Simonton Forest

Simonton Forest

Simonton Forest

A woman sat slumped on the ground, leaning against a thick tree trunk. Her clothes were torn, the fabric of her upper body was soaked with blood, her hair was disheveled, and her eyes were tightly closed, making her look as if she were truly dead.

Until the clocks in the palace towers rang, marking the hour.

Not far from the woman, a pool of bloody flesh gradually turned into wood fragments, and the scattered pieces of flesh turned into sawdust.

If anyone were here, they would be horrified by this scene. Of course, I'm not referring to the sawdust, but rather the fact that a new heart is growing inside the chest cavity of the woman who is slumped on the ground. Although the process is rather slow, you can still see how it is growing.

After the skin on her chest had fully healed, a few breaths later, her brows furrowed involuntarily, then she suddenly opened her eyes, her chest heaving violently as she gasped for air.

"Uh..." It was probably because he was breathing too fast that he was gagging.

Her fingertips gripped the hem of her clothes, and the pain of having her heart brutally ripped out came belatedly to her senses.

She brushed aside a strand of hair that had fallen across her forehead, leaned back against the tree trunk, exhaled, and gradually her breathing returned to normal.

This was a substitution technique she had learned from an ancient book when she was very young. She had a vague feeling that Hicks would make a move against her here, so she was prepared.

Tiff used her palms to push herself up and then quickly repaired her torn clothes.

A fog had risen in the forest, and the sky had darkened. Tiff held her breath and took a small bottle from her bag, which contained pills to resist the poison gas.

The cool pills went down my throat.

Something seemed to be moving rapidly toward Tiffany through the fog.

Tiff couldn't see what it was, but she sensed it carefully—the aura of a magical beast.

Tiffany conjured a ghostly blue flame in her palm. The moment she sensed the monster rushing towards her, the flame spread out from her, turning everything to ashes.

She walked through bush after bush until she saw a figure ahead. The person was wearing a white dress, had short hair, and her clothes clearly did not belong to this era.

The figure was so familiar, so familiar that even in the misty forest, from such a distance, it could be recognized at a glance.

"Daughter of the Duchess Stryker!" the man called out as he walked toward her.

It was those words that brought her back to her senses.

Transformers.

The shapeshifter can randomly transform into someone you know, such as family, friends, or even a complete stranger you've only met once.

When Tiff first saw this figure, she thought it was someone sent by Luya, after all, only she knew about their affairs in the modern world.

As "she" approached, the aura of the monsters grew stronger.

She noticed.

When Tiffany saw "her" approaching her with a smile on her face, she felt disgusted.

The shapeshifter was unaware that it had already been exposed, nor did it realize that its current situation was very dangerous.

With a cold expression, Tiff stepped forward quickly and, while the shapeshifter was still wearing its mask, tore its body apart, turning it into several pieces.

Seemingly enraged, and perhaps due to the aftereffects of using the substitution technique, her chest began to ache again.

This time the pain was even more intense; she could barely stand and had to slowly sit down, holding onto the tree trunk. Cold sweat streamed down her forehead, and her clothes were soaked and stuck to her back.

A wave of dizziness washed over her, and the world spun around her. Tiff didn't faint, because the world really did turn upside down in her astonished gaze.

Before she even opened her eyes, she sensed an extremely strong aura of magical beasts.

She was still in the forest, but the scene before her was slightly different from before; it was obvious that she had changed locations in those few seconds.

Tiff had only taken two steps after standing up when a booming sound rang in her mind, accompanied by a cold voice.

"Get out, humans!"

Humans...?

Tiff then realized where she was.

This is where the Heart of Hess is kept.
