go back

When Tiffany saw his appearance, a look of understanding flashed in her eyes. He must have encountered something in the fog. She asked with concern, "Lorry, what happened to you?"

"I'm fine." A flash of malice crossed his eyes as he looked up. "Let's go back quickly."

Seeing that everyone had looked away, he curled the corner of his lips expressionlessly.

What about dreams?

It won't be long before it comes true.

They returned to the academy, and apart from Iya staying with Tiff to heal her wounds by the elder's side, everyone else was called away to inquire about the situation.

The one who healed Tiff was Alphonse de Winter, one of the elders of the Magic Tower and also Tiff's magic teacher.

“Those people are really insolent,” Alphonse said, looking at the injury on Tiff’s arm with displeasure.

“Yes, teacher.” Tiff looked up innocently. “They even dared to make a move during Samuel’s assessment.”

Iya ran in from the doorway, “We still haven’t found Hoander’s body, and we can’t even sense a trace of his presence.”

"How could this happen? If I had been braver back then, I think I could have brought his body back." Tiffany lowered her eyes, looking somewhat remorseful.

"It's not your fault," Iya said, looking at her. "After all, you're already so badly injured. If we were to look for his body again, I'm afraid..."

She didn't finish her sentence, but everyone present knew what she meant.

Magic Tower

"Tower Master!" Bill, with his pink hair, rushed over. "We've tracked down those people."

Bill ran up to Hicks and said these words as soon as Hicks returned from the academy.

"I did as you said, and they agreed to meet with you."

Upon hearing this, Hicks smiled and said, "Take me to them."

"yes."

Bill led Hicks to a room in the slums. As soon as they opened the door, they saw a person sitting inside. She was wearing a cloak, and the room was dark, so her features were not clearly visible in the shadows. The only clues that she was a woman were her loose brown hair and her disdainful chuckle.

The man looked at Hicks as he entered and said, "I wonder what the Tower Master's purpose is in tracking our movements?"

"I want to work with you."

"Ha...cooperation, following us, is this your sincerity?" The man laughed sarcastically.

Hicks didn't mince words and stated his purpose directly: "I know you want to kill the emperor and take the throne yourselves. I can help you, but I need one person."

"Why should I believe you?" The person hidden in the shadows tilted her head slightly, and Hicks didn't see the fleeting disgust in her eyes.

Because of her failed assassination attempt at the palace banquet, she developed a deep hatred for Hicks.

"Just because I didn't lay a hand on you at the Crown Prince's birthday banquet, and allowed you to harm Li Xiu."

The man pondered for a moment and then said, "Okay, who is it that you want?"

Hicks didn't speak for a long time before saying, "Duke Stryker's daughter, Tiff Stryker."

"Oh?" A hint of surprise flashed in the man's eyes. "Aren't you the Tower Master? With your strength, I think capturing her won't be difficult."

"It's not difficult, but you don't need to know too much."

He wanted to watch Tiffany's schemes crumble and make her die by his own hand.

Tiff returned to the Duke's mansion, and before she had even sat down for a short while, a person suddenly appeared before her. If Hicks had been there, he would have recognized the person as the one he had just worked with.

She took off her cloak. "Miss, the Lord of the Demon Tower wants to cooperate with us."

Long before Tiff entered the Abyss of Morai, she had instructed him to let Hicks discover her after a certain period of time so that he could see what he was up to.

Lily knelt on one knee. "He helped us ascend the throne, and he wants one person."

"Who?" Tiff asked, looking at Lily.

"you."

"Me?" Tiff raised an eyebrow unconsciously. This Demon Tower Master had his eye on her, sending assassins to kill her, tampering with the assessment, and now she had to mention her when cooperating with others.

What exactly is his purpose?

Tiff looked at Lily, "I understand."

"Yes." Lily nodded and disappeared from the spot the next second.
