Luo Rui is back
"How could you do this!" the Duke shouted, pointing his finger at him. "Our family has been passed down for over a hundred years. Do you really intend to do this for your own selfish desires?!"
“There’s another way.” Rory stared at the food on his plate, unmoved, and continued eating his breakfast.
“But you don’t really want to choose.” He forked a piece of meat and put it in his mouth, looking at the Duke. “It depends on whether Father thinks family honor is more important, or whether Rother’s inheritance of the title is more important.”
"You...you!" Duke Belanovich was so angry he couldn't speak, but at the same time he was weighing the pros and cons in his mind, and glanced at Rosser with a hidden look.
Rory, seemingly impatient, wiped his mouth with a handkerchief, took out a small hourglass, placed it on the table, and glanced at it. "If you haven't made a decision by the time the hourglass runs out, we'll see you in court."
The way he said it made it sound like he was the victim, not the perpetrator.
While Rosser was important to the Duke, he was absolutely not as important as the family's honor and interests.
So he turned to Rother, carefully choosing his words: "Rother..."
The Duchess, as if provoked, stepped in front of Rother, glaring at the Duke. "What do you want to say!"
"To let this bitch's words..."
“Mother.” Rother stood behind her and gently patted her shoulder. The Duchess immediately fell silent. Seeing that the Duchess had quieted down, Rother walked up to the Duchess.
“I know what Father is worried about, but we are not the only two options.” His sharp gaze swept past the Duke and went straight to Rosser.
"It can still..."
"It can also nullify his magic, imprison him, and fake his disappearance..." The woman emerged from the shadows.
Upon hearing this, the Duke was first shocked by the cruelty of abolishing magic, and then he reacted, looking at Tiffany who came out from the corner, and said in disbelief: "You... how could you?"
"Good morning, Uncle and Aunt." Tiffany tilted her head and greeted them with a smile, carrying her small black bag.
Then his gaze slowly shifted to Rother, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Long time no see."
Rother's face was somewhat thin, with a few dark circles under his eyes, and even his lips were pale and dry. At this moment, his long silver-white hair was braided, making him look rather pitiful.
He raised an eyebrow. "It's been a long time."
Tiffany's gaze shifted to Rory, a hint of annoyance flashing in his eyes, and her tone was impatient, "What are you doing here?"
Tiffany glanced at him and then looked away, turning to the Duke. "What do you think, Uncle? Wasn't my idea good?"
Seeing the Duke's wide eyes, Tiffany, unusually, reflected on herself for a moment, "Don't you like it? Then you can break his tendons and drug him to make him an idiot."
"After all, he specializes in swordsmanship. It would be too cruel to leave him conscious after severing his sword."
Seeing the stunned expressions on their faces, Tiffany frowned. "Don't you like it yet? Then sign a death contract with him and make him lose all his memories. That way, he will have normal mobility and won't be a problem. We can also find out his desire for a title the moment he regains his memories and make him die immediately."
"Duke Stryker! Death contracts have long been forbidden in Inoliel!" The duke immediately warned her as she went too far.
“I know,” Tiffany said calmly, looking at him. “But if you don’t tell me, and I don’t tell you, who will know?”
The Duke narrowed his eyes. "Do you know what you're saying?"
“Tiff,” Rory said in a low voice, “unless you kill me, I will tell everyone as long as I live.”
Tiff showed no fear whatsoever. "That's easy. We'll just kill you, then find someone else to drink the potion of disguise and turn into you, so the king won't suspect anything."
"Or we could imprison you and force you to provide a constant supply of materials for the disguised potion."
"That's really ruthless, Tiffany." Rory showed no fear on his face, instead treating it as a joke as he laughed at the method she had described.
It was as if those punishments had not been inflicted on him.
"In that case, just kill me. I accept it."
He said this, but no one present took him seriously. They knew he must have some other scheme in mind.
Shocked by Tiffany's words, the Duke quickly regained his composure and roared at Rory, "What exactly do you want?!"
"You know the answer already, but I've always only ever wanted one thing."
Seeing that the Duke did not heed her opinion, Tiff raised an eyebrow, casually found a chair, sat down, crossed her arms, and watched the good show.
The Duke's expression suddenly softened, and Tiffany knew at a glance that he was trying to appeal to emotions. Since a hard approach didn't work on Rory, the Duke had to resort to a softer one.
“Luo Rui, you were the best-behaved child. I know that your mother and I must not have taken good care of you. You don’t really want fame and fortune. You just want your mother and me to take better care of you.”
Seeing the Duke's tender expression, Tiffany felt goosebumps all over her body.
Luo Rui made an even more surprising statement.
"Old man, stop talking nonsense. Now you're pretending to be all lovey-dovey with me." He glanced at the hourglass on the table. "Two minutes left, hurry up and choose."
"You...you...unfilial son!" The Duke was now truly out of breath, his face flushed red, and his body swaying.
The Duchess quickly stepped forward to support the Duke, saying, "Alright, then we'll see you in court."
The Duke frowned and tugged at the Duchess's sleeve twice.
"Enough! He's already like this, what more can you say? I think we should just do as Strickland suggested and kill him to vent our anger first. As for the rest, we can talk about it after he's dead." The Duchess made no attempt to hide her disgust for Lorry.
Luo Rui stood up. "In that case, I'll be going now. See you tomorrow."
"Wait! Where are you going!" The Duke stared intently at him, afraid he would run away.
Luo Rui said coldly, "Go back to your room."
The Duke stared at him for a few seconds, then ordered his men to follow Rory, ostensibly to protect him, but it was common knowledge that they were afraid he might suddenly escape.
Despite all this commotion, Prince Belanovic is still putting on a show.
Watching Rory's figure disappear from sight, the Duke coughed twice and turned to Tiffany, not forgetting this outsider who was watching the spectacle.
"Duke Stryker, you've come to see...?"
“I have something I’d like to say to you,” Tiff said, standing up.
The Duke was somewhat surprised, but quickly agreed, "Alright, come to the study with me."
The Duke walked toward his study, and Tiffany glanced at Rosser before following him.
The Duke poured Tiffany a cup of tea while sitting on the sofa, and Tiffany took it after sitting down on a single sofa to the side.
"I'm not going to beat around the bush anymore, I want you to help me usurp the throne."
"Cough cough." The Duke felt his heart was really suffering today. First, there was that rebellious son, Rory, and now his colleague was asking him to help usurp the throne.
He snapped, "Even if you threaten me with what happened today, I won't help you."
He could still distinguish between the seriousness of being underutilized and the crime of exterminating his clan.
“How could I be that kind of person?” Tiffany blew on the steaming tea and took a small sip.
"I'm discussing this with you."
“After this incident, the King will certainly not give you important positions in the future. Wasn’t the Ajek family once one of the most powerful families? But look at their current state. Do you really want to let the Belanovich family be destroyed in your hands?” Tiff said.
“But if I become emperor, I guarantee that the Belanovich family will be the number one family in Inolier.”
“But if I report you, I can still gain the king’s trust.”
“But you can never guarantee that the king will give your family as much as I will give you.”
"What if you go back on your word..."
“Let’s make a death pact,” Tiff said without the slightest hesitation.
The duke stared at her for a few seconds before continuing, "Aren't you afraid I'll tell everyone?"
Tiff gave him a meaningful look upon hearing this, and with just two words, she made the Duke's face turn ugly.
Ferrand.
The Duke didn't understand her meaning at first, but after thinking for a moment, he immediately understood the deeper meaning: "You...you framed Ferrand!"
"He deserved to die."
“And… the Black Magic Stone.” He stiffened. “You’re not only ruthless, you’re also incredibly audacious.”
“If you tell anyone, I guarantee he’ll be your cautionary tale.” Now it was Tiffany’s turn to warn him.
"Well, Duke Belanovich?"
Belanovic lowered his eyes and thought for a few seconds, then knelt on one knee. "I am willing to help you get what you deserve."
Tiff smiled with satisfaction.
Having strong ambition is nothing unusual, but Tiffany possesses abilities commensurate with her ambition, something only a few people have. She appears innocent but is actually ruthless, making her the easiest person to lower one's guard against.
He was also the most suitable person to be emperor.

When Tiffany went to see the King the next day, she asked for the day off, as she was not interested in the play she had already seen.
But Lisa was excitedly telling Tiff about the outcome of the matter.
"They took Lorry to tell him what had happened, and the king was naturally furious that Lorry dared to play them for fools in the name of the Red Tower."
"This prompted the king to immediately order Rory to be beheaded."
"But Lorry didn't die in the end. Guess who pleaded for him."
Tiffany reclined in her chair, flipping through a book, and glanced at Lisa. "I won't guess."
You would never guess…
"Rother, is that so?"
Lisa stared wide-eyed, then blinked gently. "Very accurate."
"I think Rosser must have other plans, otherwise why would he plead for his enemy?"
“He did it on purpose, to come back on the eve of Rory’s inheritance of the title.”
"What if he genuinely wants to help Rory?"
"That proves he's a pushover, someone who can be easily manipulated."
Tiff chuckled and looked at Lisa, "Any news from Lina?"
It is estimated that Lina has already arrived at the border.
"Yes, Lina sent word that Welly initially targeted her, until our informant planted by Welly persuaded her, and Welly used every means, including coercion and enticement, to make Lina betray you."
"Now, in Willey's eyes, Lina is already one of his people."
"Okay, contact that informant and tell him to act at the right time."
