Kill
His "death" during the inheritance ceremony was orchestrated by Tiffany, since he had broken the contract. The contract wouldn't kill the violator immediately; it would transfer the violator's life to the one who made the promise, allowing the violator to die at any time.
However, such a contract is not unbreakable. As long as you find a mid-level mage and spend a lot of money and a few days, it can be dissolved. Of course, this is not limited to people who have high-level mages in their families, because it is very simple for them.
That's why those people, including Siman, signed the contract after some hesitation; otherwise, they wouldn't have signed it even if they had made a huge fuss.
Someone with a mustache like him must have sought out a magician to break the contract, but Tiffany had secretly included an invisible contract within the original contract, which would take effect upon signing without the signer noticing.
Its function is to make the body react accordingly when the person making the promise makes a request, which is why the man with the mustache was bleeding from his mouth and nose and fell to the ground.
Such contract magic has long been banned, and very few people can create it nowadays. Even Tiffany had it made by Margaret.
The man was covered in wounds, his dress already soaked with blood. His head was hanging low, but when he heard footsteps, he suddenly looked up at the door. When he saw that it was Tiffany who came in, his eyes widened in disbelief.
Seeing the smile curving her lips and her cold gaze, Tiffany quickly walked up to him.
"Who gave you the photo pod?"
“Ha…” The man panted, squinting as he looked down at Tiffany and slowly uttered a few words, “It really is true.”
“I’m asking…” Tiffany grabbed his collar, and with her other hand produced a long, thin ice spike, holding its sharp end close to one of the man’s eyeballs, “who gave it to you?”
Far from being afraid, the man approached the ice spike, his tone somewhat reproachful: "Tiff! Are you threatening me? I'm your uncle!"
Watching his actions, Tiffany scoffed, pressed the ice pick into her hand, listened to his wails, watched him struggle wildly, and saw blood seeping from his eyes mixed with tears.
Does a person shed tears when their eyes are gouged out? She didn't know. Thinking this, Tiffany spoke again: "You really don't understand your situation. Now your life and your family are all in my hands. Have you forgotten your son?"
Seeing the pleading look in his one remaining eye, she released her grip on his collar. "Now you can answer my questions properly, right?"
His face was deathly pale, cold sweat beaded on his forehead, and he nodded with trembling lips.
Seeing that he couldn't even speak clearly, Tiff used magic to relieve his pain.
“The commemorative sphere was given to me by a man in black. It contains…” He paused to look at Tiffany’s face. Seeing that Tiffany was gesturing for him to continue, he spoke again: “The scene of Duke Strickland telling the man in black that he would disinherit you.”
"I... I don't know who he is, I only know that he is a man."
“Hicks.” Ignoring his stammering, Tiff suddenly asked, “Do you think he looks like Hicks?”
The man tried to recall the figure of the man in black but still couldn't connect him with Hicks. He didn't know why Tiffany brought up Hicks, and said hesitantly, "They should look alike."
Tiffany glanced at him, raised her hand, and pressed her fingers to his brow. The man's breath hitched, and his eyes slowly went unfocused, like a puppet.
Tiff closed her eyes, searching her mind for memories of her encounter with the man in black.
A moment later, Tiff opened her eyes and recognized the figure. She was certain it was Hicks. Their figures were not actually alike, but Tiff could tell it was Hicks when she saw his back, because her heart was pounding as fiercely as it had been in the Abyss of Morai.
After regaining his senses, the man turned his gaze to Tiffany. "What did you do to me!"
"Let's examine your memory."
"You can search memories?" The man was shocked, because this was something Tiff shouldn't be able to do, after all, she wasn't even in the top three of the academy's magic rankings.
Tiff ignored him, wondering why Hicks was targeting her in every way.
A flash of disgust crossed her eyes, then she suddenly smiled as if she had remembered something. Hicks had targeted her so many times, she shouldn't blame her for what she did.
Seeing that Tiffany didn't speak, the man continued, "Now you can let me go."
Tiffany looked up, and the man felt a chill. "You know so many of my secrets, and you still think you can survive?"
The man's face was ashen. With a wave of her hand, Tiffany's ice spikes disappeared along with the wound on the man's eye. The wounds on his body also appeared to have healed, but that was only on the surface.
The man frowned in confusion, and before he could say anything, it was as if all the air had been sucked away. His face turned purple, and he twisted his body. After a while, his head slumped down heavily.
The man's death must leave no trace, as his body must be returned to the palace. Therefore, Tiffany cast a spell on his body, making the wounds invisible and the fact that magic was used to conceal them undetectable.
Tiffany had the body of the mustachioed man sent back.
night
A man walked into the room where the body of the man with the mustache lay. Moonlight shone through the window onto his face, making his red eyes appear terrifying in the darkness.
He walked over to the body of the man with the mustache and squatted down to check if anything was amiss. He was certain that the man's death was related to Tiffany, given how inexplicable it was.
After checking, however, nothing seemed amiss.
A voice rang out from the darkness, "Tiff..." His red eyes were now eerily blood-red, "What methods did you use this time?"
