Chapter 204. Qin Xiaoxiao's Complaint

Qin Xiaoxiao was not one to be taken advantage of, so she immediately glared back, which made Aunt Su so angry that she almost spat out a mouthful of blood. She secretly resented Qin Xiaoxiao for being so unreasonable and not knowing how to respect the older generation.

Qin Xiaoxiao wasn't going to put up with her. After glaring at her, she slipped past her, opened the door, and walked out.

Qin Xiaoxiao left without saying goodbye or closing the door, which infuriated Aunt Su again, but at the same time, Aunt Su was helpless against her.

As soon as Qin Xiaoxiao stepped out of the door, she saw people walking around in the courtyard. Men and women were very surprised to see Qin Xiaoxiao come out of the main house, and some even prepared to go up and ask her why she came out of the main house.

Qin Xiaoxiao was very honest; she answered everyone's questions honestly, always with a smile on her face, and even gave the younger children a lot of fruit candy.

The moment the fruit candy was used as a weapon, it immediately won over all the younger children. All the children surrounded Qin Xiaoxiao, their faces full of ingratiating smiles.

Seven or eight children showered Qin Xiaoxiao with compliments, showering her with all sorts of beautiful words without reservation. Qin Xiaoxiao accepted them all with a smile, much to the dismay of the Su family members who rolled their eyes.

That's shameless, almost as thick-skinned as the black pig at home.

Before long, Wan Guihua in the backyard also received the news and ran to the front yard. When she saw Qin Xiaoxiao being surrounded by a group of Su family juniors who were saying nice things to her and asking for candy, her face turned as black as the bottom of a pot.

No matter how the family splits up, they will still be surnamed Su. Blood is thicker than water. If the Su family loses face, it is the same as the third branch losing face, especially since it is because of Qin Xiaoxiao, their future daughter-in-law. How can she, as the mother-in-law, face Qin Xiaoxiao in the future? What attitude should she have towards this future daughter-in-law?

The daughter-in-law hasn't even entered the house yet, and she's already lost face. Luckily, she didn't try to establish her authority in front of her daughter-in-law. If she really did, would she still be able to maintain her position as a mother-in-law?

Wan Guihua, her face dark, grabbed Qin Xiaoxiao and left. The Su family members, seeing this, dared not say anything more and could only helplessly roar from behind.

Once inside the backyard, Qin Xiaoxiao relaxed, smiled, and took Wan Guihua's hand, leading them into the main hall of the third house.

Grandpa Su and Grandma Su got up at this time. When they saw Qin Xiaoxiao, the two old people smiled so much that three more wrinkles appeared on their faces. They quickly asked Qin Xiaoxiao to sit down next to them and greeted her and spoke to her in a soft voice.

"How are your grandparents feeling these days? It's cold, so please be careful not to catch a cold."

Old Master Su's primary concern was the health of Qin Aiguo and Old Lady Qin, which made Qin Xiaoxiao feel relieved.

Grandpa's friendship with his old brother was well worth it; this is the right way to treat family. The two from the eldest branch of the family were just an accident.

Qin Xiaoxiao replied with a smile, "My grandpa and grandma are in good health. I even heard my grandpa mention Grandpa Su these past few days. He said he hasn't seen him for a few days and wants to have a drink with you."

Grandpa Su laughed heartily, “Perfect timing, I’ve been missing my old brother too. I’ll go to your grandfather’s place in a bit and have a good drink with him.”

Qin Xiaoxiao nodded with a smile, "That's great! Grandma Su will come over too. My grandma said that Grandpa and Grandpa Su should drink their drinks, and she'll stew chicken for you to nourish you properly."

Spring is just around the corner, and spring plowing is no easy task. Even if you two don't go to the fields, you still have to cook for the family, right? And you still need to take care of all the big and small things around the house.

Upon hearing that her older sister was still thinking of stewing chicken for her, Grandma Su immediately smiled and her eyes crinkled. She held Qin Xiaoxiao's hand tightly and said, "I also miss your grandma. I haven't seen her for some time. Your grandma is right. Let the men drink. I'll go chat with your grandma."

Wan Guihua poured water for Qin Xiaoxiao, added brown sugar and dates, and then turned around with a smile to put the water into Qin Xiaoxiao's hands so that she could warm her hands.

"Drink it quickly, it has brown sugar and dates added, it's very nourishing."

"By the way, do you still have any red dates? I'll add a couple to my brown sugar water next time. If you don't have any, just come back and get some. I picked a lot in the mountains last autumn; I saved them all for you."

Qin Xiaoxin felt a warmth in her heart, and her smile became even brighter. "Yes, I do. I bring home quite a lot in the fall. Auntie knows I have younger siblings. My two little rascals love my jujube cakes. If I don't make enough, it won't be enough for them to eat."

Qin Xiaoxiao's expression was helpless, but her joy was evident, clearly showing that she doted on her younger siblings.

They weren't even blood relatives, yet they went to great lengths to bring home red dates just for a bite to eat. That kind of thoughtfulness is something most people can't match.

She's a good child; the Qin brothers didn't spoil her for nothing.

Qin Xiaoxiao's words made Wan Guihua even more satisfied with her; she liked her no matter how she looked at her.

Grandma Su blinked and asked in confusion, "Xiaoxiao, after all this talk, why did you come here so early in the morning? It's not that Grandma doesn't welcome you, I just wanted to ask."

Fearing that Qin Xiaoxiao might misunderstand, Grandma Su offered an explanation.

Qin Xiaoxiao didn't think much of it and said with a smile, "Su Lu said last night that he was going out today, so I wanted to come over early to see if he had left yet. I wanted to see him off and give him a few words of advice."

Grandma knew that things weren't as quiet outside as in the village, and since he was young, she was worried he might act impulsively. So she wanted to offer some advice, telling him to prioritize safety and not act rashly.

Upon hearing this, Wan Guihua laughed so hard she could barely stand up straight.

It's all thanks to her son's good judgment; he picked Qin Xiaoxiao at first glance. Otherwise, such a good child would have belonged to someone else, and she would have regretted it then.

"Good child, your aunt knows what you're thinking. Don't worry, your fourth son has been out and about a lot these past few years and is used to traveling. He won't get into any trouble."

Qin Xiaoxiao nodded. "So he left?"

Wan Guihua leaned closer to Qin Xiaoxiao and whispered, "She left late this morning and only slept for a little over two hours after she got back, but don't worry, she's full of energy."

Qin Xiaoxin felt a slight regret, but quickly recovered and said with a smile, "Then I'm relieved."

Just then, Su Zhiyuan walked in with a dark face, stepped over to Qin Xiaoxiao's side, and said softly, "Xiaoxiao, were you dragged away by the eldest son's family when you came in?"

Mentioning the first wife's name immediately made Qin Xiaoxiao's face fall, her expression darkening even more than Su Zhiyuan's.

Qin Xiaoxiao said coldly, "Uncle Su, it's not that I'm being nosy or impolite, it's that my Aunt Su has gone too far."

After saying that, Qin Xiaoxiao looked at Grandpa Su and Grandma Su, "Grandpa Su, Grandma Su, I would like to apologize to you both first. If I said anything wrong, please don't take it to heart."

Next, Qin Xiaoxiao embellished her story about what the eldest son of the Su family had done after she entered the house.

After saying that, Qin Xiaoxiao said with great displeasure, "I'm not saying this to be mean, but my Aunt Su is going too far. Even if she is an elder, my Uncle Su is a man. I'm not a three or five-year-old child who doesn't need to be on guard."

I'm a young, unmarried woman, and Aunt Su just dragged me into her room without a second thought. When I came in, Uncle Su was shirtless, not even wearing a shirt. What was I supposed to say?

Qin Xiaoxiao didn't care whether the Su family elders were happy or not; when it was time to complain, she wouldn't hesitate.

Logically speaking, Su Zhiyuan is the third son in his family, so Qin Xiaoxiao should call him Third Master Su. Since the Su family has already split up, and he is Qin Xiaoxiao's future father-in-law, calling him First Master Su wouldn't be wrong either. Calling the eldest son of the Su family "Master" wouldn't be wrong either. In Northeast China, it's common to call someone "Master" and then add their surname before it. This might be a bit confusing for people from the South, but as long as everyone knows who they're referring to, they'll be able to tell the difference once Qin Xiaoxiao enters the family.
