elder sister

elder sister

This invitation was for Tiff to go to the palace and have a "good chat" with Luya.

Tiff was surprised that she would receive an invitation. She didn't have to go, but she wanted to see Luya, though she didn't know why. Perhaps it was longing, since they had been so close, or perhaps it was hatred, since Luya had "betrayed" her.

Tiff sat down at the dressing table, looked at herself in the mirror, smiled slightly, and was a little lost in thought. She suddenly remembered Luya's face, no, that's not right, it should be Zhuzhu's face.

When she saw Luya at the coming-of-age ceremony, she knew who had sent Iya.

“Duke Stryker, the princess requests to meet you in the pavilion in the garden.” Luya’s maid led Tiff to the garden and stopped some distance from the pavilion. She bowed to Tiff and said respectfully, “The princess said that no one but you may approach the pavilion.”

Tiff nodded at the maid whose eyes resembled Luya's.

The similarity, of course, does not refer to Luya's current eyes, but to Luya's eyes when she was a pearl.

Tiff strode toward the pavilion, which was covered by a veil, allowing only the figures inside to be seen. A gust of wind blew, revealing Luya's back.

"Your Highness."

Tiff stood behind Luya and said, "Long time no see."

Hearing the voice behind her, Luya chuckled softly, "I thought..." She slowly stood up, turned around, her smiling eyes slightly curved, "You weren't coming."

Tiff gazed into her pink eyes and suddenly spoke, "Do you really think I won't come?"

Luya didn't speak. Her eyes were fixed on Tiff's face, a face that was unfamiliar to her. It had no resemblance to Tiff's face in her previous life, but she still stared intently, as if trying to imprint the face in her mind. She was somewhat lost in thought. Tiff didn't speak either, just letting her look at her like that.

After a long pause, she spoke, "Of course not." She looked into Tiffany's eyes again, "But isn't that how many novels describe reunions after a long separation?"

"Why?" She frowned slightly and suddenly approached Tiff, her hand stroking Tiff's cheek. Her fingertips were icy cold, and her eyes held a hint of sadness. "Aren't you happy to see me?"

Seeing that Tiffany didn't react, she slowly uttered two words, "Sister."

Tiff paused for a moment, then reached out and grasped the wrist of the woman who was touching her face. It was very thin, with no flesh at all, like skin covering bones, and still icy cold.

“You should be happy.” Luya’s eyes were pleading as she pressed her other hand to her heart. “After all, I’ve been so looking forward to meeting you.”

Yes, Tiffany is Luya's older sister. In modern times, due to an accident, Tiffany learned that Luya was her father's illegitimate daughter and her half-sister.

"Didn't you feel even a moment of sadness after I died?"

“Yes, but only after you die,” Tiffany laughed. “If you die, I will weep for you.”

"Ah, how cold." Luya withdrew her pleading gaze and lowered her hand from Luya's face.

Tiff walked to the seat opposite Luya and poured herself a glass of water. "Why did you look for me?"

"Why did I look for you?" Luya sat down and straightened her skirt. "Can't it be because I missed you?"

"Miss me?" Tiff laughed. "Don't you want to kill me?"

“Hmm…” Luya was really thinking about it. “Okay, I do think about it.”

“But I really wanted to see you today, I have no other intentions,” Luya said, resting her chin on her hand.

"Alright, now that you've seen the person, I'll be going." Tiffany didn't want to stay any longer, so she picked up her skirt and left.

Luya curled her lips as she looked at the spot where Tiff had just been sitting. If Tiff had taken a single step into that spot, she would have been caught in the trap, let alone staying there for so long.

She hated her, hated that she killed her, hated that she acted so indifferent.
