harm
Fu Jia was very unhappy that school started right after they established their relationship, and their feelings hadn't even had time to develop before they faced being separated. On the other hand, Xia Tong breathed a sigh of relief, finally not having to be with him every day.
But Fu Jia wasn't willing to part ways like that, so he took Xia Tong directly to her school. When they arrived at the dormitory, a group of roommates immediately started teasing her: "Hey, she wouldn't let us interfere before, but she still fell for this guy's tricks."
Xia Tong felt embarrassed by their teasing, but remained silent. The dorm leader, clearly having a particularly good impression of Fu Jia, laughed and said, "Dude, you had a tough time, didn't you? It must have taken you a lot of effort to catch our fourth girl, right?"
"Yes, so you guys have to keep an eye on her for me. If she gets snatched away by some random person, wouldn't all my efforts of the past ten years have been wasted?" Fu Jia held Xia Tong's hand, looking genuinely doting and cherishing her. Seeing that everyone in the group was quite envious, they couldn't help but sigh, "Childhood sweethearts are so great. Why didn't I have the foresight to develop one when I was young?"
"Didn't you already have Er Ma Ge?"
"Get lost, you bastard!"
After Fu Jia treated Xia Tong's roommates to dinner and karaoke, they became as close as family. The eldest and second eldest roommates put their arms around each other and assured Fu Jia, "Don't worry, we will absolutely ensure that there are no male creatures within a ten-meter radius of the fourth roommate."
Over time, no interesting men really came near Xia Tong. In addition, Xia Tong's social circle was relatively small, so she really became the "other people's girl" who had no male presence within a ten-meter radius.
Ever since Fu Jia returned to school, he's been sending her a lot of text messages. At first, out of politeness, Xia Tong would reply to each one, but later she got impatient and let him send whatever he wanted. Fu Jia was shameless; even if Xia Tong didn't reply, he could still keep sending messages. Sometimes Xia Tong wondered: How come he doesn't get annoyed? He even seems to be enjoying himself.
Military academies are not like ordinary universities; the management is extremely strict. Cell phones are forbidden, and those annoying text messages she received were secretly sent to her by Fu Jia. Xia Tong knew nothing about this, and of course, she didn't want to know.
The National Day holiday arrived shortly after the start of the semester. Xia Tong and her roommates planned to wait until after the peak travel season to go home, so they decided to travel to a neighboring city for a couple of days first. Xia's mother was still staying at her grandmother's house, and Xia Tong naturally wouldn't go home either. When the roommates discussed the trip, Xia Tong initially didn't want to go, thinking it would be too crowded and tiring. However, her roommates didn't want to leave her alone in the dorm and finally persuaded her to go with them.
When they arrived at the station the next day, Xia Tong was surprised to find Fu Jia standing before her, looking travel-worn. His roommates stared at him in astonishment; it must have taken him over ten hours to get here from the city where he studied, right? He had indeed managed to sneak away from school with great difficulty, but couldn't buy a ticket and couldn't alert any acquaintances lest they report him to his father. He had no choice but to take one of those extremely slow, old-fashioned green trains to a county under the jurisdiction of a neighboring city, and then take a taxi here. He swore he hadn't eaten or slept well the entire way; it was the most difficult journey he had ever undertaken, yet it was filled with hope and joy.
His roommates started teasing him again as soon as they saw him: "Alright, it's perfect that the fourth one doesn't want to go out. You two can go and be lovey-dovey by yourselves!"
The second brother spoke even more bluntly: "We won't be back tonight or tomorrow night! You can use the dorm room as you like, just don't be too loud, there seem to be people in the next dorm."
They were naturally indiscriminate in their opinions, something Xia Tong was used to. But when she heard them talking about herself and Fu Jia, she immediately felt extremely embarrassed and said with a sullen face, "But I'm going to travel to a neighboring city."
Nothing could be more discouraging than this. Fu Jia frowned and said, "Can't you go next time?"
The roommate sensed the awkward atmosphere: "Oh, the second oldest was just joking. You know she's always a bit silly. We can go on a trip anytime, and Fu Jia finally got to come all this way." The roommate was very careful with her words this time; normally they would have just called Fu Jia "your man."
"No, I've already bought my train ticket." Xia Tong's expression was very serious. A high-speed train ticket from here to the neighboring city only costs a dozen yuan; this reason wasn't very convincing.
Fu Jia sensed her refusal, but he was unwilling to give up and still wanted to try: "Then how about I go with you? I'll help you carry your bag and luggage." He smiled innocently, and no one could bear to hurt him.
Xia Tong lowered her head and didn't look at him. After a moment of silence, she said with difficulty, "You must be tired from the car ride. Why don't you take a rest?"
Fu Jia remained silent; such a clumsy excuse left him speechless. What if I said I wasn't tired? What other excuse could you possibly come up with?
Xia Tong watched as Fu Jia's bright eyes darkened, and she felt uneasy. Had she gone too far? Was she really being wrong? She didn't really want to go out, but the thought of spending several days and nights alone with Fu Jia made her inexplicably nervous and resistant.
After a long silence, Fu Jia spoke up: "What time is your train? Let me give you a ride."
Xia Tong nodded: "The train is in twenty minutes. You can go to the ticket gate to have your tickets checked now."
Fu Jia carried her bag as they walked forward with his roommates. Just as they were about to have their tickets checked, he suddenly pulled her back, and before Xia Tong could even cry out, his mouth was covered. Fu Jia pinned her against a pillar in the waiting hall, lifted her chin, and began sucking and biting her. Xia Tong wanted to struggle, but she knew all too well how hurtful she had been. Perhaps it was guilt, or perhaps something else, that calmed her down. She opened her eyes and could see Fu Jia's eyelashes, which weren't particularly thick but were very long, like small fans—delicate, thin as cicada wings.
She could hear him sucking and swallowing from her mouth. She felt a mix of shyness, excitement, and fear, but the previous feeling of disgust was gone. She still couldn't accept this scene in public, so she closed her eyes, blushing, and let him kiss her. But her hands went from pushing against his chest to climbing onto his shoulders.
Sensing the change in her movements, Fu Jia stopped pressing down on her so forcefully and released his grip on her chin. The kiss, though still not very sweet, became lingering and tender.
Finally, Fu Jia released Xia Tong, watching her reluctantly as she entered the station. He had traveled for over ten hours, only to see her for a mere ten minutes. He was actually exhausted and hungry. Standing in the bustling station of an unfamiliar city, for a fleeting moment, he even forgot why he had so anxiously wanted to come to this city. But recalling that kiss just now, he immediately forgot that moment of bewilderment.
Luckily, I arrived more than ten minutes early. Thank goodness.
Once on the bus and in their seats, Xia Tong and her dormitory had lost their earlier excitement about the trip, and everyone sat there in silence.
Xia Tong wondered to herself if her roommates would have a negative opinion of her because of this. Then she asked the eldest roommate next to her, "Was what I did wrong?"
"You still don't like him?" The eldest brother looked at her and pointed out the crux of the problem.
She thought for a moment, then shook her head: "I don't know either."
"I wonder how you ended up with him?"
"I...acted on impulse...Is it too hasty to say goodbye now?"
The older man stroked her chin and analyzed for her: "Even if you break up with him now, you might not be able to, right? He... although he tries to be humble and polite when he's with us, he's still very domineering."
"Then what should we do?"
"Why do you have to break up? Let's see how things go. Besides, there's nothing wrong with him, the problem is with you."
"I?"
"Don't you think that you're kind to everyone, yet you're the one who's most willing to hurt him? What kind of deep-seated grudge did you have against him in the past?"
