Su Qingci and Song Jingzhou had completely forgotten about the production team and Liu Dazhu.
I rode my bicycle straight to the ancient town.
Song Jingzhou: My family has had only one son for three generations, and the brigade leader's wife is my aunt. He wouldn't dare to do anything to me.
Su Qingci: He was afraid I would hang myself, so he didn't dare to do anything to me.
The two of them, like wild horses let loose, went wild playing in the ancient town.
The quaint alleyway was bustling with activity, and children were chasing each other on the clean streets.
Every winding alleyway tells its own story.
Su Qingci and Song Jingzhou walked and stopped frequently.
If they saw someone arguing inside a house, they would squat at the door and listen for a few minutes.
Seeing some children arguing, I sat down to watch the commotion.
When we got tired, we would sit under the eaves of the irrigation ditch and listen to the aunties washing clothes in the alley gossiping, which we found very interesting.
At the end of the ancient alley is a train track.
It is surrounded by a wooden fence to prevent children from wandering in.
Tired from playing, the two decided to sit down and rest by the railway tracks.
"Can't walk anymore, huh?"
Su Qingci wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Why don't you go to the alley entrance and ride your bicycle over?"
Song Jingzhou shook his head, "If you can't walk anymore, neither can I."
“It will take another twenty minutes to go back, so the round trip will take half an hour.”
A smile flashed in Song Jingzhou's eyes as he watched the green train slowly approaching from afar.
"Eating alone won't make you grow; how about trying something more exciting?"
"How about we take the train back?"
Su Qingci glanced at him disdainfully, "You're crazy, you country bumpkin."
"Look around, where's the bus stop?"
"Do you think trains are like buses, where you can just tell them to stop and then buy a ticket after you get on?"
Song Jingzhou wasn't annoyed and just smiled.
"The trains to the countryside are much slower than regular trains."
I felt a slight vibration on the train tracks.
He scrambled to his feet, pulled Su Qingci to her feet, and retreated to a safe distance.
The train rattled past, and a gust of wind blew in our faces.
Song Jingzhou was eager to try.
When the last carriage appeared in front of me.
Like a leopard hunting its prey, he leaped nimbly and hooked his hands onto the iron ring.
He clung to the train.
After securing himself, he stretched out his right hand towards Su Qingci, who was dumbfounded below.
"Come on, hurry up and chase after them."
Su Qingci then understood what the other person meant by taking the train.
They immediately set off to chase after it.
"Ahhhhh~"
"Wait for me~"
The train was moving very slowly, but Su Qingci caught up with it after a while.
He grabbed Song Jingzhou's outstretched arm and was pulled up onto the train.
"Don't touch that impenetrable wall, grab onto this, this protruding ladder."
Su Qingci lost her balance and hurriedly grabbed Song Jingzhou's waist.
"Wow!"
"Are you alright? Be careful."
Su Qingci's touch was like a feather gently brushing against his heart.
A tingling sensation ran through my waist, as if every single cell in my body was screaming with pleasure.
Before he could even process what was happening, Su Qingci had already clung tightly to the iron ladder.
She was a little exhausted and panting heavily, then burst into excited laughter.
Her bright, crescent-shaped eyes made Song Jingzhou smile involuntarily.
Mustering his courage, he patted her on the back and said, "Climb up the ladder and sit on top of the train."
The two quickly climbed to the top of the train.
I happily watched the lotus ponds and rice paddies receding on both sides, the winding paths, and the tangled utility poles.
The fine beads of sweat on my forehead were quickly swept away by the oncoming wind.
Su Qingci looked at the scenery, and Song Jingzhou looked at her.
"So beautiful!"
"Yes, it's beautiful!"
"By the way, eating won't make you gain weight. When is your birthday?"
"It just ended last month."
Song Jingzhou's eyes lit up, then dimmed.
"How come I didn't know?"
Why didn't you tell me?
Why should I tell you? Are you going to celebrate my birthday with me?
Song Jingzhou chuckled, "Not only will I celebrate your birthday, but I'll also make it up to you after you've already celebrated it."
"After all, once you turn eighteen, you're an adult."
Su Qingci shook her head, "No, I'm not an adult, I'm a child."
"Okay, you're a child, and you'll always be a child."
"We're here, we're here! Quickly, climb down the ladder."
Song Jingzhou quickly climbed off the roof of the car, using one hand to climb the ladder and reach out to help Su Qingci.
"We're driving very slowly, let's jump together."
"No, no, I'm afraid, I feel it's going to happen soon, please don't hurt me."
"Then I'll jump first."
Looking down at the lush grassy path below, Song Jingzhou leaped down.
After jumping, he ran several steps in the direction the train was traveling before he regained his balance.
"Come on, you jump, it's not going very fast."
"There's a thick layer of weeds down there, so nothing will happen."
Su Qingci clung tightly to the ladder, looking down at Song Jingzhou who was anxiously chasing after the train, and was momentarily distracted.
That kid is actually quite handsome.
"I dare not."
"It's okay, jump, I'll catch you, I promise I won't let you fall."
"Believe me."
Su Qingci looked up ahead; if she didn't jump off the train soon, she would be heading into the mountains.
With a determined look in his eyes, he jumped down.
"Catch me, ah~"
In the blink of an eye, she felt as if she had bumped into a wall of people.
Song Jingzhou caught Su Qingci as she fell backward due to inertia.
