He looked at the tombstone. In the photo pasted on it, the boy had a crooked mouth and looked very arrogant, as if he would call his name to borrow his homework book in the next moment. Nothing had changed.
Lu Shenxing, who was standing next to him, put his hands on Shi Changan's shoulders and squeezed them a few times. He didn't say a word of comfort. If Shi Changan couldn't even bear this, then he would never grow up.
There was a drizzle falling from the sky, and the coldness penetrated from head to toe. There were not many people in the cemetery. The neatly arranged tombstones stretched as far as the eye could see. The bare trees were swaying violently from side to side, and the rustling sound was particularly clear, making people sigh for the brevity and impermanence of life.
The woman wiped the tears from her eyes and turned around. Her gaze swept from Lu Shenxing to Shi Changan on his left, as if she couldn't see how close they were. "You are Changan, right? I often hear him mention you."
Shi Chang'an greeted her. When this woman first appeared, he guessed that she was the girlfriend Huang Kuo had mentioned.
"Thank you for seeing Huang Kuo off for the last time." The woman bent slightly, and this action brought the atmosphere, which had finally eased, back into sadness.
Shi Changan pursed his lips, thinking about what to say when he saw the woman suddenly cover her mouth with her hands and run to the side to vomit. She looked very uncomfortable. Shi Changan took out a box of tissues from his trouser pocket and handed it to her, "Are you okay?"
After taking the tissue and wiping her mouth, the woman's face turned much paler. She shook her head, said a few words hurriedly, and left.
A few months later, not long after the beginning of summer, Lu Shenxing stepped on a note when he opened the door. He and Shi Changan, who followed him, looked at each other in surprise.
"Daddy, this is..." Shi Changan squatted down and picked up the note. After seeing the content on it, his brows slowly frowned.
Glancing at the note, Lu Shenxing recalled that the woman had placed her hands on her abdomen several times in front of the tombstone, and had vomited inexplicably, and he had guessed what had happened.
That afternoon, Lu Shenxing took Shi Changan to a village according to the address written on the note. After walking along the muddy road for more than ten minutes, they stopped in front of a door. A middle-aged woman in her forties was holding a baby in the sun at the door. The baby had his eyes closed, his skin was red, and he looked small and thin.
Judging from the expression on the middle-aged woman's face, she loved the child very much.
Perhaps because Lu Shenxing and Shi Changan's attire was out of place in this small village, the middle-aged woman was a little wary. She spoke in the local dialect. A man ran out of the door, holding a carrying pole and looking hostile.
Lu Shenxing touched his nose and pulled Shi Changan away.
That night, Lu Shenxing and Shi Changan lay in bed, doing nothing for the first time, just chatting under the blanket.
"Daddy, Huang Kuo has become a father. Let's go tell him tomorrow." Shi Changan looked at the ceiling.
"Yeah." Lu Shenxing gently stroked the soft hair behind his ear.
"I don't know if it's a son or a daughter?" Shi Changan turned over and faced Lu Shenxing. "Daddy, did you see it?"
"It's a girl," Lu Shenxing said. "I sent someone to check. The couple are both farmers, honest and hardworking. Their only regret has always been that they can't have children. After they found the child, the whole family was very happy."
Shi Changan curled up his arms and legs in Lu Shenxing's arms, the past replaying in his mind from beginning to end, and he fell asleep when it was almost dawn.
"Sleep a little longer." Lu Shenxing yawned, clamped Shi Changan's feet between his legs, and rubbed his bearded chin against his neck.
Shi Chang'an felt itchy and painful from being rubbed, and his sleepiness was reduced by half. He half-opened his eyes and leaned into Lu Shenxing's arms, kissing Lu Shenxing's Adam's apple from time to time.
The two of them stayed in bed for a long time before they settled down.
The next day, Shi Chang'an went to the cemetery, talked with Huang Kuo for a while, and then went to the village. The door of that house was half open, and baby diapers and small clothes were hung in a row on bamboo poles.
He stuffed some money into the crack of the door and went back to discuss with Lu Shenxing about opening a food processing factory in a nearby town. The middle-aged man was one of the hired staff members.
With a stable job, life at least won't be too poor.
During class on Monday, Wang Shinan sat down next to Shi Changan with his books in hand. He sighed deeply and said with a pout, "The dormitory has become my own private room."
Shi Changan raised his eyebrows, "Qiao Han moved out?"
"Yes, it was yesterday." Wang Shinan flipped through the secretly taken photos and showed them to Shi Changan, "Even the mat was rolled away."
The footage was a bit blurry, but Shi Changan saw Qiao Han leaving the dormitory with lots of bags.
"I live alone, so I don't dare to watch horror movies anymore." Wang Shinan slumped over the table in frustration. He was afraid that when he was halfway through watching the movie, he would hear the sound of someone turning over or snoring in another bed, which would definitely scare him to death.
"You can move out with your girlfriend." Shi Changan opened the book and said casually.
Wang Shinan scratched his head embarrassedly. "No, it's not good. We are still students now. If we live together, I might lose control and do something. I promised not to hurt her."
Shi Changan was a little surprised at Wang Shinan's maturity. He smiled and said, "That's right."
The phone in his pocket vibrated. Shi Changan opened it and saw a text message: Shi Changle was fighting with someone on Southwest Street.
His first reaction was to look for Qiao Han in the classroom. Although it was an unfamiliar number, Shi Changan felt that the sender was Qiao Han.
"Chang'an, what are you looking at?" Wang Shinan also looked around.
"Shi Nan, I'm going to be out for a while. Please bring the book back to the dormitory for me." Shi Changan said and slipped out.
On Southwest Street, the biting wind blew dust into the sky. The alley was damp and cold. The sound of sneakers stepping on cement bricks came from one end to the other. At the innermost part of the alley, there were sounds of cursing and fighting.
Shi Chang'an, who was leaning against the wall, called the police. He originally thought it was a prank and planned to come over to check what was going on. Unexpectedly, he actually saw Shi Changle fighting with several men, and he was clearly at a disadvantage.
Shi Chang'an looked around. If Qiao Han was nearby, why didn't he go to help Shi Changle himself and contact the police instead of notifying him?
In a blink of an eye, Shi Changle was knocked to the ground. A man stepped on his face and raised the aluminum alloy stick in his hand and swung it at his head.
There was no severe pain. Shi Changle had dirt in his mouth. He made two "Pooh" sounds and stared with wide eyes at the man who shouldn't be here waving a stick. He was surrounded by those men but still had the upper hand.
He found it difficult to cope and soon was unable to fight back.
Struggling to keep his eyelids open, which were rubbed red by the dirt, he witnessed the completely one-sided situation. Several men were beaten like dogs. Shi Changle laughed sarcastically. It turned out that the man had been giving in to him.
Shi Changan threw away the stick, turned around to look at Shi Changle who was still lying there, frowned and said, "Get up."
Using his hands and feet to support himself against the wall, Shi Changle asked with a sour face, "What are you doing here?"
Shi Changan didn't respond. He walked forward and said, "Let's go. The police will be here soon."
Hearing him say this, Shi Changle immediately limped after him.
Walking out of the alley, the light became brighter. Shi Changan stopped and turned to look at Shi Changle, whose face and body were covered with bruises. "You and Qiao Han are not together?"
"Bullshit!" Shi Changle didn't care about the wound at the corner of his mouth. He cursed loudly, "Do you think I'm you? You like men. Isn't that disgusting?"
Shi Changan's face turned cold, "Take care of yourself from now on."
Looking at the person who didn't even turn his head, Shi Changle kicked the stone steps at his feet fiercely. Fuck! Damn it! He didn't mean to get angry, why couldn't he control his mouth?
"Stop!" "Brother, wait for me, hey, hiss..." "Hey, wait for me!"
Shi Changle endured the pain and chased after him. He took several breaths and secretly looked at Shi Changan's expression. He also glanced at the black-framed glasses on the bridge of his nose. He looked less and less like him.
"How did you find me?" No one knew that he was attacked by those people. Shi Changle cursed and said that the woman stuck to him on her own, what did it have to do with him.
"Someone doesn't want to see you get beaten to a pulp." Shi Changan squinted.
"Why are you talking so unpleasantly now?" Shi Changle's face was full of disbelief. He even forgot to ask who it was. All that was left was shock and anger.
"Compared to you, I'm still far behind." Shi Changan's voice was filled with undisguised sarcasm.
"..." Shi Changle was choked and unable to refute. He found a reason to laugh, "Isn't Huang Kuo good to you? Why haven't I seen him for a while? Could he have dumped you and gone out with someone else?"
After a pause, Shi Changan said, "He died a few months ago."
Dead? Shi Changle was stunned. He snorted and laughed, "Brother, you can't fool me."
Shi Chang'an frowned and said nothing.
Shi Changle withdrew his inquiring gaze and fell silent. He watched the news every day. There were accidents and human-caused deaths every day. He was numb to it. This time he felt very strange. Perhaps the person who died was someone he had seen in his life.
Huang Kuo had been sitting at the same table with his brother for many years, and had been in the same class with him for many years. Shi Changle stood in front of the tombstone, and he suddenly had a great feeling: when a person dies, nothing really exists.
From that day on, Shi Changle's temperament changed. He reduced the time he spent on the racing track and ran to Shi Changan's school more often.
Qiao Han was stuck in a small road, "Have you reconciled with Shi Changan?"
Shi Changle suddenly thought of something. He glanced sharply at Qiao Han's face and asked, "Were you the one who sent him the text message that day?"
"What?" Qiao Han sneered, "I don't have Shi Changan's phone number, and I don't have the time for that."
He then asked, "Why didn't you come last Saturday?"
Shi Changle frowned and said impatiently, "I'm busy."
Qiao Han glared at the young man in front of him with disdain, his chest heaving. After a few moments, he turned and left. Later, he got a girlfriend and was busy preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination. He never looked for Shi Changle again. Gradually, they went their separate ways.
After graduation, Shi Chang'an did not go out to visit other places. He became a Chinese teacher in a local key high school. He was always harsh and strict as a class teacher, but he was still the object of students' show-off in front of other classes. They were proud to be his students.
He has always been paying attention to Huang Kuo's daughter. The child looks exactly like Huang Kuo and has the same naughty personality. Although the living conditions in the village are not as good as those in big cities, it has the cleanliness, tranquility, simplicity and purity that big cities do not have.
Shi Changan got up in the morning, took off the messy quilt and sheets and threw them into the washing machine, put on a clean set of sheets and spread them on top, and sorted out the papers he had marked on the desk and put them in his bag.
"Daddy, where are my textbooks?"
Lu Shenxing was brushing his teeth in the bathroom and said in a muffled voice, "Look under the table."
They worked on the desk for several hours last night, leaving it a mess with things scattered everywhere.
Shi Changan squatted down and reached under the table to feel around. In addition to finding textbooks and pens, he also found a few heavy condoms.
His ears felt a little hot, and he couldn't help but take a look at them out of curiosity. Each one was filled with a lot. Suddenly, a teasing voice came from behind him, "You like it so much? Do you want daddy to feed you milk?"
"..." Shi Changan threw it into the trash can and said dimly, "I drank enough last night."
The two gates together were indeed a bit too many. Lu Shenxing's crotch felt tight. He forgot to calculate the inventory count of Juhua Ling and Hao Yan. Last night was their confrontation after a few days of separation. He wanted to make up for what he missed in one go, but he ended up going in and out, in and out again, like a wound-up spring. But the last time he was rushing towards the sky, he got stuck, like an engine without oil, grunting. In the end, he almost lost his life in Shi Changan's gate.
For the next month, Lu Shenxing's main job was to show his love.
Shi Changle, who worked in a financial company, heard from his colleagues that there was a very handsome man selling pancakes downstairs. He stood at the window and looked down. His hand shook and most of the coffee in his cup spilled.
The sharp-eyed female colleague immediately showed her kindness and handed over tissues one after another.
Shi Changle had gained countless favorable impressions the moment he entered the company with his face. Many people were looking at him now, so he didn't bother to talk. He quickly rushed downstairs, his voice distorted by the shock. "Daddy, what are you doing here? Selling... selling pancakes?"
Lu Shenxing, dressed in migrant worker's clothes, pretended not to know him, turned around and handed the money he received to the old man who owned the stall next to him. The smile on his face made Shi Changle feel creepy.
He walked to the corner and called, "Brother, Daddy is selling pancakes on the roadside."
Shi Changan, who was always calm, staggered when he heard this. If he hadn't grabbed the door frame in time, he would have fallen out in front of the whole class.
He drove to the destination and stood in front of the stall, looking at the man who hugged him and kissed him when they parted in the morning with a strange look. He had been standing on the high ground for too long, so he wanted to come down and experience the life on the lower level?
Shi Changan's mouth twitched. Could it be that Daddy is getting old and wants to change his way of life?
"Young man, do you want to buy some cakes?" The old man spoke in a very unusual Mandarin.
Shi Changan handed over the money, "Three."
Lu Shenxing's forehead twitched slightly, and he quickly rolled up three pancakes. His brain was so stimulated by the 10,000 love points that he couldn't even tell the directions. When he got to the place, he realized that it was outside Shi Changle's company.
It's okay now. During the morning rush hour, there are a lot of people and the line in front of the stall is very long. He was so busy that he didn't even raise his eyelids. He was also taken pictures with many people as a landmark of the scenic spot. Every place on his body that could be touched was touched intentionally or unintentionally.
Shi Changan gave one of the cakes to Shi Changle. The two brothers sat on chairs at a bus stop not far away, feeling suffocated by the exhaust fumes from the passing cars.
The twins with outstanding facial features were very attractive. People waiting for the bus nearby would glance at them from time to time, and some would even excitedly guess which one was the older brother and which one was the younger one.
"Daddy, is he in menopause?" Shi Changle was the first to break the silence.
Shi Changan coughed a few times before he even swallowed a bite of the biscuit. "Menopause? I haven't noticed any symptoms."
"Is that old man our relative?" This was the only possibility he could think of.
Shi Changle burst out laughing, shrugging his shoulders and saying jokingly, "Brother, you've read too many comic books."
"You go back to work, I'll wait for him here." Shi Changan took two more bites of the biscuit. The toothache caused by the cold became more serious.
"Wait a moment."
When the security guard at the door cast a curious look at him for the nth time, Shi Changle stood up and left.
After eating a piece of hot pancake, Shi Changan was not in a hurry. He switched courses with another teacher and moved the class to the afternoon, so he had plenty of time.
The old man at the stall put his fingers in his mouth to dip his saliva, and carefully counted a handful of change back and forth several times. He was so happy that he couldn't stop smiling, and patted Lu Shenxing on the shoulder and said thank you.
After sending the old man to the other side of the road, Lu Shenxing sat next to Shi Changan, exuding an aura of "Don't say anything, I just want to be quiet."
"There is one cake left. Do you want to eat it?" Shi Changan glanced at the person next to him.
"No." Lu Shenxing scratched his hair.
"Where did you buy the clothes?" Shi Chang'an reached out and tugged at the torn pocket on Lu Shenxing's chest. "This quality should only cost around 50 yuan."
Lu Shenxing, “…”
He actually bought this suit from a worker for 50 yuan.
"Don't you have classes?"
"Yes." Shi Changan pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses and said slowly, "I prepared for the worst on the way here and took you to see a doctor."
"Do I look like I have mental problems?" Lu Shenxing's facial muscles twitched.
"It wasn't like that before." Shi Changan cleared his throat and said seriously, "After what happened just now, it's hard to say."
Lu Shenxing held his forehead, it seemed that he was really not suitable to be a good person.
After having lunch outside, Lu Shenxing sent Shi Changan back to school and strolled around, earning nearly 10,000 love points.
It was Lu Shenxing’s 40th birthday. Shi Changan made a cake and someone came to his house.
The butler hid in the kitchen and eavesdropped on the movements in the hall. He brought in Young Master Changle. So many years had passed, and he hoped that the Young Master and his family could have a good meal.
Lu Shenxing sat on the sofa with his legs crossed. Shi Changle stood there without moving. "Happy birthday, Daddy."
"Come with me to the study." Lu Shenxing called to Shi Changan, "Come here too."
Opening the safe, Lu Shenxing took out a file bag and placed it on the desk. "You can take a look for yourselves."
When they saw the several pieces of paper in the bag, the expressions on Shi Changan and Shi Changle's faces changed drastically, and they stood there in shock.
It was clearly written in black and white that they were not Daddy's biological children, nor did they have the surname Shi. Their biological father was Lin Zimin, who died eighteen years ago.
The atmosphere in the study was dull. Lu Shenxing's fingers curved, tapping rhythmically on the table. "I only agreed to adopt you until you were eighteen. The rest of your life depends on you. It has nothing to do with me."
At this time, Shi Chang'an raised his eyes and looked at the man on the chair. If something unexpected had not happened to both the man and him, he should have moved out of the house like Changle.
Shi Changle withdrew his hand and said, "I'm hungry."
"Let's go eat." Shi Chang'an put the file bag back where it was and walked towards the door.
Lu Shenxing was a little speechless. Is this the end? In the original plot, the twins discovered their life experience and were depressed for a while.
After leaving the study, Shi Changle snorted, "Are you happy now?" Now that there is no blood bond, there will be no so-called taboos. He can be unscrupulous and do whatever he wants.
Shi Changan didn't say anything. It didn't matter whether that man was his father or not.
After dinner, Shi Changan and Shi Changle went to City S and found a cemetery to pay tribute to their biological parents, the people who brought them into this world.
From then on, in addition to being grateful, the two brothers would still call Lu Shenxing "Daddy" and had no intention of changing their words.
Wang Shinan opened a restaurant in his hometown and became his own boss. He often called Shi Changan to invite him to dinner and to accompany him for food, drinks and entertainment.
On November 1st of one year, for some reason, Lu Shenxing and Shi Changan went to Wang Shinan's place. The highway was jammed with traffic. They had to move the car, but the speed was slower than their two legs. They had to move under another car. When they saw Wang Shinan, their enthusiasm was gone and they regretted it so much.
A few years later, the housekeeper Zhang Bo passed away. Lu Shenxing looked for several people, but none of them were as good as Zhang Bo, so he stopped looking. He and Shi Changan took care of all the big and small things in the family themselves.
Although several lifetimes have passed, Lu Shenxing has not become a perfect male god at the decathlon level. His housework skills are still very poor. When he cooks in the microwave, the cooking oil will splatter everywhere.
Fortunately, Shi Changan is a teacher, and his vacation and work schedule are the most normal. His long winter and summer vacations make other professions jealous. He is basically the one who takes care of all the household chores.
"Daddy, give me the white vinegar."
Lu Shenxing looked at the names on the bottles one by one, found the white vinegar and handed it over.
"Pour some white vinegar into a bowl and microwave it for three minutes. That way, the grease inside will be gone with just a wipe." Shi Changan said as he did it, his helpless tone as if he was teaching an ignorant student. "Remember, Daddy?"
After waiting for a while without getting the response he wanted, Shi Changan turned around and saw that he was the only one left in the kitchen.
“…”
He went out and saw someone standing on the balcony. At that moment, for some reason, Shi Changan felt something negative from the person who had been with him for decades.
Lu Shenxing frowned, annoyed that he hadn't completed the task yet. When he felt a warm body against his back, his thoughts returned to normal and he touched the hand on his waist.
Six years after Shi Chang'an started teaching, Shi Changle got married in a flash with a woman he had known for less than a week. Both of them were interested in racing, so they chose a date to get married since they got along well.
It was unprecedented for Lu Shenxing to meet his daughter-in-law. He only found out about the gift after asking his assistant. He knew how the plot would develop, so he was not surprised. But it was different for Shi Changan.
When Shi Changan was asked when he would look for his sister-in-law, he tilted his head and his gaze vaguely fell on Lu Shenxing.
Within a few months, Shi Changle became a father. His wife gave birth to a pair of lovely twin girls. With a complete family, he became mature. After get off work, he no longer tinkered with racing car models, but went online to see what toys to buy for his children.
At the end of the same year, at the class reunion, everyone was discussing who was still married and who had already given birth to a second child. Someone who knew the situation revealed that Qiao Han had gotten married.
The things of the past are like the ignorance of youth.
Lu Shenxing, who had become a grandfather, felt very strange every time he saw the twins, especially when they called him grandpa in their baby voices.
"Changle, take your two daughters away."
Shi Changle ignored the situation while poking the earthworm onto the fishhook and encouraged his two daughters to hug their grandfather.
"Grandpa, hug me~" The two sisters stretched out their little arms to look at Lu Shenxing.
Shi Changan, who was extremely possessive, came over and placed the twins, one in each hand, on Shi Changle. He looked calm as if he was jealous of the children. He moved a stool and sat next to Lu Shenxing, as if he was strictly guarding his territory.
"Daddy, why aren't you wearing your ring today?" Shi Changan grabbed Lu Shenxing's hand.
"It's on the cabinet." Lu Shenxing picked up the fish tank and put it down again. He felt a chill on his fingers. He looked down and saw the ring that he had accidentally left in the garden and couldn't find was wrapped around his finger.
"Daddy, if you lose it next time, please tell me so that I can find it as quickly as possible." Shi Changan's eyes were gentle. He did not blame him, but just patiently reminded him.
"Okay." Lu Shenxing agreed. The fish took the bait and everything went smoothly.
On the weekend, Lu Shenxing and Shi Changan were walking in the park. In the distance, they saw a couple taking pictures. When they got closer, they realized that they had some impression of the woman.
After only a pause of one or two minutes, Lu Shenxing recognized Zhou Rui, the heroine of the book.
Except for Shi Yiwei, Huang Kuo, and Shi Changle, the fate of everyone around the original owner has been turned upside down. His mission should have been completed long ago, so why has it been stuck at 80%?
Will the prompt sound be delayed like in the previous world?
July 19th was a Wednesday, the midpoint of the week, and the sky was clear and the weather was nice.
Lu Shenxing knew what would happen from the beginning, so he pretended to be sick and stayed at home early on. Shi Changan naturally took a leave of absence and did not go to school.
"What time is it?"
"Ten twenty-five." Shi Changan looked at his watch.
Lu Shenxing changed his lying position, closed his eyes and said, "Go make me a bowl of porridge."
"It will be fine in a moment." Shi Changan pulled the thin blanket towards Lu Shenxing and kissed him on the forehead before leaving.
Just as Shi Chang'an was washing rice, Shi Changle was driving past a construction site outside and happened to receive a call from a classmate. He parked the car on the side of the road and got out to walk to his classmate's house.
A man was walking across the street. He was dressed in elite clothes and carrying a briefcase. He seemed to have just finished a business negotiation. His face still had a stern and confident look. He suddenly stopped and narrowed his eyes.
Shi Changan was talking to a classmate on the phone to ask for the specific address when he caught a glimpse of a figure out of the corner of his eye. He was stunned for a moment, then hung up the phone and put his hands in his pockets, looking a little surprised.
Two people who had known each other before met unexpectedly and had nothing to say.
"How are you doing?" Shi Changle asked with a smile.
"Very good." Qiao Han said.
Nothing more happened after the pale dialogue.
The next moment, Shi Changle saw that Qiao Han's face was pale, as if he had seen something terrifying. He looked up and the sky darkened. The breath of death enveloped his whole body, but his feet seemed to be stuck in the ground and he could not move. Amidst exclamations and shouts, he watched helplessly as the scaffolding above his head collapsed.
At 10:32, Lu Shenxing stood up, and Shi Changle's fate came to an end. He walked to the window and looked down at the scenery downstairs. This feeling of predicting the future was actually not as good as others thought.
Among the three people he cannot change, Shi Changle is the last one. This time it should really be over, right?
A sudden mechanical sound came into his mind, causing Lu Shenxing's expression to change suddenly.
"Ding, Mr. Lu will be sent out of this world. Countdown is ten seconds."
Lu Shenxing wiped his face and asked, "Have I completed my mission?"
"Ding, no."
"..." Lu Shenxing cursed with a gloomy face, damn it.
He opened the door and took a few steps when his vision went dark and he fell to the ground without even being able to say goodbye.
Shi Chang'an's eyelids in the kitchen were twitching, and he felt inexplicably uneasy. He hurriedly turned off the gas stove and went upstairs. His steps became faster and faster, and finally he ran.
The rapid breathing slowed down and paused for a beat. Shi Changan ran over to help the man up and called softly, "Daddy? What's wrong?"
After picking up the person on the ground and returning to the bedroom, Shi Changan quickly called the hospital. After doing this, he stayed by the bed without moving. How could he suddenly faint? Daddy has always been in good health. It must be hypoglycemia.
The doctors and nurses from the hospital came very quickly because the object was what paid their salaries, so they didn't dare to delay at all.
The doctor who came forward to check on him trembled, and he swallowed, "Mr. Shi... is gone."
Everyone present looked at the man with a calm face beside the bed. The room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
Out of professional habit, the doctor reminded again.
Shi Changan frowned slightly, a little impatient, "You guys go out." The corners of his lips curved into an arc, "Please help me close the door."
The door closed gently, and the room was extremely quiet. Shi Changan sighed and muttered to himself dissatisfiedly, "Daddy, didn't you promise not to abandon me?"
On the bench in the hospital, Shi Changle's face and body were covered in blood, most of which did not belong to him, but to Qiao Han, whose life was declared over a minute ago. His eyes were dazed, and he seemed not to have recovered yet.
Next to them were Qiao Han's family, who were crying bitterly. Shi Changle had a splitting headache. Qiao Han saved him. If it weren't for the other party, he would have been the one who was hit.
The sound of cello suddenly rang out in the silent corridor, and Shi Changle woke up suddenly. On the other end of the phone was his wife's panicked crying.
"Changle, Grandpa and Big Brother...something happened to them..."
Shi Changle slumped in his chair.
